30kg to lose. Who else is in this ballpark?

That's ambitions - I am 51 and it's taking me to my 21 year old weight. (On the other hand, when I weighed that - or anything lower - I was never ever satisfied)

Is there anyone else in that kind of region? I am seeing a lot of threads from the people with around a stone, or a stone and a half to lose

Wednesday 8/3/23

RedDoughnut -1.5 lbs
SeventyPounds +0.8lbs (15.2lbs lost so far)
InterestingMuch -0.4kg (3.8kg lost so far)

Down slightly and relieved no gain given my few days working away and a smashing double length, triple strength peri period to manage. Exercise is down with intermittent fasting and upping protein doing the work.

This is a tough time to be trying to be healthy when the weather wants you to load carbs and stay in. We are all not doing too bad considering.

freshstart49 · 08/03/2023 09:30

I'm a nightmare behaved all week then really enjoyed my weekend away so it's 5lb on !!!
My Fitbit is charged I need to focus ?

Amisillyornot · 08/03/2023 10:05

No weigh in for me - completely forgot this morning with all the drama with school on/off due to snow.
I did weigh on Sunday and put on 800 grams but on my period, so could be that.

SeventyPounds +0.8lbs (15.2lbs lost so far)
InterestingMuch -0.4kg (3.8kg lost so far)
Kirinm - stayed the same - 6lb loss

I know for a fact that is not right. I can barely move due to DOMS and I'm certain I've lost more. I'll weigh myself on Sunday or Monday and use that as a more accurate reflection.

We are meant to be out for drinks on Friday which have now turned into a meal. I'd really rather not but we've committed now. Need to try and limit any damage.

Badbudgeter · 08/03/2023 18:57

I forgot to weigh myself but I’ve been to the gym loads and stayed off booze/snacks so will be gutted if I haven’t lost something.

on another note does anyone else feel like their body has been hiding flab. I actually look quite nice from the front. Good boobs and an hour glass shape. I went to another gym today that had side mirrors and it turns out I’m barrel shaped with back flab a seal would be proud of. Very depressing.

pollykitty · 08/03/2023 18:58

Yes. All I can say is don't waste your money on 'noom'. I've been doing it religiously since January and lost a grand total of 2kg. Bit fed up.

TennisWithDeborah · 08/03/2023 20:24

I know what you mean about the mirrors @Badbudgeter For me, it’s the back view ones because I have that Edwardian bustle thing going on. I look like a wide load from the back, but reasonably svelte from the front.

Badbudgeter · 09/03/2023 07:21

I weighed myself this morning and 99.7 so up 700g, I had a big plate of leftover spaghetti for a late dinner yesterday at 9:30pm as I missed lunch and dinner and feel quite bloated still so am blaming that. Will have a detox day and try tomorrow.

kirinm · 10/03/2023 15:00

My weight might not be dropping as fast as I'd like but my fitness levels are really improving. I managed to run 4km without any walking. I think I'll manage 5km on my next run.

TrishTrix · 11/03/2023 20:59

I'm joining you.

Been putting on weight since young adulthood. Have never felt slim (although in retrospect I must have been when at university) so it incrementally crept on and now I'm terrified of getting type 2 diabetes. I did sucessfully slim about 10 years ago but it's gone back on plus another 10kg.

The fact my BMI is now >40 was also a hideous wake up call.

I need to lose a lot of weight (more than 30kg).

Restarted exercise almost a year ago. It's now an engrained habit. Yay!
But it hasn't shifted any weight.

So I'm now starting 16:8 again and calorie counting. Day 5 today and it's going OK.

NotOverTilWeHappy · 11/03/2023 23:03

Can I also join, Bit younger but still have just over 30kg and giving myself a 7 month time frame to get most if not all off by.. figured a few brutal months will be worth it in the end when I think of all the benefits at the other side!

RedDoughnut · 12/03/2023 10:37

@TrishTrix @NotOverTilWeHappy

Welcome!
Weigh in day is Wednesday. Of course weigh whenever you want but report in on Wednesdays

kirinm · 12/03/2023 10:53

Welcome everyone.

I think I'm going to prep food today for the week. I don't know why my weight isn't moving. I know I'm doing a lot of exercise so could have water retention but I can only think I'm going over calories. (I find that hard to accept but it's the only thing it can be)??

InterestingMuch · 12/03/2023 11:57

Welcome everyone. Still going here with the higher protein meals and intermittent fasting. Managed a walk this morning and hoping the lighter mornings will encourage me out of the door before I wfh each day. Hope you are all having a good weekend.

SameMeButBetter · 13/03/2023 06:37

I joined a gym at the weekend and I'm going swimming today for the first time in years- I ache just thinking about it!

Hope everyone's week goes well!

Kirinm - 1lb (7lb total)

jaspertown · 15/03/2023 09:46

Hi, I'd like to join you please. I am starting at 119.4kg. Long road ahead.

RedDoughnut · 15/03/2023 10:07

@jaspertown Welcome! I was 18.5 stones which is about 117 kg

I joined the thread as so many weight loss threads on Mumsnet are people who aren't properly fat.

I have lost one stone so far. We report our weeks weight every Wednesday. Of course weigh whenever you want but we are trying to keep track on Wednesdays.

RedDoughnut · 15/03/2023 10:12

I'm now diagnosed as anaemic. I'm on iron tablets but I have been too tired to exercise this week and I'm also having to think carefully about what I eat. I'm vegetarian so I'm now eating fortified breakfast cereal. An extra meal I didn't particularly want.

InterestingMuch · 15/03/2023 10:58
