Thread 1: www.mumsnet.com/talk/weight_loss_chat/4715040-lazy-pig-seeks-other-lazy-pigs-to-lose-1lb-a-week?page=1

We started on 9th January (ish) after we’d very heroically finished off the Christmas chocolate. We discussed our half-arsed plans to shift a bit of timber as we wafted our pudgy trotters vaguely towards the fruit bowl. No one really wanted to exercise properly because it’s too cold/wet/exercisey. We all love biscuits more than being thin yet we vowed to cut down on digestives. We promised, with our fingers crossed just in case. We owned our weaknesses, piggies, we owned them loud and proud and we were as determined as porky trough munchers can be, to aim for around 1lb a week weight loss.

And lo! Lazy Pig Club was born, hooray, and now we need a new thread. Let me know you’re here and how you’re doing, and new pigs are definitely more than welcome!!

Always remember our only rule and the LPC motto: “slowly, slowly - don’t make yourself sad”

Without wanting to jinx it, I'm doing ok ( for now). Think refusing to book a holiday until some blubber goes is helping as I really want a holiday but I don't want the rescue party being dispatched to deal with the beached whale 😬

Managed to loose just over two stone since January. Just need to keep it up now.

BaconAndAvocado · 15/04/2024 14:31

Greetings all.

I got back up to 10st 3lb a few weeks ago but have lost 3lb.
I too have a holiday to prepare for, albeit in October. Tried on a couple of bikinis the other night....oh dear. Recumbent or with a large shirt on it might be doable!

Two stone since January just gone?! That is AMAZING!! What was your start/target again?

@Mañanarama I've had a right old rollercoaster. I've messed around for so long losing a few pounds, putting a few pounds on ( pretending I was dieting) and not really making any progress, and ended up heavier at one point than my start weight ( I know, ridiculous). I used to be around a size 10 and ended up at a 16 at my heaviest. Now it's slowly coming down again.

Felt so miserable over Christmas that I just thought enough is enough. Been trying this intuitive eating ( bloody hard saying ummm, shut your trap, your belly is full or you're just board, don't eat)

Still have another couple of stone to go until I feel comfortable ( and i get back to the me I used to be and not the cuddly version I turned into.). On the bright side, I can feel my hips again 😂

Inchstonesbeatmilestones · 15/04/2024 16:05

Oh and clearly lost the ability to spell. Truly, I do know the difference between loose and lose and bored and board....... Must be the lack of calories muddying my brain cells 😉

Mañanarama · 15/04/2024 16:21

I am also a staunch advocate of intuitive eating, but that’s why I’m in this fine mess.

Hello hello, I joined the OG thread back in January '23 :O but I wasn't feeling it so I snucked out the pen and roamed in the wilderness snuffling all things and every things. I found myself making changes this year though. I've dropped 11lb, got a sustainable way of eating and my waist:height ratio is in the healthy range 🥳 only a few more lb to go. I wanted to share with people who get it. No-one in my life will care 😂

Mañanarama · 09/06/2024 18:15

I remember you @whatausername and I care! What are the main things you’ve done to drop almost a stone?! Well done!

I’m still hovering just over 10. Think any less that that is just going to make me feel shortchanged!

TheZeppo · 09/06/2024 18:48

Waves

Im still here. Am (miraculously) around the same weight as start of the year.

Could do with at least trying though 😂so here if anyone else is!

It sounds so cliche but I started choosing things that were less processed. I used to have a lot of UHPF as snacks and I found they just made me crave more and more even though the chocolate is mostly crappy waxy stuff that doesn't melt properly these days (looking at you Kit Kat Chunky). It wasn't that enjoyable yet I kept craving it? Madness. Felt like they were taking the piss. So in as a fuck you to Mars and Nestle (I'm sure they care 😂) I stopped the chocolate snacks. I eventually got over the cravings and that was that. Next I started homemade smoothies for breakfast and gave up the sugary cereals. That made a huge difference. I didn't want as many snacks and I started to recognise when I felt actual hunger rather than bored-hunger/habit/craving. So now it's a light breakfast + sensible lunch + dinner, sometimes a snack, sometimes not. Have had treats at times, takeaways now and then, wine, ice cream, meals out. But there's more balance because they cravings from the constant shit-chocolate input are gone. Only got about 3lb left to go and it feels pretty sustainable long-term

whatausername · 09/06/2024 20:00

@TheZeppo hi! Have you a goal in mind?

Mañanarama · 09/06/2024 20:07

@TheZeppo i would, yet again, really love to be comfortably under 10 before my holiday this year. Got about 7 weeks.

Can we both lose 7lbs by end of July? That sounds a bit extreme actually, given previous attempts. I’m going to aim for 4 or 5lbs. You up for it? @whatausername can keep us on the straight and narrow!

OP posts:
TheZeppo · 09/06/2024 20:25

I lost 20lbs in 2023 and have kept it off 🥰

Been steady for 6 months, but would like to lose a stone more.

Reducing UPF is a priority 👍

whatausername · 09/06/2024 20:41

@TheZeppo well done on keeping it off. Can't lie, reducing ultra processed foods is hard at first but the difference is night and day. If people offer me one I usually decline because they simply aren't enjoyable, haven't been for a long time really.

@Mañanarama I'm sure you can do it if you put your mind to it!

whatausername · 11/06/2024 15:49

@TheZeppo are we tightening up on our calories? I've been on nights so have been craving sugary things. It's getting difficult to hold off. I'm hoping an early night and some proper rest will help. I keep telling myself it is only my body seeking energy

Mañanarama · 06/01/2025 21:48

It’s been about two years since the first lazy pig thread and I’m not gonna lie, things ain’t changed much around here. Two years ago I was 10st 11lbs and I lost almost a stone on our ‘plan’ before bouncing back to 10.4 and plateauing the whole of 2024. Twas a tricky year with much stress eating. After a particular indulgent, nay gluttonous, Christmas, I am soaring back up towards 11. Why do I have fuck all willpower?

I’m going to try hard again (she says, weakly)… after this weekend.

Anyone still around and still stuck?

OP posts:
TheZeppo · 07/01/2025 07:12

I’m around! Not stuck. Went the other way 😂

lowest was 151 and I’m now 163. It’s all wines fault!

back on it now…

EyesOnThePies · 07/01/2025 08:57

I’m still around!

With another year’s Lindt chocs sitting round my tummy… like rings in the trunk of a tree.

I need a bit of a boot camp I think!

Aiming to lose 5lb over the next month.

Mañanarama · 07/01/2025 13:30

Good to see you @TheZeppo and @EyesOnThePies and secretly delighted it’s not just me!

I got a huge bag of Lindt pick n mix for Christmas, this was not a surprise as I picked it myself. I HAVE NOT OPENED IT YET which you might think shows restraint but in fact only shows that I got a ton of other chocolates that I’ve been troughing my way through.

Anyway, my aim is to be down to 10 by Easter and less than that by August. Thoughts and prayers.

OP posts:
TheZeppo · 07/01/2025 15:28

Oh, I’m now 161 😂

Small wins 😂

I want to hit 158 by Feb 1st. Dry Jan and calorie counting. It is definitely vino that has done me in!

TheZeppo · 07/01/2025 15:29

Boot camp is great 😂I fully intend to check in here to keep myself accountable

EyesOnThePies · 07/01/2025 17:27

You are doing well Zeppo!

I nearly succumbed to pistachio Lindor truffles as I have never tried them and saw them in the Sainsbury's pick and mix....I was too mean to buy a box.

However, Dc got massive Christmas box of Lindor truffles and has left them behind as there was too much to carry back to Uni. Shamefully I undid the bottom of the box to get two out...but I have put them away safely now and cannot burgle any more without arousing suspicion when they are collected in Feb.

TheZeppo · 08/01/2025 11:42

Mmmmmmm Lindt truffles…

I remember talking about those last time 😂so tempting, you’re stronger than I am!!

Mañanarama · 17/01/2025 19:54

Oh ladies, weighed myself this morning and I’m almost back up to my thread starting weight. Weekend away with 4 big meals and a fair amount of alcohol and I’ve just not stopped eating all week.

Has anyone tried Slimfast? Spotted some in the supermarket the other day and wondered about using it as lunch replacement?

OP posts:
TheZeppo · 18/01/2025 19:59

Not used Slimfast, but it sounds sad. So I say nope to it- nothing that makes us sad 😂

I eat Greek yoghurt with seeds at lunch. Or soup. Or a whole bar of Galaxy, on occasion.

I’m now 158 🎉
