“I started Ozempic last night” THREAD FOUR

Can’t believe we’re on thread 4

welcome back to previous posters, and welcome to those who are new or interested.

a few of us have been on Ozempic with a range of experiences for a few months now, so if you’re interested in how it goes in the early days, the earlier threads might be a good place to start.

I’ve been on it for about 6 months now and have lost around 20lbs. It has been effortless. I used to be ravenously hungry all the time, and now I’m not. I had very mild side effects at first (just some nausea), but none now.

most of us have referral codes for various providers, so if you are starting, do ask on the thread and someone will PM you.

@PSNonsense Like lots of pp I've completely gone off wine and all alcohol. Have been tested on various nights out and still don't fancy it! So so happy with this 🤗

Hi, would anyone be able to send me a referall code for Manual if possible please?

Or for anywhere else, as it looks like Manuel aren't offering Ozempic anymore. Thanks in advance!

I find it so odd how it affects people differently. I'm still fine to drink and still enjoy it! My taste buds don't seem to have changed at all.

PSNonsense · 13/03/2023 19:45

@zoinkss here's my manual code: manual.co/r/U-sdaEJqJCOS

Or there was a link in the previous thread that a PP posted for an initial one for £129.

Ceryneianhind · 13/03/2023 19:52

Any ideas how long 50lbs would take?

Starting next week on rybelsus

I only took it for 5 weeks as it disagreed with me but I have used the initial weight loss to kickstart a diet. I’ve now lost nearly a stone in 2 months and will stick with my healthier food choices going forward.

It stands to reason that if people don’t make healthier food choices for life when they stop taking Ozempic, then they will regain the weight (sorry). It’s not a magical cure for obesity any more than any other diet. But it does help people who are obese to feel more confident and physically able to start exercising more. And it can help to break bad habits.

The best thing you can do on Ozempic is to learn to eat healthy food that is high protein/low carbohydrate & don’t rush to drastically lose weight by barely eating. That tactic is not sustainable long term and won’t be teaching you anything about how to maintain a healthy weight when you stop taking it and your appetite returns.

That's such a good comment @Twiglets1

Twwodoorsaway · 13/03/2023 20:30

@HermioneWeasley thanks for starting a new thread, good to see lots of new starters too. It is odd how it differently affects folks, I’ve also not gone off alcohol but have cut down as I know how bad the empty calories are. We never drink on week nights, and now I only drink wine on Fridays and Saturdays, in the past I’d have had some on sundays too.

Interestingly late afternoon is my danger eating time, especially when I’m not at work. Some days I have nibbled, but then at dinner time I eat much less. In the past I’d have still eaten my full meal. It’ll be my first 1mg dose this week, on week 9, I’ve already lost 5% so I’m very happy with that.

Blondewithredlips · 13/03/2023 20:44

Would anyone mind sending me a discount code? Links given in thread for manual don't work unfortunately. Happy to try anyone...

NiceParkingSpotRitaThanksJanet · 13/03/2023 20:56

Hopefully receiving my first dose tomorrow! Ashamed to say I am 5 stone overweight, 2st up since having my son who is now 18 months old. Looking forward to seeing some changes and improving my health!

Oigetoffmylawn · 13/03/2023 21:02

Ah yes, the sulphur burps are back. Like a fart in my mouth. Great 😜

alwayscheery · 13/03/2023 21:11

Hey you can use mine if you like: Manual.co/r/U-1qbXdfXfxm

RichTeaCheddars · 13/03/2023 21:24

Yes, £129 is a good price. But after the first month it'll go up

PolkaDotMankini · 13/03/2023 21:37

I was looking into this earlier and would like to try it. I'm 5'4" and weigh nearly 14 stone. I run 3 times a week, take exercise classes at the gym and eat a varied diet, but way too much of it. Even if I'm not hungry, I don't want to eat, or I don't like what I'm eating, it's just compulsive. I hope that ozempic will help to break that mindset.

If anyone fancies sharing a discount code, I'd be grateful!

alwayscheery · 13/03/2023 21:45

I bit the bullet and ordered via manual the £129 for the first month. Now they want my drs details !
The other company allowed you to select no dr contact at £149
I don't particularly want them to contact my Dr do you think
They will let me cancel ?

They asked me for doctors details. I didn't give them so they sent me an email asking for doctors details to verify weight or a photo so I sent a photo and got approved. Still haven't given my doctors details and haven't had a problem. Obviously I will tell my doc if I get any bad side effects.

Manual asked for my GP details on Saturday then approved the order on Sunday, so there’s no way that they contacted my GP in that period. I wonder if they just keep the details on file?

Bakingmamma · 14/03/2023 00:24

So pleased to read others on here have sulfur burps too. I had no idea it was the ozempic causing it! 😂

DutifulDaughterWifeMother · 14/03/2023 00:38

Athena51 congrats on the weight loss!!! How long did it take to lose the 5 stone?

They are the pits aren’t they?

Simplepink · 14/03/2023 06:38

I will be starting soon, excited for this. Do people find adopting a 16:8 kind of method is a good way to go? So no brekkie, small healthy lunch than larger healthy evening meal?

I think everyone reacts differently to Ozempic so wait to see how you feel before deciding whether this way of eating will work for you or not. I always found I was hungrier in the mornings than the evenings. So I would eat breakfast and lunch but sometimes only eat a very small dinner.
What I do think is a good idea ( & I’m still doing it now) is to limit the number of hours you are eating for. These days I eat dinner early about 6pm and then don’t eat again until breakfast at about 7/7.30. Whereas in the past I would eat dinner later then still be snacking even after dinner

missfliss · 14/03/2023 06:56

I've been on Ozempic for a bit over 6 weeks now and coming back to report my findings.

Although I have plenty of weight to lose I do t have as much as some and actually Ozempic has now put me in the merely 'overweight' as opposed to obese category ( with a loss of 7 pounds).

I also run 2/3 times a week, and do weight training 2/3 a week at home.

Generally my appetite has changed massively.
I'm now hungry in the mornings ( never was before) and so always eat breakfast at about 9am just before work.

I'm hungry again at lunchtime and eat lunch.

I have a small snack at about 3 and then dinner at about 6 ( have kids!). My lunch and breakfast aren't massive and fill me up, but I generally struggle with much dinner.

I still have a little sweet tooth but have actually gone off chocolate in a big way - so sometimes I will have a few jelly babies. I only eat a few and I'm satisfied.

Generally though my tastes have changed and my diet is more balanced.

Breakfast now is blueberries, Greek yoghurt topppes with 2 tbsp oats and flax and cinnamon.

Lunch usually one slice dark rye bread with eggs or sourdough crackers with houmous and salad.

Snacks mini babybel or cheese slices

Sweet stuff - bits of fruit and occasional jelly sweets

Dinners - whatever we are having really big on a teeny portion ( I get full!)

Side effects - the dreaded sulphur burps and a bit of mild nausea. I was incredibly tired when I first started but that has improved
