Colditz, that is brilliant. Very motivating to get to that first stone. Did you mean you have only 3lbs left to go? If so, wow! If not, well 1/4 of the way there then! So equally wow!

VVV, that is one of my all time favourite dinners/lunches/breakfasts. Were the sausages good? Have avoided sausages since starting but went to a table quiz on Friday and the supper served was Jkt Pot, beans and sausages. Couldn't resist!

Think should be this. Yes? Choc, Colditz?

Fedda, tell us again exactly what you had? And remind me what system you are following. I need all the facts before I start to shake you!

colditz · 12/02/2008 23:13

I've had a cup of hot choc, yes and really enjoyed it too.

fedda · 12/02/2008 23:26

Okay, B - poridge made with semi, 1 tbs of honey + grapes
11 - white bread with scrapped butter, cheese and grapes sandwich, tea with jam sweetened with concentrated grape juice
l - home made soup with broccoli, onion, carrot, garlic, splash of milk, 2 handfulls of oats
tea with the same jam, dried appricots
D - home made stew with fillet lamb's neck, carrot, onion, garlic, celery, baked beans, splash of ketchup + water; tea with jam
i'm going to have some water before I take myself off to sleep.
System I'm following - eat more fruit and vegetables, replace juice for water at a dinner table, walk for 30 minutes or more a day.

colditz · 12/02/2008 23:46

To be honest Fedda, the cheese, the lamb and the honey are going to be doing you no favours.

if you replaced the honey with sweetener, the cheese with thin ham and the lamb with chicken, you will definately start getting somewhere because the rest of the food sounds great.

cheese is absolutely loaded, as is lamb.

colditz · 12/02/2008 23:46

Am I getting it right that you put jam in your tea?

fedda · 13/02/2008 10:50

I'm afraid so / I absolutely hate sweeteners with the passion. Today - celery stick before taking kids to school; muesli mixed with granola cereal. semi. coffee with 2 sugars and a piece of fudge

ZippiBabes · 13/02/2008 10:54

i looked at this diet thread for no reason other than work avoidance tactics and now i am hungry

and like the sound of egg bacon and chips

what sort of diet thread is this

fedda · 13/02/2008 12:19

Well, you know how good is diet coca cola so why are you surprised?

silkcushion · 13/02/2008 14:04

Breakfast - an oatcake (didn't want porridge)
Lunch - ham sandwich (homemade) and carrots and chopped peppers. small milky bar - 1.5pts Lots of herbal teas and diet coke (which is no doubt rotting my insides as we speak).

No exercise today - 15 min walk I suppose. trying to work form home and look after dd - impossible really.

moodlumthehoodlum · 13/02/2008 17:53

Hello ladies -

Only half a pound loss to report, so will add it too the list. but unsurprising really. I just can't get into the same determined mindset as the last time I lost weight, I was so good at it. DS was sleeping off a virus this afternoon, so I was just hanging round the house nibbling at bad things.

Ags - sausages were surprisingly good considering they are BGTY ones.

Today I've had a banana for b/fast. 1.5 points
One slice of bread and butter and a cuppa soup for lunch 2 points.

Had a slice of bread and jam and a cereal bar this afternoon - 2.5 points. Plus 1 point for various cups of tea with milk and sweetener.

I've got 17 points left and I fancy chips in pitta bread

Be Good To Yourself Oven chips of course......

fedda · 13/02/2008 19:35

Today - celery stick before taking kids to school; muesli mixed with granola cereal. semi. coffee with 2 sugars and a piece of fudge; L - shop bought soup of root vegetables with pieces of lamb from yesterday's stew
d - roast chicken pieces in garlic, with garlic, lemon vegies boiled peas and cous cous followed by coffee with 2 sugars and snack size snickers. So, what's my score? No good, as I?

Ags · 13/02/2008 19:38

Ta VVV. Will grab a pack.

What is everyone doing tomorrow if celebrating Valentines? I will be at home and probably cooking something but haven't decided what yet. Maybe something surf n' turfy?!

Had such a yummy, naughty dinner. Spent the afternoon in the pool with dc and decided to go to McD's for tea after picking up dh from work. Had Filet o' Fish, Fries, 2 Nuggets and Curry sauce. It was a major blast from the past. Think I am reliving my childhood food memories on this diet!

Ags · 13/02/2008 19:39

Well done Moodlum. Half is a half!

silkcushion · 13/02/2008 20:08

watch me as I dive off the wagon into a pile of food and booze.

Feel totally p*ssed off. Working today whilst looking after dd was impossibly frustrating. Got half of what I wanted done. The electrician has been and pointed out that the wiring for our showers is illegal and dangerous (done by numpty previous owner of this house) - will cost £300 to put right. Dh's car was due to be picked up to go into garage for repair and they couldn't take it as back tyre is bald! Illegal to drive - more expense. I've had a period for 2 solid weeks - wtf??

Anyway dh home now with chinese and wine. Will wipe out all my saved points but I feel a good comfort eat is necessary

chocolatespiders · 13/02/2008 21:12

VVV -18.30 and you have gopt 17 points left
think you should hand them out to us all....

VeniVidiVickiQV · 13/02/2008 21:39

Too late - I had my chips in pitta

fedda · 13/02/2008 22:01

I'm staying in tomorrow. I'm going to get some nice cut of beef and cook it, don't know how yet. Any suggestions?

Ags · 13/02/2008 22:12

Silk, hope that chinese is lovely. Not a good day for the silk finances eh? And what is with the period? Is that normal for you?

VVV, very selfish IMO.

Fedda, depends on the beef really. One of my faves with a really nice piece of fillet is to roll it in crushed pepper, then blast it on a dry frying pan until the outside is a bit charred. Then thinly slice it, lay it on a bed of rocket and serve with balsamic vinegar (boiled in a saucepan and thickened) sprinkled over and half fat creme fraiche mixed with teaspoon of horseradish. It is really nice for a romantic evening. Served with nice bread and nice wine it feels very 'restaurant'. However, if you don't like rare beef it will not be for you. I think I might do this and also do something with prawns. Keep the whole thing on a finger food basis. Or am I thinking too much of 9 1/2 weeks?

fedda · 13/02/2008 22:18

Sounds lovely, Ags

loler · 13/02/2008 22:25

DH not back until midnight tommorrow so might cook myself a romantic meal and eat the lot myself!

Getting very fed up of the diet now. Although have managed the change my food buying habbits. No longer by cheese and huge bags of sensations crisps. do you think that this will keep me thin? How is everyone else keeping up the enthusiasm?

Ags · 13/02/2008 22:40

Loler, have you got much left to lose?

fedda · 13/02/2008 22:42

It helps to read the messages on MN and have a good old laugh. Then you read some sussess stories and get motivated. We all slip from time to time, we are humans after all. Cats know when to stop and they just refuse food when not hungry. We learned to eat for pleasure, boredom, cold days, unhappiness, happiness, loneliness, company - all excuses. Supporting each other and knowing that we aren't bad, we all make mistakes but we try really helps. You will achieve it because you want it to happen.
