Thanks @BogRollBOGOF exactly that!

Happy with this week’s weigh in as I’ve lost a lb and the target is 0.5lb per week

Start (19/08) - 9st 8.8lb
last week - 9st 7.9lb
today - 9st 6.9lb

Gnomegnomegnome · 02/09/2023 16:12

Well done @Forgoodnesssakewhatnow

Gnomegnomegnome · 02/09/2023 16:15

I am down 1kg in a week.
Goal is about 3kg.

Had amazing gym sessions this week and have been focusing on protein although certainly not getting the recommended amount .

Verbenabon · 03/09/2023 20:18

Hi everyone, so I’ve been +1lb this week! There have been family birthdays and it’s the end of the school holidays so I’m cutting myself some slack. Setting up things for a good routine when my eldest is back at school and I’ve done 2 short workouts this week to get moving more.

well done on the losses this week!

Gensola · 04/09/2023 09:00

well done @Forgoodnesssakewhatnow and @Gnomegnomegnome 🥳

I am 136 exactly so 9.10, a 5 pound loss in 4 weeks, am pretty happy with that. Hoping for a good loss on Friday which is my official weigh in day with PT. 18 pounds to go to my goal.
have been enjoying the gym a lot.

Hi all. Lovely to have found this group. I am short and at 8st2 in 'healthy BMI' but I have lots of tummy fat. Does anyone have any advice for losing this? I'm aware you can't 'spot reduce' fat and I have a pretty healthy diet but I would really like to shift this belly fat. I have thin legs/arms but often look like I'm pregnant (I'm def not!).

I'm never going to stop my belly wobbling, I have too much post-baby/ EMCS overhang for that and it's never going to go by any natural, non-surgical means. What I can do is eat and drink well which keeps bloating down, and keep my core strong with exercise that make the most of my posture. Keeping the rest of myself strong and muscular helps balance my body overall, and helps me respect my body rather on dwelling on things that society considers as imperfections.

That possibly sounds a bit hypocritical but I'm wanting to lose some pounds in order to stay feeling comfortable and keep my body working well.

Back to routines this week... once I've done food shopping, back on to concentrating on food quality. It's more awkward keeping up with buying fresh food when the DCs are off. Plus they love beige. I've not done too badly, but I want to get back on it now and drop the distraction.

Weigh in day for me and I’m delighted to have lost 1.2lbs given my target is 0.5lb per week. I’m not even trying that hard at the moment. The only change is very little booze and eggs instead of bread at lunch. That’s not sustainable though because I’m not a massive fan of eggs and only like omelettes, and then not too often.

Start (19/08) - 9st 8.8lb
last week - 9st 6.9lb
today - 9st 5.7lb

Forgoodnesssakewhatnow · 08/09/2023 14:02

Thanks Gnomes, please do share any protein rich meals that you’ve been having - I struggle with getting enough too.

BogRollBOGOF · 12/09/2023 20:38

Back in full blown action this week and my first fast day (5:2). It's gone pretty well.

I've lost a couple of lb this week but my scales are saying I've lost muscle as well as fat. I don't want to drop muscle.

So making an effort to get more protein this week.

Gensola · 13/09/2023 11:58

I’ve been in a stall at 136 pounds despite doing everything PT says. Would normally throw in the towel now in a huff but I’ve signed up for 12 weeks with him (8 weeks to go) so I will soldier on 😄

Sugarfree23 · 13/09/2023 13:01

@Gensola are you changing shape? Take photos and or measure yourself.

A while ago I dropped about a stone, but I spent weeks changing shape before it. My aim at the time was to get fitter. I changed shape then started watching what I was eating.

BogRollBOGOF · 15/09/2023 18:49

Finally fully back in gear this week and have lost the bloaty summer gains which feels good.

Yesterday's fast day was a bit of a slog. I was recovering after a long run and the cooler weather left me feeling a bit depleted and cold. Hormones won't have helped either. I went for a late protieny breakfast with salad leaves and an early tea to compensate, rather than hanging on to lunch and dinner. I wasn't actively hungry with it though.

I'm glad I'm back on it and not too far set back from where life got in the way in July. I'm hoping the weather stays warmer for a while though as it's much harder when I get cold.

Fasting day is definitely harder with DOMS! I had a tough workout yesterday, so I'm really achey. Hopefully my metabolism is running high... I'm not being too strict with myself today, but still trying to make mindful choices about nutrients for energy and recovery.

The weather is definitely changing and getting colder.

Gensola · 21/09/2023 10:19

Threw in a couple of fasting days where I delayed breakfast to 11ish and had a savoury breakfast as per glucose goddess’ recommendation and broke my plateau finally, down to 134 today, or 9 stone 8. Very happy - hopefully this will be the start of some consistent losses. It has been slow - 6.5 weeks and 7 pounds lost but I guess slow and steady wins the race (hopefully!)
still a long way from goal (118 / 8 stone 6 or even 8 stone 4 if I can manage). hoping by the end of my 12 week plan I can hit a stone off.

Mintearo7 · 24/09/2023 17:49

I have been exercising in the mornings about an hour after breakfast, but to the point above, I’m going to try and eat breakfast after exercise to stretch my ‘fast’. I’ve heard it’s good for insulin resistance which I am susceptible to. I’m not paying too much attention to my weight atm, what to start this regime for about 3 weeks they weight after that.

Drivingone · 27/09/2023 19:44

Grrrrr I'm so annoyed with my weight gain! SO ANNOYED! Really glad to find this thread.

My BMI is now on the edge of overweight. This is bad. Wine, gin, snacks, cheese and big portions have caught up with me the past 6 months.

The damage...over half a stone. And today, my favourite jeans were too tight to wear.

My happy, happy weight is 8 stone but I'd be delighted to get down to 8.5.

So, 7lbs to go, will aim 1lb a week. I have to calorie count, that always works for me. My App says 1400kcal a day. I exercise but I won't eat back any calories.

Today, I've had around 1300kcal and a 10k jog. It's a start!!

BogRollBOGOF · 29/09/2023 19:30

I'm plodding on with my strategy of reduced calorie days and generally being sensible on the others.

My shape is changing, and my waist is returning. Little movement on the scales, but I'm also peak HM training, and permanently tired/ recovering muscles alway mask the glacial weight losses I make.

Since I got started, my inclination to snack has naturally gone down. I've started having breakfast after the DCs go to school and keep it more protieny.

It's slow, but I'm doing it the comfortable, patient way.

I'm hoping that I'll see a more obvious result on the scales when my muscles are rested just before my race.

That's really good steady loss. I'd be happy with that. What does your meal plan look like?

Gensola · 29/09/2023 21:27

Thanks @rolvus 🙂
I am now 132 pounds after 8 weeks of training & dieting so 9 pounds down.
I am on 1500 cals and 110g protein a day as a goal. A typical day would be:
B: 2 boiled eggs with as much steamed broccoli/kale/spinach as I want and 1-2 handful of fresh berries
L: fish (sea bass/tuna/sardines/mackerel) with veg/salad or a chicken / Turkey salad with roast veg and 10g nuts
D: chilli con carne with cauliflower rice/veg and chicken curry/prawn stirfry/ lentil and spinach dahl with prawns or chicken/baked potato with homemade sardine/mackerel pate and salad

I snack on skyr with berries or an apple/pear, or if I am really hungry a protein bar/protein powder mixed with almond milk and fruit. I try to limit these as they’re processed.
