“I started Ozempic last night” THREAD FOUR

Can’t believe we’re on thread 4

welcome back to previous posters, and welcome to those who are new or interested.

a few of us have been on Ozempic with a range of experiences for a few months now, so if you’re interested in how it goes in the early days, the earlier threads might be a good place to start.

I’ve been on it for about 6 months now and have lost around 20lbs. It has been effortless. I used to be ravenously hungry all the time, and now I’m not. I had very mild side effects at first (just some nausea), but none now.

most of us have referral codes for various providers, so if you are starting, do ask on the thread and someone will PM you.

Week two done! Another alright 1kg/2.2lbs loss, down to 75.4kg, considering I had a takeaway Friday night and Ikea meatballs and chips and a cake yesterday (although I only ate half of any of those meals). Will see if it slows down but it’s nice to be able to lose weight and eat carbs for the first time.

about 6.4kg/1 stone to go until my bmi hits 25! Then another stone after that, and whatever else I can squeeze off before dreaded wedding dress shopping.

Oops. Am actually 74.5 not 75.4.

OzempicClicker · 02/04/2023 11:46

I took my first dose of 0.25 on Thursday night and have only noticed a slight drop in "food chatter"/appetite. I snacked on buttered toast on both Friday and Saturday nights and felt a bit deflated. I even thought about injecting another 0.25.

But this morning at 07:30 about ten minutes after breakfast (2 medium poached eggs on 1 slice of buttered spelt bread toast, 342kcals), I felt a surprise wave of nausea and now at 11:45 I'm not hungry at all, so success?! Or at least things are looking up :)

msssm · 02/04/2023 11:53

Anyone got a code for quick meds please?

MotherofTerriers · 02/04/2023 12:30

I'd like a quick meds code if anyone has one please?

PSNonsense · 02/04/2023 12:40

I tried to cancel my second pen with Manual with the intent of getting bit cheaper elsewhere. They offered me £179 to stay which I redeemed. They've charged me full price which I'm quite annoyed about so I've cancelled. I take it Quick Meds are the cheapest?

EightMonthsScared · 02/04/2023 14:43

Um, grim question but has anybody had really explosive diarrhea whilst on ozempic?

I'm on week three and last night had some wine, cheese etc (it was Saturday!) and this morning, I couldn't make it to the toilet in time. That hasn't happened to me since I was about seven.

Anyway, just trying to figure out whether it was the ozempic or whether I've eaten something bad?

@EightMonthsScared I expect it's the Ozempic, I've had the same problem. It seems to happen roughly once a week for me and I've nicknamed it the poonami.

All jokes aside it is horrible but my weight loss 15lb in just over 4 weeks mean that I'm prepared to put up with it, plus I've got more used to the warning signs so can make it to the toilet in time.

EightMonthsScared · 02/04/2023 15:02

Thanks @Lavendersquare Thanks for reassuring me, really appreciate it.

It is worth putting up with if that's the only side effect (appears to be so far). I've felt fine all day, after 'the event'. I was just so shocked by it because I've literally not had that sort of er, bottom violence since I was small.

My dog was following me as I hobbled to the loo. He was quite concerned 😂

EightMonthsScared and Lavendersquare
I'm on dose 3 I've had diarrhea every day but one. Not explosive though, it's manageable. I have it regardless of eating exceptionally well, or after some wine and cheese. I don't have a gallbladder, wondering if that might make a difference. Mmm the glamour!

Aw bless him!
I didn’t get that particular side effect myself (more constipation than diarrhoea) but I believe it is a fairly common side effect unfortunately

Hi, I hope you don’t mind me posting on here but reading all your success stories has inspired me to start on the ozempic journey. I subscribed to My Juniper this morning and they have said I’m not eligible due to history of pancreatitis. Has anyone come across this issue? I had gallstones after pregnancy which led to pancreatitis but I had my gallbladder removed 12 years ago with absolutely no issues since. Does anyone know if this means I won’t be able use ozempic at all? I’m genuinely gutted.

That's odd, I had my gallbladder out a couple of years ago and put that into my consultation and I was prescribed Ozempic.

QueenJaneApproximately · 02/04/2023 17:46

Did you have pancreatitis with it? Which company have you used? (Sorry for all the questions!!)

Dontwanttowaitanymore · 02/04/2023 17:51

I've lost 2lb in total after 7 doses, 4 at 0.25 and 3rd 0.5 today. I've def cut down but it's like I'm on my normal 'not working very well' diet. Anyone else had this? I'm with My Juniper so they would be keeping me on 0.5 for an extra month.

FatAgainItsLettuceTime · 02/04/2023 17:52

I ordered through Health express.

I didn't have recurring pancreatitis but gallbladder was removed because I ended up admitted with it due to a severe gallbladder infection, I had one massive stone blocking the bile duct completely and IV antibiotics did nothing.

Brilliant, thanks - sounds very similar to me. Gives me a little hope. 😊

Each 0.25mg dose is 0.19ml of fluid.
The pen holds 1.5ml which is 7.8 doses at the 2.5 dose.
Usually you go up to 0.5 after 4 weeks so there is 4 x 0.25 and 2 doses of nearly 0.5 in the starter pen.

Ah cool thank you. So I would just need to do 2x 0.25 for two weeks following the 4th 0.25 dose?

greenerb · 02/04/2023 21:30

Anyone else finding the effects have worn off somewhat in the third week?

Yes, I went up to 0.5 a week early (last Weds) as felt in my third week of 0.25 I wasn't getting the same impact from my dose.

WeKnowFrogsGoShaLaLaLaLa · 03/04/2023 07:40

We are going to need a new thread soon if someone knows how to start one and link the old ones? I can't do it from the app I don't think.

Can anyone who has bought spare needles please post a link? I don't know which ones to get and don't want to get the wrong ones.

amoretti · 04/04/2023 07:16

Please does anyone have a discount code for any one of the suppliers?

Thank you

I've got one for juniper. Will message you.

mumwheresmyribena · 04/04/2023 17:14

@caringcarer They're 32G 4mm needles, it's in the leaflet that comes with the pen. I just searched Amazon for 32g 4mm ozempic needles. They don't have to be the same brand.
