Ozempic new starters thread

Wondering if anyone would like to join me starting Ozempic. I’m doing my first injection tonight and am very nervous about reactions/side effects. I’m 5’ and 10.5 stones with very high blood pressure which medication is struggling yo bring down, high cholesterol and arthritis.

I would like to get to 9 stones realistically and ideally 8.5. I do seem to have unusual reactions to some medication so am really hoping I can take this without too many problems as I’m sure I’d be far healthier minus a couple stones.

everly. I am 5' and started at 10.5 st . I have extremely high blood pressure and am on max dose of 2 out of 4 meds for it and it's still too high. I have high cholesterol and severe arthritis in my back and neck and probs with extreme sweating . My rheumatologist says getting my weight down would be helpful. She hasnt given me a target but I'd like to be 8.7 to 9. I'm already finding walking a bit easier with half a stone off and am sweating less.

Franklin2000. That's a great start. I'm also finding I feel a bit queasy today for the first time in 3 weeks . Nothing bad though. I hope 0.5 won't be too much of a change regarding side effects. Constipation is dire!

That’s a good point for the new people - plenty of water!!

I really hope that this works. I have virtually no appetite at all this week and have had a few digestive “issues”. I’m guessing that’s my reaction. I am eating about half a cup of food before I feel full and stopping there.

ChiChaNaYubi · 06/05/2023 10:24

I did. my 3rd jab this morning. I feel completely demotivated to be honest. I’ve been eating about a quarter of what I would normally eat and doing more exercise and I still haven’t lost any weight. I feel like I’m just going to be fat forever and nothing is ever going to work.

mumwheresmyribena · 06/05/2023 10:35

If you're eating less and doing more exercise it's possible that you've lost fat and gained muscle. Muscle is denser than fat so if that's the case you should have lost cms. How do your measurements compare now to when you started? Or if you have a body composition scales what do they say?
Another thing could be that lots of carbs, particularly starchy, hi gi, simple carbs could be causing inflammation and you're storing water. What does your eating look like? Macros? What sort of calorie numbers are we talking about?

Also remember that it's only super-responders who are likely to see immediate results. The half life of Ozempic means that for the majority of people it's going to be 6-12 weeks before before it reaches a point that it's built-in to a steady-state in sufficient quantity in your bloodstream to be a true therapeutic dose.

Hello,
Does anyone have a code for a discount for Ozempic please?
want to get started asap!
love this thread.😊

SarahC50 · 06/05/2023 16:15

@ELR76 I've pm you

Cabbage4eva · 07/05/2023 10:55

It's great hearing everyone's updates. Congrats to those who are seeing relatively symptom-free success. For the commenters who are not seeing immediate results, I also had a slow start, only 1.5 lb off in the first two weeks. I'm now about 2.5 weeks in and suddenly lost another 3 lbs, for close to 5 lbs total since starting. Thrilled with this progress! Very minimal side effects of sleepiness, occasional mild headaches, a little bit of the sulfur burps and possibly some hair loss.

I am also wondering where to get extra needles. I took one of my remaining needles to the local pharmacy but they did not stock them. Anyone found needles?

Hopingandhopping · 07/05/2023 14:48

Is anyone aware of anywhere online that has ozempic stock? Lots of places seem to be out, I've ordered so far from health express but they are out of stock. Need to order my next pen so feeling a bit concerned

Whisper23 · 07/05/2023 14:57

@Hopingandhopping have you tried Juniper? They had stock a couple of days ago.

Hi I was going to try this with Juniper - does anyone have a discount code to try please?

I'm with Juniper and they're very good/reliable however I had a message on Friday to say that due to supply issues they have suspended the referral scheme - so not sure if they're refusing new customers as a result.

hopeidontforgetthisusername · 07/05/2023 20:34

Thank you @Lavendersquare the code wouldn’t work - I hope it doesn’t mean they won’t be accepting new customers

@hopeidontforgetthisusername I've no idea, but they're obviously not looking to encourage anyone with a discount. Good luck getting signed up.

hopeidontforgetthisusername · 08/05/2023 08:36

@Lavendersquare I will be a bit cross with myself if they have stopped accepting new customers as I originally started the sign up process over a week ago and then dithered at the very end and didn't complete it! Juniper have been sending regular emails to push me into completing the sign up so I can only blame myself if it is now out of stock!

hopeidontforgetthisusername · 08/05/2023 13:36

I have had a message to say i've been approved. They are now processing the order and I will be notified when dispatched.

Cabbage4eva · 08/05/2023 22:45

Thanks, @Whisper23 !

hotelmotelpremierinn · 09/05/2023 10:13

First weigh in and I've lost.... 1lb 😩

A bit disappointed as I definitely ate less and had quite crappy side effects. However, probably still ate quite crappy food and did zero exercise because I was feeling so grotty.

Fingers crossed I feel a bit better this week and feel like eating a bit cleaner and getting moving.

How is everyone else doing?

ChiChaNaYubi · 09/05/2023 12:37

I think if I don’t lose any weight with this pen then I’m going to cancel the subscription. Really gutted as I saw this as my last chance really!
