30kg to lose. Who else is in this ballpark?

That's ambitions - I am 51 and it's taking me to my 21 year old weight. (On the other hand, when I weighed that - or anything lower - I was never ever satisfied)

Is there anyone else in that kind of region? I am seeing a lot of threads from the people with around a stone, or a stone and a half to lose

I’m in. I was 103kg but I’ve lost 4kg sibce Christmas so am 99kg. My 22yo weight is 72kg in my gym bunny days. My initial goal in to lose another 2 kg and then I will technically be overweight rather than obese. 🥳Then I need to lose 16kg to be in normal weight range again at which point I’m going to assess what is realistic for me now. I’ve given up booze and the snacking that goes with it and no eating after 8pm Which seems to be enough for the moment.

Badbudgeter · 02/03/2023 09:49

My mini target for March is another 2kg. I’d love to lose more. I’m aiming for sustainable lifestyle change though so it doesn’t bounce back on. Do I think I need reasonable goals

kirinm · 02/03/2023 09:55

I'd like 10lbs off but I'd be reasonably satisfied at 7lbs. Half a stone a month would be good

SeventyPounds · 02/03/2023 11:02

No specific mini targets for March, except to hang in here through a number of different trips away I have schedulled (e.g. this work one, and then some family visiting the week after next).

My next mini target is to look and feel good for a family wedding at the end of April. Ideally, another 15lbs lighter.

Amisillyornot · 02/03/2023 12:20

@RedDoughnut I have lots of mini targets:

6 pounds by Easter
another 6 pounds by End of May
another 4 by end of June
another 4 by end of July
This will bring me to my target weight (hopefully beach body) for my holidays to Mauritius...fingers crossed

kirinm · 03/03/2023 09:28

I've been unwell since about 2 hours after my last personal training session on Tuesday which is really infuriating!

Still sticking to calories but I do miss the workouts - not something I thought I'd be saying a couple of months ago.

Amisillyornot · 03/03/2023 09:40

@kirinm - sorry to hear that - hope you feel better soon x

RedDoughnut · 04/03/2023 10:17

Hope we all have a good weekend without too much deprivation!

@kirinm are you better now?

I wanted a treat last night and found myself weighing out some chocolate raisins, where as I'd have just eaten what a fancied before. This made me appreciate them a lot more.

Nothing planned in the Doughnut house this weekend which is a wonderful feeling

I'm a bit better thanks although heavily reliant on day nurse. No chance of exercising as my chest is tight (asthma) but hopefully I'll be good for next week.

It's my birthday tomorrow and I'm off to meet my family for lunch. I don't have a huge appetite due to being unwell so hopefully not too much dander 🤞🏻

kirinm · 04/03/2023 10:57

Well done on the weighing! I think that's how strict I need to be.

SeventyPounds · 05/03/2023 09:04

Am still on plan but my daily scales show I am somehow 1.5lbs heavier than my previous low - and it hasn't budged for about five days.

I am about due a period so maybe that's it.

It's very frustrating and there had better be a 'woosh' day soon, when it all goes again Grin

RedDoughnut · 05/03/2023 09:33

@SeventyPounds

I've had days like this too. It's so annoying and disheartening.
I want rewards for my sacrifices!

kirinm · 06/03/2023 09:01

How's everyone doing?

I think I'm going to try lowering my calories this month. Just by 250 a day and see if that makes any difference.

Still got this annoying cold but think I can manage personal training today. Aiming for 4-5 workouts this week

SeventyPounds · 06/03/2023 10:43

I'm doing okay @kirinm - though you wouldn't be able to tell by looking at the scales Grin

My stubborn 1.5lbs remains and I suspect will not be gone for Wednesday, so it'll be a poor weigh in for me, this week.

RedDoughnut · 06/03/2023 12:08

I'm the same weight I was on 25/2.
I went up and down and back up again.

I think my excessive menopausal periods are making me anaemic so I'm not working out this week until I can sort a blood test out with my elusive GP practice.
I'm already taking ferrous sulphate.

I'm determined not to give up/ give in.
Thanks to all sticking with the thread and giving me a place to talk.

TennisWithDeborah · 06/03/2023 12:13

I weighed this morning. 8 weeks since I started intermittent fasting 16:8 and fitness training (I eat what I like in the 8 hour window). 18 libs loss in total. Very pleased with that! If I calorie counted I theoretically could have lost more, but I wouldn’t have stuck to the regime because I like bread and pasta too much. What I’m doing works for me although evening fasting has been tough to get used to.

RedDoughnut · 06/03/2023 13:26

@TennisWithDeborah That's a very good result.

How much more do you want to lose?

kirinm · 06/03/2023 14:07

Had quite a light PT session and I feel totally wiped out. I think this cold has affected me more than I realised.

@RedDoughnut hope you can get some treatment for the anaemia. I can't help but think that women really do a raw deal with periods followed by peri and then menopause. I'm slightly terrified about menopause.

thank you! I want to lose a further 35 lbs but a further 23 lbs is my interim target for summer. Getting there slowly but surely!

kirinm · 07/03/2023 10:01

I don't think weighing on a weds is the best for me. I have my PT sessions on a Monday and Tuesday which means by Wednesday I have DOMS / water retention in most of my body. I don't think I'll have lost anything by tomorrow.

RedDoughnut · 07/03/2023 10:38

@kirinm pick a day that's good for you and just tell us on a Wednesday

Good idea. I'll weigh tomorrow anyway but I think either a Monday or Sunday is best for me.

RedDoughnut · 08/03/2023 07:33

Wednesday 8/3/23

RedDoughnut -1.5 lbs

RedDoughnut · 08/03/2023 07:36

I'm a bit disappointed but I haven't done any exercise since Friday because I've been feeling unwell. I suspect I have anaemia. I've been bleeding heavily for ages ( waiting for gynaecology) and I think over the weekend I tipped into anaemia despite iron tablets.
I am booked for a blood test so I will see in a week or so.
NHS is grinding slowly

Still going to plod on with eating less though

SeventyPounds · 08/03/2023 08:21

Wednesday 8/3/23

RedDoughnut -1.5 lbs
SeventyPounds +0.8lbs (15.2lbs lost so far)

My stubborn extra weight has refused to shift now for a week. I'm just stuck bouncing around the same 1/2 lb range. Very frustrating! But I haven't eaten anything to 'deserve' it so I have to figure it will right itself sooner or later.

I am also away next week, so I won't be here for the weekly weigh in but will check in when I get back at the end of the week.

@RedDoughnut please don't feel bad: you are doing great, considering you are not well and almost certainly need the rest. To keep eating right is pretty impressive on its own.
