“I started Ozempic last night” THREAD FOUR

1000 replies

HermioneWeasley · 12/03/2023 09:17

Can’t believe we’re on thread 4

welcome back to previous posters, and welcome to those who are new or interested.

a few of us have been on Ozempic with a range of experiences for a few months now, so if you’re interested in how it goes in the early days, the earlier threads might be a good place to start.

I’ve been on it for about 6 months now and have lost around 20lbs. It has been effortless. I used to be ravenously hungry all the time, and now I’m not. I had very mild side effects at first (just some nausea), but none now.

most of us have referral codes for various providers, so if you are starting, do ask on the thread and someone will PM you.

Day 14, and weighing in day for me, and I've list 10lb!!

This is a record, one achieved without fuss or diet food apart from the ozempic.

I've eaten all my main meals, albeit much smaller amounts but my between meals eating is now non existent and for the first time I feel satisfied most of the time.

I'm starting wonder if this is how normal slim people feel all the time, if it is they really haven't a clue what it's like not to be like them and how hurtful the never ending 'eat less/move more you lazy fatty' is.

I genuinely would have said that I was hungry when eating previously and hungry mid morning/afternoon with rumbling tummy as well.

So I used to be one of those people - I could essentially eat what I liked and maintained a steady, healthy weight (BMI around 21). But "eat what I want" was because I felt then like I do now on ozempic, I do and did get hungry but a small meal would fill me up until my next meal time. If I wanted sweet stuff, I had it, but I wouldn't have been able to finish a share bar of chocolate etc.

And yes, I thought fat people were greedy or lazy and should just eat less and move more. I was so wrong! But I think if you've never experienced it, it's really hard to understand.

Hi all such an interesting thread. Well done everyone.

What was your starting weight @missfliss?

Can you buy a 1mg pen from the off and then just administer 0.25 to
begin with (to make things cheaper)?

SmileLikeUMeanIt · 14/03/2023 10:15

DyanDeutsch · 13/03/2023 09:02

Here’s a question for all you experienced people. (Just some background). I live outside of UK and I was initially going to go with MyJuniper EU but whilst waiting for approval over weekend I decided to see if I could get it on prescription instead (reducing cost from €295 to €89). I got the prescription for 0.25 mg. The pharmacy have just called me to say it’s ready for collection but is a 0.5mg and told me I could start with that instead as there is a shortage of 0.25mg pens. Has anyone started straight onto 0.5mg? I checked with my doctor and he said it’s fine but from what I’ve read 0.25mg for four weeks is optimal. What are your thoughts?

I started on 0.5. The company I used showed this as the starting dose. I'm on day 6, first weigh in tomorrow. Appetite drastically reduced, not really had any side effects until yesterday but I overate as I was out for lunch and felt pretty sick for the rest of the night.

CalloohCallayFrabjousDay · 14/03/2023 10:26

So I just weighed myself and got a massive shock Shock I need to do something as even when I try a vlcd and exercise I still managed to put on weight...

Hit me up with some discount codes! Please 🙏🏻

Looking at costs, which company comes out as most reasonable?

I actually think it is, because I found when eating out I'll say oh no I won't have dessert I couldn't fit in another bite, this would never have happened to me prior to ozempic!

DutifulDaughterWifeMother · 14/03/2023 00:38

Athena51 congrats on the weight loss!!! How long did it take to lose the 5 stone?

Thank you. It's taken me about a year but I have taken some breaks to practice maintenance. Made it a bit slower but I hope it pays dividends later. I did have a lot to lose though and still have 3 or 4 stone to go.

Diedre44 · 14/03/2023 10:47

Okay, so I think I'm ready to take the leap. I've listened to sleep hypnosis over the last cpl of nights and think they really help give me a kick up the arse and I have to say this morning I feel ready for anything.
So can I ask if anyone has any discount codes for any sites? I have no preference as to where I purchase obviously cheaper the better 😉.
TIA

SpringIntoChaos · 14/03/2023 10:51

@SmileLikeUMeanIt what company did you use?

shoes4life · 14/03/2023 10:55

So...my BMI is 28 but I am bigger than I've ever been. I know it is supposed to be 30 or more but I've tried lots of things and being peri menopausal isn't helping. I'd like to try it - could I get it privately or would I have to lie re my weight?

SmileLikeUMeanIt · 14/03/2023 10:55

Virtual slimming clinic. I chose it partly because of starting on 0.5 and partly because it wasn't a subscription

ZiggZagg · 14/03/2023 11:26

I ordered mine last week but made the mistake of using Daily Chemist 🤦‍♀️ they have assured me that it will be posted out today with next day delivery, but won't hold my breath!

As an aside my DSis works in aesthetics and can get it prescribed so will use her from now on, just can't wait to get started.

I'm type 2 and BMI over 40. I've tried everything but just never feel satisfied or full so I'm hoping Ozempic will help!

nobody would advise you lie. You can try to get a prescription at your accurate weight though.

They say you are supposed to use it within 6 weeks of the first dose so it would not be advisable to do this as you'd be ending up with 16 doses so far too long. You could buy a 0.5 pen and use it for 8 weeks quite happily I think.

greenerb · 14/03/2023 12:45

I would also be very interested in discount codes too please 😊

@greenerb and anyone else that wants a code, I have a code for £50 off your first order with MyJuniper, pm me for details.

(Full disclosure I also get £50 if you mention me)

DyanDeutsch · 14/03/2023 13:02

If there is anyone here from outside of the UK, you could get an e-prescription from one of the online doctors. It much cheaper to purchase then. I have just gone through this experience so please message me if you would like.

Oigetoffmylawn · 14/03/2023 13:18

I've felt really off today. Woke up really lightheaded and faint. I've had (spread out from 8am until now) 4 boiled eggs, 3 slices of multigrain bread with butter and an apple. My mindful chef box and Asda delivery come later, so I'm light on food today! But tried to eat nutritionally as I can only stomach small amounts at a time! I think it's because I've not been able to eat much the last 2 days so my blood sugar is really low. But I'm day 4 today, so will be able to eat better today and moving forward.

greenerb · 14/03/2023 13:30

Thank you.

Are there any of the providers who definitely do not contact your GP?

greenerb · 14/03/2023 13:30

On myJuniper you have to provide your GP details, there is also a Rick box to say you'd like your GP notified, I guess if you don't tick it they won't contact your GP.

hereforthegin · 14/03/2023 14:08

@greenerb I've got a Manual discount code which gets us both money off of you use it, but no pressure: Manual.co/r/U-1qbXdfXfxm.

I used someone else's code to get set up too, it's bloody expensive without a code!

Others have shared codes for my juniper too up thread if you'd rather order from there. I think they start at different price points but it all evens out in the end.

Mine asked for doctor details and I was happy to give them. My doc was actually fab and helpful about it all and felt bad she couldn't get it on the NHS for me. I am pre-diabetic though.

I don't think you HAVE to enter doctor details though, it didn't say it was mandatory.

Mayfair didn’t ask for my doctor’s details I don’t think.

RainyDays8 · 14/03/2023 15:47

Hi all, I have just ordered 0.25 with Health Express. It says it will be processed by 4pm and delivered tomorrow so I am watching the order tracker anxiously!

pinkorchid1 · 14/03/2023 16:19

Hi, I just did my first injection today! So hopeful for his is going to work.
Silly question- do you keep the needles in the fridge along with the pen?
