Lose 50lbs with me!

Cookiedough123 · 05/08/2023 11:48

Hi I just thought I would start my own thread so I can post daily!

I have recently started fasting and I am 10 days in and lost nearly 6lbs!

SW 15st 6.8
CW 15st 1

GW under 12st!

I am using a few apps to help.. Happy Scales.. I like the way this breaks it into 10 milestones so I have smaller weight goals to aim for. And Zero to track how many hours I have fasted. I have never tried fasting before but I feel like it’s using my willpower which I needed reminding that I had! MyFitnessPal i find if I don’t track my calories I forget what I’ve eaten. My goal is 1400 a day. And finally Fitbit.. I’m aiming for 10000+ steps a day.

Im a serial calorie counter! I got down to under 10st about 7 years ago and as amazing as I felt, I also felt amazing at 12st as my clothes were much more flattering on me. I had a baby last year and I’m nearly 10 months postpartum, frustratingly I actually lost weight after I had my son as I was so sick during pregnancy and then I have found breastfeeding made me super hungry and I piled weight on by constantly snacking. The breastfeeding has cut right down now and I am finding I am not as hungry and needed to kick myself into gear.

I have attached a pic of my MyFitnessPal weight log since 2015 to show how up and down I am!

@tryingcouchto5K i wouldn’t worry I am always fluctuating! Try to look at your overall week loss! Also have you taken any starting pics? You don’t have to show anyone, just for yourself to see the difference in 6 weeks! I had really bad shoulder and back pain when I started in July and it’s definitely less noticeable now I am 2 and a half stone down.

@LosingMyPumpkins hopefully you can join us 🙌

@Sugarfree23 I’m sure them scales will keep dropping. Youve got a good head start too!

I’ve gained 1lb this week but considering it’s post-Christmas and NY I’m not worried. I haven’t been eating mindfully either because I’ve been in the progesterone phase of my HRT cycle and it replicates PMT with mood swings, cravings and bloating! I am looking forward to getting back in the routine next week.

Crikeyalmighty · 05/01/2024 15:07

4lb up since. The 20th dec (last time I weighed) but not suprising as we've been away for 6 days over new year and I've eaten a lot more than usual and drank (every day)

Back on the grindstone as of yesterday

SW. 16st 3
Current 14st 3 ( and that's taken a year)
GW. 11st 4

Cookiedough123 · 07/01/2024 11:31

I’ve been 13st 2.8 for a couple of days now! Done lots of steps the last few days and managed a gym class yesterday morning and this morning! Still not managed to cut out treats e.g had a chocolate brownie yesterday 😂 I find it hard to say no if someone offers me something! Just about to finish my fast of 18 hours with a chicken wrap and then will get out for a walk and get some steps in.
@Bookworm1111 1lb isn’t bad like you said it can be hormone related or water weight. I think it takes time to actually gain after binge times like Xmas/new year too! Good luck this week!
@Crikeyalmighty not too bad!! Your 2st loss already is brilliant. It’s great starting back knowing you’re already at an overall loss

@Cookiedough123 That's a good idea, I'll take some pics and measure also. I have lower leg pains, atm which I think is a lack of vitamin D so I'll take a replacement and hopefully, will be hitting the gym tomorrow.

Bumblebeebum23 · 08/01/2024 07:48

Monday weigh-in...2lbs off this week 😊 hoping to be back in the 12s next week 🙏

SW: 15st 9lbs (June)
CW: 13st
TW: 10st

Hope everyone has a great week x

Sugarfree23 · 08/01/2024 08:58

12st 8 today scales going in the wrong direction.

However life back to normal today. I need to get back on the diet and my other goal for 24 is getting the house declutter!

Cookiedough123 · 09/01/2024 07:11

13st 2.8 still! Going to try really hard to stop the smacks now as it’s clearly that which is stopping me losing! I also haven’t weighed my food in a while so maybe I should go back to that!

@Bumblebeebum23 well done on your 2lb loss 😀 you will defo be back under now!

@Sugarfree23 im also going in the wrong direction but back to work yesterday should help !

Thanks @Cookiedough123

I reckon you'll have a bit of a whoosh soon. It's so frustrating when the scales get stuck on a number for ages, but I notice that usually, when this happens, I suddenly lose a bigger number all at once.

Sounds like you are doing all the rights things, so I'm sure it will drop soon xx

LittleGlowingOblong · 09/01/2024 10:07

I’m still here. But gave up completely so haven’t been posting.

My weight’s been kind of stable at 15 stone, but over the holidays I walked so much, and was in a different house so less snacking, and actually lost 6.5lbs!

It’s been really shocking to me that I’ve become someone obese who’s 50% above her ideal weight.

Anyhoo, I’ve signed up for Bodyslims - perhaps too sudden but a friend was raving about it… tbh it sounds much the same as what you are doing @Cookiedough123 but you’re doing it at a more sensible rate and for free! I’m just hoping it will give me a reset, lift my mood and my energy levels, and then I can take it from there.

Cookiedough123 · 11/01/2024 08:53

Morning!!

13st 0.6 this morning. I was 13st 0.4 on the 24rd November and that was the lowest I had got! Im itching to get in the 12s I’ve been waiting for 6 weeks now 😂

@LittleGlowingOblong you didn’t give up you had a break, we all need a break sometimes! 6.5lbs loss is brilliant. Well done! Sometimes you need to sign up to new things to give you a kick start. I signed up for CrossFit in July and go a few times a week and it was that which kickstarted me into the fasting etc!

Cookiedough123 · 12/01/2024 07:05

Back up to 13 1.4 this morning 😂 my scales really don’t want me to see that 12!

OP posts:
Bumblebeebum23 · 12/01/2024 07:37

Keep going @Cookiedough123 you'll get there 💪 and well done for not throwing in the towel 😊

ScallyWaggyWoo · 12/01/2024 14:25

2.5lbs away from my GW but don’t expect to hit that for a good month or longer as I’m not dieting and my BMI is about 21 so it’s harder to lose at this stage.

Bumblebeebum23 · 15/01/2024 07:41

1.5lbs for me this week and back into the 12st bracket

Next mini goal is 3st lost

SW: 15st 9lbs (June)
CW: 12st 12.5lbs
TW: 10st

Sugarfree23 · 16/01/2024 11:46

Gawd only knows how but I'm down 2.4lb since last Wednesday. Been wrecked with a cold so not been watching anything or been near the gym 🤧

Down to 12st 5.3 lowest I've been in a while. So back on the path to getting to where I want to be.

Bumblebeebum23 · 17/01/2024 07:44

Well done on your loss @Sugarfree23 😊 I hope you're feeling better now x

Sugarfree23 · 17/01/2024 09:46

I'm still not 100% but better than I was at the weekend down another 0.4lb probably not the way to do it but I'll call it a bonus of this cold keeping my fingers out the sweetie tub.

Bookworm1111 · 20/01/2024 08:48

Hey everyone, well done on all your losses! It’s inspiring to read. I’ve had a rubbish two weeks where food- and booze-wise I’ve taken my eye off the ball that’s resulted in a 1lb gain but I have been doing daily exercise videos that I love so that’s a win.

The issue I have is tracking food. I have a history of disordered eating so if I track calories or fast it triggers an urge to binge. So I am reliant on simply cutting portion size and making healthy choices but it just makes it a longer process to lose weight. If anyone has tips for not tracking food intake while still tracking, I’m all ears!

tryingcouchto5K · 21/01/2024 10:54

SW 14.5
CR 14.4
GW 10
Went to the gym 3 times last week, hopefully that will aid the loss. Well done to all your losses.

I have a lovely wardrobe of clothes that I've outgrown by a couple of sizes. I know the weights needed to comfortably get back into them, I have been rotating the same few stretchy items and I'm determined to go back to having a choice in the morning.

Bumblebeebum23 · 22/01/2024 07:53

12st 13.5lbs this morning, so 1lb up since last week 😭 annoying because I was 12st 11.5lb on Friday.

I have to admit I haven't had the most sensible weekend (way too much bread!). Sick children and extra stress and tiredness have led to me being in "fuck it" mode (not an excuse but acknowledging my process). Back on it today as really don't want to be going back down any slippery slopes.

Hope everyone else has been more successful 🙏

Cookiedough123 · 22/01/2024 19:06

Sorry I’ve been missing for a week. I’m not going to lie I have lost my head a bit with it. I have a few good days and some bad. Struggling with snacking and struggling with fasting. When it works it really works but I am going through the I am hungry stage and wanting to eat first thing. I don’t know whether it’s hormone related, stress or a bit of anxiety about general life stuff! I think I need to up my drinking from the minute I get up to try and curb it a bit! I also find when I am very sedentary I struggle with motivation. So last weekend we moved my in laws, then we had a snow week and it was really icy and struggled to get out the house and then this weekend the weather has been rubbish so again I’ve hardly got out. My little boy is also teething and hardly sleeping. Last week I managed the gym once but I’ve been exercising at least 2 or 3 times a week so I am really slacking! Sorry I am rubbish motivation this week! I have set my fasting from after my tea tonight and I also have the gym tomorrow night. I feel so much more rubbish after not eating well, little exercise and it puts a bit of a downer on me. I felt so much better when I was more active and eating less!!

Bumblebeebum23 · 23/01/2024 08:12

I'm sorry to hear you are having a tough time and I 100% get it. Be kind to yourself. This is just a bump in the road xx

LittleGlowingOblong · 23/01/2024 14:12

I’m doing okay on the Bodyslims course. The fixed framework is helpful for me, and I feel I’m being re-educated about food, calories, self care.

However, I realise now that carbs is the cheapest of the food groups - I’m actually really enjoying all the fresh veg but it feels extravagant. Maybe that’s what I need to learn - it’s not extravagant to spend on basic healthy foodstuffs! I spend more on my gym than I do on the uplift in grocery costs, and diet is more important than exercise (for weight loss). So I should go figure!!
