Hello, so have just ordered Huel, have tried exante before which did work afew years ago, but weight has slowly crept up to a new high! Saw advert for huel and spur of the moment have ordered it. Has anyone else tried it and or doing it at the moment.
I'm starting a thread now as when I did exante we had a fab support group on here.
Current weight is 12st 9 would like to lose at least a stone.
Need motivation as just feel stuck in a rut! Can't seem to shake it off, I don't know if it's cause of age 46 and menopausal or just life has got on top of me!

I'm doing it at the moment, if I'm good and stick to it I loose around 2lb a week, that's with no exercise. I'm going on holiday soon so uping my game,😁

par05 · 23/04/2023 09:37

@Thatwouldbeme how long have you been doing it? I'm hoping I can stick to it! Are you just using huel or having a meal with it aswell?

Just read some reviews and tou can sometimes gain weight on this? I'm hoping if I just stick to huel I will lose weight!

I have one scoop of huel for breakfast and one for lunch and a normal meal at tea time, so far I have lost just over half a stone. A couple of weeks I stayed the same weight but I had eaten quite a bit of the wrong foods so I did expect that.

I did at first try two scoops but didn't loose anything.

par05 · 24/04/2023 08:06

Thanks for replying @Thatwouldbeme I should have my delivery today I hope. I'm just eating for the sake of eating st the moment, Don't really enjoy food but just binge ! Hoping with huel it will stop me sacking in between, and stop me eating rubbish! I have ordered some of the ready-made shakes, as well as the hot and savoury! So fingers crossed

Restarted Huel few weeks ago! Am having 2 scoops for one daily meal and trying to watch what i eat rest of the time... Havent braved increasing to 2 shakes a day yet as think the high fibre content is taking a while to get used to haha (compared to the white carbs I lived on during pregnancy anyway!)... couple of stone of baby weight to shift now (not to mention the lockdown weight lol)

Let me know what the hot and savoury meals are like as I just ordered the Black Huel powder so interested to know if other products are worth a try!

Thatwouldbeme · 24/04/2023 11:58

I'm on the black edition, strawberry and cream flavour, like I said I use it to replace breakfast and lunch, I only use one scoop for each meal.
Normally I'm a snacker, well to be honest I will eat anything 😬, I find I don't crave anything in between meals and don't seem to crave sweets either.

par05 · 24/04/2023 13:36

So had huel delivery waiting for me when I came back for lunch break, quite impressed with what i had, tshirt, savoury bowl and shaker along with it.
Only had a cup of tea this morning so was starving! Have just tried the ready made banana shake and it tasted ok a bit like the amoxicillan antibiotic liquid form.
Hoping it keeps me full.
@Bizzyone not looking forward to the wind and bloatin gas 🫣 and @Thatwouldbeme this what I'm hoping it will stop me snacking in between!

Also do you drink alot of water with this? When I did exante few years back we did have to drink loads of water.

OP posts:
Thatwouldbeme · 24/04/2023 16:09

I can't say that I do but it does make me dry, but I'm only on the black edition looks like your really going for it 😁

VincentVaguer · 24/04/2023 16:11

There's a reason the word Huel sounds like someone throwing up. I'm impressed that you can actually drink the stuff.

par05 · 24/04/2023 18:25

@VincentVaguer yep lol the banana one did taste of amoxicillan! I think because I've spent money I have to get motivated now @Thatwouldbeme I hope i can last.
Didn't feel hungry all afternoon, just now had tea with peanut butter toast.
surprised at how full I feel as feel like I haven't stopped eating last couple weeks!

Thatwouldbeme · 24/04/2023 19:47

@par05 well that's a good start,😁

Bizzyone · 24/04/2023 20:49

Ive got chocolate and also coffee caramel.. I find because you have to mix it with 500ml of water I dont feel really thirsty but am trying to drink more water anyway so hard to tell 😅

Definitely fills me up more than other shakes, altho at 400cals for 2 scoops I would expect it too 🙈

par05 · 25/04/2023 09:43

Hi so day 2 of Huel! Have had a piece of toast and tea for breakfast, shake this afternoon and hot and savoury tonight, did feel a bit of a headache this morning, but has passed now. @Bizzyone tried the hot and savoury last night one scoop and had to add a bit of salt other than that it was nice. Have got the cajun pasta one.

OP posts:
par05 · 26/04/2023 18:44

Hi so day 3 woke up with a mild headache again but did feel more energy throughout the day! Eating about 1200 calories a day have lost a pound so far. Just about yo have the cajun pasta now for dinner. How's everyone else doing

OP posts:
Thatwouldbeme · 26/04/2023 19:24

I only weigh myself once a week on Mondays, so will let you next Monday as I have started to do more walking

Bizzyone · 26/04/2023 21:03

Think I would die on 1200cals a day at the moment 😅🙈
I've lost half a stone in 4 weeks though just having 1 shake a day and eating normally (but not terribly!) the rest of the time...

Too nervous of the fibre impact to do 2 shakes a day 😬

par05 · 27/04/2023 20:27

Good luck for Monday @Thatwouldbeme and I actually weirdly don't feel hungry @Bizzyone alternating between one shake or the pasta at the moment, and have definitely cut down on snacking in between so that's good and on day 4 today will weight tomorrow morning as been 5 days, I wish I had the will power to weigh once a week but can't help hoping on the scales more often

OP posts:
par05 · 27/04/2023 20:28

And well done for losing half a stone 👏

OP posts:
SunnieShine · 27/04/2023 20:52

Don't know about losing weight, but I chuffing love Huel.

par05 · 27/04/2023 21:14

Do you alternate between the shakes and meals @SunnieShine
Is it sustainable?

OP posts:
PsychoHotSauce · 27/04/2023 21:24

I've had huel for years. I don't need to lose weight anymore, but I love it.

I have the hot and savoury for lunch every day. Normally I mix one scoop each of two random flavours for variety. Sometimes I add frozen spinach or 30g lentils.

I have a few of the shakes but I don't have much of a sweet tooth. I also miss chewing Grin but I've just discovered huel muffins this week. 3 scoops of any shake powder, 400ml of milk or plant alternative, 1 egg. Pour into muffin cases and in the airfryer for about 15 mins.

I haven't quite perfected them but I'm looking forward to trying. They're sort of the consistency and taste of soda bread and are lovely with cheese or jam, I need to think of other things to try them with.

par05 · 27/04/2023 22:00

Ahh that's good to know @PsychoHotSauce did you originally start it to lose weight? The savoury is quite nice I do prefer it to the shakes, but the shakes are convenient especially when I'm at work and no kids to feed at that time.

OP posts:
Bizzyone · 28/04/2023 09:02

You're all tempting me to try the savoury now!! Is there texture toit? I miss chewing with the shakes!!
