30kg to lose. Who else is in this ballpark?

That's ambitions - I am 51 and it's taking me to my 21 year old weight. (On the other hand, when I weighed that - or anything lower - I was never ever satisfied)

Is there anyone else in that kind of region? I am seeing a lot of threads from the people with around a stone, or a stone and a half to lose

@caffelattetogo it is bonkers sometimes. I’ve lost weight during periods of alcohol/food-fuelled nights out, and my weight has remained unchanged during more diligent periods. Inexplicable.

@AndClementine Yes to the hunger. I struggle with needing food in the evenings. My willpower is being tested! But I remember how far I’ve come and I resist (usually!). 35 lbs lost since 9/1/23.

@TennisWithDeborah that’s a huge loss, congrats!

My losses are always small and maybe I should be doing more. I don’t mind being slow and steady though, as long as I’m in a better place a year from now.

And those small losses have now added up to losing 5% of my body weight! I don’t think I look different, but losing 5% is good for my health and hopefully I can make it to 10%.

kirinm · 10/05/2023 09:01

I'll start. It's a gain unfortunately but probably very deserved. I'm going to use it as motivation to reverse it this week.

SeventyPounds +2lb (-25lbs total).

Still staying with the round numbers this week! However, 2lbs on Sad

I think that's a combo of eating a bit more than usual over the coronation due to street party PLUS I finally started running and did several hours hard gardening at the allotment. This has left me with achy muscles so maybe there is some water retention also.

Onwards and downwards, as they say Grin

Oops missed your post @AndClementine

I do have DOMS and am due on in a couple of days so the gain might not be as big. Still trying to find a routine having started a new job but my food has been pretty poor.

Posting today for accountability more than anything else. Wine and cake were back on the menu and even lots of steps were not enough. Back on it tomorrow.

kirinm · 10/05/2023 17:20

@RedDoughnut come back! I hope you're okay.

RedDoughnut · 15/05/2023 10:45

Peers around the door...anyone home?

I'm going to catch up on everything in a minute but just wanted to come back and start again.
I've had a miserable couple of months with anaemia and a few other health things. Thankfully nothing major but I lost all positivity.

I'll weigh on Wednesday for my fresh start.

Today I made a real effort to start healthily.
2 slices of toast, 2 poached egg and some avocado.
This is more than I'd normally have but at the moment ( just today so far) I'm going for healthy choices over weight loss.

Welcome back! I'm also having to reset after a dodgy few weeks and kind of losing willpower. Hoping for a good week this week.

SeventyPounds · 15/05/2023 14:58

I've had a very bad week so Wednesday is not going to be pretty. I have pretty much eaten what I like (which is everything) since last Wednesday.

I'm back to it today, but my numbers won't be anything to write home about...

welcome bad @RedDoughnut !

Good morning everyone and welcome back @RedDoughnut !

Stresses seem to be piling on and I nearly gave in to emotional eating very late last night. Then I realised that the whole point is to break that pattern and so managed to stop. I don’t have anything to replace it with though and worry I’ll give in one day.

RedDoughnut · 17/05/2023 07:46

I've weighed in ready for next week.
I've gained back 11lbs.

We will see what this week brings.

No excuses this week. I just simply lost my way and ate too much. However, I am determined to keep trying at this and, to find a silver lining, I HAVE kept up running regularly and my step count has been higher lately than ever. So I am moving more.

I've just been eating more as well Smile

some great efforts on this thread. And some big lifestyle changes with diet & exercise. Very impressed.

i’ve been struggling as I stepped off the calorie counting / healthy diet for some weekends away and then had a disastrous coronation weekend when I ate a whole cake (my guests canceled, none of my neighbors were about, so I ate it)

finally managed a reset with some healthy food and am pretty much back to baseline but work has been brutal with three really long days so I’ve missed my regular spin classes this week and been unable to fit in any others. 😞

Not too bad after a weekend away and a colleague’s retirement dinner yesterday. Could’ve been worse

AndClementine · 22/05/2023 09:27

I’ve managed to put on 1 kg from last week and I don’t know how. I’ve been ill and normally that’s when I start feeling sorry for myself and eating more. I felt like doing it this time but refrained from the late night bingeing so I feel even more disheartened that I’ve put weight on anyway. I was feeling really proud of myself for not giving in as well.

RedDoughnut · 22/05/2023 12:42

I'm still finding things a struggle and haven't found the motivation I had before anaemia. Even though my iron levels should be fine now I haven't got the energy I did have.
I have various medical appointments coming up over the next few weeks so I'm comfort eating.

Although that's not an excuse, it's been a wasted few months.

TennisWithDeborah · 22/05/2023 13:50

I find it inexplicable sometimes. I have a stellar week of heathy eating and exercise, and disappointingly I lose nothing. Then I have a broadly good week but with a couple of big nights out (lots of food and wine) and reduced steps, and manage to lose 2lbs. It’s so weird. Unreasonable!

I always think it must be water weight in these kinds of situations.

My 'logic' is that illnesses almost always involve inflamation somewhere, somehow. Inflamation must require water to achieve it. Therefore, my body must be holding onto extra water to fuel the inflamation.

kirinm · 23/05/2023 09:06

Hmmm. Scales suggest I've put 5lb on since Friday. I'm guessing that isn't true but very demoralising.

I hope that’s true @SeventyPounds as I’m scared to weigh myself today and tomorrow. I wonder if that’s what happens when I’m ill normally. If I feel larger, then lose motivation and eat which leads to actual gains.

Let’s see if I can sort myself out over the next few weeks.
