LoveMyGirls · 25/02/2008 13:48

Aww ta katy, I'm ok now, dd2 and mindee both asleep, i've washed up and made enough salad to last me a few days and my sister is taking my dc's out this afternoon and dp is doing bedtime while i go swimming, i'm now sat with a large chicken salad! I had 1 square of bournville choc yesterday i won't have any more choc this week no matter what!

And sorry MrsF - CONGRATUALTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

katylessbumpy · 25/02/2008 14:10

glad your feeling happier lovemygirls.
i just ate purple soupi'm skint at the moment thanks to the car and red cabbage was reduced in morrisons to 18p so i bought loads and made a big pan of veg soup.the cabbage turned it purple!!!
it was really tasty though, just looked bizarre and i am stuffed.

susiecutiemincepies · 25/02/2008 14:18

Well done mrsF, fantastic!!!! I just keep dreaming of the day i'm back in my comfy size 12's... dead jealous!

The walk sounded good katy, and the soup!

my problem with the food thing is that i just can't stand up for long enough comfortably, to prepare, cook then clear up, so it becomes a really mamouth task for me. I am feeling so positive about how much I felt I did yesterday, even if i paid for it in the evening. decided that i will make the most of those days every time, and sod the pain in the evening. At least i will feel i'm living a bit!

Lovemygirls: you are moving in the right direction, all the time. 1 square of choc is so strong willed in itself, well done

katylessbumpy · 25/02/2008 14:24

i'm so lazy when it comes to cooking my soup susie i buy the ready chopped casserole veg and eat it out of the pan
the more you do susie will your body adapt? my mum has arthritis of the spine and finds a walk everyday does more good for her than sitting as she gets really stiff.
i know it's not the same situation as you but i don't want you to push yourself and then be in agony xx

OP posts:
LoveMyGirls · 25/02/2008 14:24

Susie what about getting one of those chairs so you can sit up at the kitchen worktop or just sit at the dining table to prepare food? Or buy ready made salads?
I'm healthy but still all that washing up and salad prep has given me a pain in my shoulder and back but at least i should be able to make it better when i go swimming later!

I stood on the scales this morning and they think i've put 1lb on but i've been really good over the weekend so don't understand but it does make me even more determined to keep at it, i know it works and I will get there. I've been doing ww for 1 month today and another 3 or 4 months and I can stop being so strict!

katylessbumpy · 25/02/2008 14:36

small goals lovemygirls.it'll be warm in 3 or 4 months and i don't know about you but all i want to eat is salad ,chicken and ice lollies.dieting is so much easier when the sun is shining

Hi, girls. I went to coffee shop today and I had coffee late with 2 sugars and some oiwdered chocolate on top and a nut bar. Then I made soup - carrots, spices, tomato paste, bullion powder and when carrots were soft I added chopped spring onions and coriander, blended it and added some chopped pieces of pork from yesterday roast. i had 2 bowls. Don't know yet what to have for dinner, might have the rest of cold pork with something, may be i use a little bit of soup which is left and add some frozen peas, cook for little while. I'm going to restart dancing to my fav pop songs (Abba and stuff)to keep me excersising and also getting back into a happier mood. I promise to do my best not to sound negative or low about myself

I agree with you katy, it is always easier in the summer. trouble is, i want to be able to wear summer clothes and i wouldn't want to subject anyone to all my wobbly bits t the moment!!

I'm just frustrated, i've never had such trouble losing weight before, it usually just goes, when i want to make the effort. I'm hardly eating anything and not losing a bean...

I'm going to look at the slimming world website today, and maybe just go for that, as i know it works for me. just the htought of all that pasta! maybe i'l stick to the red days with protein... that;ll do it for sure!

Right, feeling motivated RIGHT NOW... will be back when I've registered... wish me luck girls!

fedda · 25/02/2008 14:54

Good luck, Susie.

katylessbumpy · 25/02/2008 14:57

go susie, run ,quick before you change your mind[ grin]

susiecutiemincepies · 25/02/2008 15:13

ok, I've done it!!! I feel really good that I have! I decided to go for the postal option, as with hte online membership, you don't get all the books etc. This means I wont get it for a week or so, but, at least I know its on the way.

Feel incredibly positive about it now, really looking forward to starting it. Can't wait! I will definitely be able to lose 6lbs by easter now.. if not more. I seem to remember last time i did it, i lost 7 lbs in the first week. So, onwards and downwards!!

katylessbumpy · 25/02/2008 15:16

well done susie
the challenge is on!!!1

OP posts:
susiecutiemincepies · 25/02/2008 15:21

polly can I tempt you, or persuade you to join in with me? I reckon, from looking at the kind of things you eat, it might be just right for you. PLus, you dont need to go out to a class every week.
you really can eat SO much on slimming world. I was never, ever ever hungry when I did it before. Infact on the weeks i didn't do so well, my consultant at the group used to tell me i wasn't eating enough, so I upped my free food intakes and lost more... Its also a good one to do if you are cooking for a family. I would cook us a spag bol for exaample, then just give myself a huge huge portion of the meat and a small bit of pasta, if I was doing a 'red' day. then if it was a green day, a huge bowl of spagetti with a bit of mince mixed in... really really good.

I know i sound a bit evangelical about it. Just that I know it works, and it is a great diet to follow long term too. Once you get into the swing of things, its really easy. No points to count, no calories to count. now, you can even just look up 'sin' values online. So easy...

MAybe I should work for them???

Ok, i'll not go on any longer. Would you consider it Polly? maybe? we could help each other couldnt we? of course, same applies to anyone else! just thought of Polly when i was reading all the menus again. It all came flooding back to me how good it is! Ican do it with Mr C too, he'll never even notice

Reminds me, I used to go with a good friend of mine. He hubby was on the diet for about 3 months, lot loads of weight and did'nt even know he was doing it! of course, when he ate out of the house he was eating 'normally' and not really doing the whole sins thing, but, he still lost weight. MAkes me think of that avert for nimble bread!

susiecutiemincepies · 25/02/2008 15:22

Oh, Katy, I want to start it now! Don't want to wait... maybe i'll get the free 7 day plan to keep me going till it all arrives. I need to weigh myself in the morning, and write it down somewhere secret, I might, even measure all my fat bits.. That's sure to depress me alot!

katylessbumpy · 25/02/2008 15:31

do it susie.weigh and measure.then you can look back and see how well you have done.
i agree slimming world really does work.i only chose ww this time as i'm not a great meat eater and i don't like pasta so that left me jacket potatoes, mashed potatoes ,slimmimg world chips etc.my favourite meal used to be sw chips and when they were nearly done i used to crack a couple of eggs onto the oven tray and then have it with a load of beans ,yum

OP posts:
susiecutiemincepies · 25/02/2008 15:52

ooooo, thats a good meal! never thought of that. What a brilliant idea! I used to love my english breakfast, and done on a green day, so had it with loads of beans! Its nearly 3 slices of bacon for a healthy extra i seem to remember...

I actually can't wait to start. there is no point in me actually starting until I've got all the books sent through though, so i'll stick to m slim fast until then.

Although, I might have SW chips tonight with an egg and beans... can't think why!

isobel can have the chips too that way, she's not actually having chips but she can hold them and dip them in her tomato sauce. I'll peel them tonight. I used to not bother peeling them, and had them with crispy skins on, which is lovely, but not so chip like. ONly thing is, I dont have any fry lite so will have to be a little bit of olive oil instead, so wont be toooooo bad.

my fav meal used to be, cod in butter sauce, using the fish as a healthy extra, and the buttersauce then works out as only one sin, poured over a huge pile of mashed potato! hmmmmmmmmmmmm food of the gods that is

Just need some structure to my day you know? I love the slimfast shakes alot. However, I do miss eating food some days!

katylessbumpy · 25/02/2008 15:57

slimfast makes me crave something to get my teeth into.but that works too if you stick to it.
i used to layer fruit and muller light into a sundae glass and pretend i was eating icecream lol

OP posts:
susiecutiemincepies · 25/02/2008 16:01

you can freeze them, and thats gorgeous too. And frozen bananas and frozen grapes are good in the summer. Freeze a banana then break it all up and mix it with low fat yoghurt and drizzle honey on ( 1 sin I think for a tablespoon? ) thats really lovely.... Oh, and 2 finger kitkats were a lovely treat, oh, and tunnocks bars too! oh, its all coming back to me now! Hurry up post

Trust me, i'll not be this excited for long... you'll have to kick me up the butt from time to time and remind me why oh why i'm doing it!

discoverlife · 25/02/2008 16:36

Hi girls, I am being good at long last. Actually calorie counting which Sparkpeople does for you anyway, and its given me 1200 to 1550 calories a day.
I think my goal this next 2 weeks is to be able to do up my dragon embroidered cargo trousers again. (dragon from hip to hem in a creamy gold thread on a 'mink' coloured background).

Does anybody else have a wardrobe FULL of clothes that don't fit, BUT you keep them because you might shrink back into them. Then when you do shrink the clothes are 5 years out of date? Well thats me and I am going to have a clear out tonight and dump everything at the charity shop that isn't within 2 sizes of my present weight. Then I can encourage myself with the thought of NEW clothes.

katylessbumpy · 25/02/2008 17:22

discoverlife those trousers sound ver maharishi!
that's a really good goal to aim for.short term and achievable

i have a wardrobe full of clothes that i have only worn a couple of times.i went on a spending spree august 06 and got pregnant august 06 lol.i will wear them this summer though.my (.)(.) were far too big last summer and my arse come to think off it

OP posts:
belcantavinissima · 25/02/2008 17:52

i have even been thinking of deliberately buying something, maybe a frock in 2 sizes too small for the summer so i have something physical to see myself shrink into it. what do you think???

(sorry that was very very bad grammer!)

off to ww in a bit- i reckon , without wanting to tempt fate, that i have lost a couple of pounds this week - mind you last week i wore my jeans to weigh in and during the week i weighed them and they weigh 3lbs!!! so i am tonight wearing my flimsiest clothes i've got! x

katylessbumpy · 25/02/2008 17:57

bel do it,there is nothing better than trying on clothes that were once to small and knowing that you can do them up.

OP posts:
discoverlife · 25/02/2008 18:04

I have in my wardrobe (it won't be going) a little black dress that I wore for my sisters 1st wedding 21 years ago in my wardrobe. There are pictures of me in that dress being thrown up into the air. I would one day like to wear it again, then throw the bloody ugly thing in the bin (lovely dress spoilt by a honking great big flower stitched into it on such a way that I can't get it off without ruining the dress).
