Like it, Katy!!! Very glamorous!

Must be hard for you to know what came first, the drinking or the depression with your DH. But cutting down will surely do his physical and mental health good.

My DP drinks because of stress, and has no interest in learning other coping, he really doesn't see it as a problem. To him. But then he probably thinks he only drinks 10 units or so a week, there's quite some denial going on!

I'm still being sick. Hate this.

fatkatyslim · 28/03/2008 06:53

are you sure your not pregnant mlp?

i know you said earlier that you weren't but you surely should have stopped being sick by now

dh didn't have a drink last night.he came home from work had a couple of glasses of water and came to bed.i don't expect miracles or for it to happen over night but it is a definate step in the right direction

MrsFish · 28/03/2008 09:19

Sounds good so far, I hope he keeps it up

Liking the new name Katy. I want to change mine as it is the same as on other forums I use at the moment and I feel like a change. Have no idea what to change it to though... any ideas?

Oh to be in a size 10 [wish] I peeked on the scales this morning and the two pound I was showing up on wed has gone already, so just need to keep being good and I may hopefully lose a pound As long as I don't blow it on sat, mind you if I dance all night that should help combat the alcohol calories

mylittlepudding · 28/03/2008 10:46

I can squeeeeze into a size 10 but it's not pleasant. Tis still my goal though.

Have taken today off. Feel really terrible. Too sick to take DD to childminders, tho she keeps picking up her shoes and looking hopeful . She is an outdoorsy creature like her mum.

I don't feel pregnant - no breast pain etc. I had my coil scanned the other day and there's nothing in there but coil. I wish I could turn my brain off!!! Need a plan of attack for next week because I really have been all over the place this week.

Maybe I should buy some scales? My knickers feel to big, either the elastic's gone or there's less of me!

fatkatyslim · 28/03/2008 11:38

sorry your feeling shit mlp but good news on the size 10's and the baggy knickers

wahay mrfish keep it up.

right i'm off to think of a new name for you.does it have to have a fishy theme?

fatkatyslim · 28/03/2008 11:56

ok ,i've had nosey on your profile and have come up with these:

TheTimeTravellerswife MrsBarlow Takethattart Icarriedawatermelon

or to be completely tongue in cheek and no reflection on you as you are gorgeous! how about uglybetty?

MrsFish · 28/03/2008 12:10

I'm liking Ugly Betty and Takethattart so far

I'll have a think, thanks

fatkatyslim · 28/03/2008 13:22

i don't know... shall we have a vote?

LoveMyGirls · 28/03/2008 13:55

Hi all,

MLP - You should have asked if your cm could pick dd up that's what I did for one of my mindees mums this morning (i did it a bit later than he would normally have been with me but at least she got some rest) and if she can't well at least you asked and she might have said yes!

Katy you got into size 10's but also a massive well done!!!

MrsF- i like any of the names mrsB wouldn't be far off what you have now so i think i like that one the best.

Well it's weigh in day for me today..........stood on the scales this morning they have been saying 10.10 (without clothes) all week (bearing in mine my clothes weigh 2lb and i was 10.11 last week) today i stood on them and they said........10.7 BUT i dont get weighed til 6.15pm so i'm expecting me to either have stayed the same or lost 1lb but fingers crossed i havent put any on!

So far today i've eaten

B-porridge
S- couple of mouthfuls of jelly
L- tuna salad (might have a yogurt in a minute)
D will be shepherds pie with a slice of WW cake my sister made for me! (won't be eating that until after weigh in!)

Will probably have to have some fruit before i leave the house as i'll be starving.

I've been chewing my food a lot more for a few reasons

  1. i saw a programme where if they chewed their food 32 times per mouthful they could lose up to 10lb in 4 days
  2. it stands to reason the more its munched the quicker it will break down and come out t'other end.
  3. I saw on jamie olivers programme how theres a muscle in your jaw that links to your brain and the amount of times the muscle moves tells your brain when you are full.

What do you think?

MrsFish · 28/03/2008 14:07

Makes sense to me LMG, it takes 20 mins for your brain to tell your stomach you are full, so if you eat slowly and chew your food more, you will feel full on less food than if you shovel it in and eat in in 5 mins flat. I find that if I eat a meal with my MiL I feel fuller on less food as she takes so long to eat I slow down too as I don't want to look like a pig

LoveMyGirls · 28/03/2008 14:09

I'm definitely giving it a try, god knows i've tried everything else lol!

fatkatyslim · 28/03/2008 14:10

sounds like a loss is very likely lovemygirls
i'll join you in chewing my food more.i always end up with indigestion after i meal as i eat quite quickly.
will be interesting to see how we do.

(whispers..i can get in a size 8 jeans..then legs it>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.)

LoveMyGirls · 28/03/2008 14:15

[hisses bitch and runs after katy]

I really hope you're right katy, I have tried really hard since sun night so i'm hoping it's going to be good news! Dp said if you have lost or stayed the same imagine what you could have done if you hadn't been really naughty at the wkend - well yes BUT I can't permantenly live like this I have to have the odd treat now and again. I'm going to be good this weekend though hence already cooking the shepherds pie and ww cake at the ready! If i treat myself it will be a couple of glasses of archers and a kitkat and then back to being good until next fri night!

fatkatyslim · 28/03/2008 14:21

pmsl

tell your dp that people on diets fail because they are trying to hard and then fall off the wagon big time.us ladies that have the odd naughty treat are doing it the sensible, long term way so the weight stays off

LoveMyGirls · 28/03/2008 14:26

BTW dp keeps asking me to stop biting my nails (a habit i've tried to give up since i was a child but do it without realising when im bored or stressed before i know it theyre a mess again!) he says it's because he wants me to have nice hands for when we go away for the weekend - he might as well write a sign saying i'm going to ask you to marry me and i want you to have hands to be proud of when i put the ring on, isn't he? right?? or am i just imagining it?

LoveMyGirls · 28/03/2008 14:27

Have also joined you in applying fake tan (though it needs doing again) and shaving and sorting LG etc so am looking fairly good! Also booked eyebrow wax and haircut in april! If i grew my nails dp said i could have a manicure too

fatkatyslim · 28/03/2008 14:31

yep,he's going to propose !!

a tip for nail biting,i do it too but i only bite my thumbs in a crisis.i need to chew my nails and just couldn't break the habit so i decided to allow myself to chew my thumbs.i have quite nice nails now and occasionally manage to have thumb nails too lol.
try it,it really does work.you'll need nice nails to show off your massive diamond

fatkatyslim · 28/03/2008 14:35

i'm getting my eyebrows done tomorrow and getting my hair done in 2 weeks.we know how to treat ourselves don 't we lol

i used the loreal spray tan last night.the colour looks great but i managed to miss my shin on my left leg pmsl.good job it's raining and i've got jeans on.

LoveMyGirls · 28/03/2008 14:50

lol!!

I use wilkinsons fake tan wipes then use moisturiser to rub it all in well seems to do quite a good job and only cost about £1.50!

I use cuticle oil round the edges to soften them then the nasty tasting stuff then hard as nails on top and it does sort of work BUT i need to do it every night and at the moment I just can't be bothered I'm so shattered! (eating less doing more school holidays and having to do even more washing, cooking and cleaning because the house is full of children all the time it wears me out!)

Today has been a bit more chilled hence me being on here more, only had my neice from 8am and baby mindee from 8.45 picked my step nephew up at 11am then baby went home at 1pm, nephew left at 2pm neice is going about 3.30 then I can really relax (well i could but the floor in here is filthy now so i'll no doubt be cleaning! Need to do some washing too) Plus have to look after my dd's but I have already put dinner on to cook and they are pretty good.

fatkatyslim · 28/03/2008 15:23

i'm on my 7th load of washing in 2 days
ds1&2 went playing football on the field yesterday, came in as it was raining and they were soaked, got changed and then went out again a couple of hours later.

plus i've stripped all the beds.i must be mad lol
if i tried to put on 'wet' fake tan dd would wake up and i'd end up half done pmsl hence the quick fix dry tan in a can.
it's last years though,i got it on special in boots as i can't afford the £13 it normally costs

just done 20 mins on my stepper while dd is asleep.i'm getting bored of it now though as i don't find it challenging.can't wait til it warms up and i can get outside

fatkatyslim · 28/03/2008 15:28

right i'm off.dd is stirring and dh has gone to work so looks like i'll have to play with her
speak later x

Jahan · 28/03/2008 16:03

Hi everyone!
Hope you are all ok.
I've been awol for a while (as was my diet!) but am back on track again.
I am pleased to announce that I have not gained any weight since I was on here last and am still 1lb off my 1st stone! Phew.
I am going to try to be on a dairy exclusion diet as I think dairy triggers of bfing ds2's excema so am going to try soya etc. yum
Will try to read through later.

LoveMyGirls · 28/03/2008 16:15

Hi Jahan nice to see you back again

You could try the chewing thing me and katy are doing?

mylittlepudding · 28/03/2008 17:05

How exciting LoveMyGirls!!! My dp would know not to ask something so unachievable but the ring is so gorgeous that it doesn't seem to matter how terrible my hands look!

Jahan welcome back!

Agree on the eating more slowly thing. I am terrible. DP on the other hand can take an hour to eat a main meal. He eats more than me, sure, but not THAT much more. I can't stand the thought of it all being cold though?

LoveMyGirls · 28/03/2008 17:11

MLP - don't get too excited, i'm not (yet - much!) i'm going to try and grow them, i've got a few occasions coming up this year and I would like to be looking my best anyway tbh.

As for eating more slowly/ chewing more I don't think it takes much longer than it normally would to eat plus when you're living on salad it can't go cold mlp!
