Lazy pig seeks other lazy pigs to lose 1lb a week.

Ok, this starts on Monday, as I have a steak pie and mash and yorkies to eat tomorrow. Will also heroically finish the Christmas chocolate so it’s out of the house. Once that’s all achieved, I’m good to go.

I need and must lose at least one pound a week until April. That’s about a stone.

Shouldn’t be too hard, right? Wrong. I’m basically fucking lazy, I hate exercise, hate going out in bad weather and am a total gluttonous food guzzling pig. And probably peri menopausal. And I sit at a desk all day. And a million other pathetic excuses why I’ve not shifted this weight in 2022 like I said I would.

I can’t be the only one who’s got sod all willpower, so who’s up to being fully accountable to this thread?

Lazy pigs like me especially welcome. Weigh in Monday morning.

Thank you so much @Mañanarama for starting this thread .It's such a help to be with like minded piggies and not feel so awful about myself all the time .
Post's like @Octopus45 really resonate.

Is eating 5 biscuits better than half a swiss roll ?Of course it is because Mr Nairn says that they are 40% less sugar .
Whisper it ,40% less than the average sweet biscuit .So 48 calories per Mr Nairn compared 98 calories per shortbread finger

www.sainsburys.co.uk/gol-ui/product/healthier-biscuits/nairns-salted-caramel-oat-biscuits-200g

I don't need a calorie counter .If my mouth decides it's yummy it's high in calories.

Lost another pound (two in total since 2/1/23) unfortunately DH told me according to his phone I was 4lb lighter in October. Feel pretty flat I put on 6lb in three months without much effort. Why does it go on so easily and creep off so slowly?!!! 🤣

HamFrancisco · 21/01/2023 12:20

It's definitely helping me too, being with like-minded piglets. Some of the other diet threads are quite full on for those of us who fear deprivation.

amberedover · 21/01/2023 13:55

That's it exactly .Thank you for putting your finger on it .That and the guilt.

MillenialAvocado · 21/01/2023 14:32

The good news: I've lost 8lbs since New Years. Hooray! The bad news: I am very very grumpy today and want to eat my weight in carbs. Pray for me, fellow oinksters

BaconAndAvocado · 21/01/2023 17:02

Fellow Lazy Pig joining you all today.....well, Monday as we’re having a takeaway tonight 🤣

I feel bloated, fed up, fat, unhealthy, guilty about eating so much crap.......

Need to break my sugar habit but not completely - for me, that’s unrealistic.

I’d like to be in a place where I eat healthy meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner (generally the case now) but then don’t overeat between meals. Just limit myself to maybe 2 snacks a day......god, that sounds so hard but I need to do it.

I’m peri menopausal...not sure if that’s relevant but I’ve never been this addicted to sugary snacks before.

HamFrancisco · 21/01/2023 18:01

Blimey @MillenialAvocado that’s fantastic! Well done!

Hello @BaconAndAvocado good to have another porker on board.

Readytostartagain · 21/01/2023 21:42

Can I join in too please? Peri-menopausal but tbh been overweight my whole life but now getting to the age where I fear the health consequences. I can’t cope with anything too strict as it just makes me sulk and refuse to do it. What I need is a diet that I don’t really notice is healthy or to fall madly in love as that could be the only thing to distract me from shortbread

vicaragechristmas · 22/01/2023 09:51

Hello all, I had Sod It Saturday yesterday as I had a long day at a theological college and missed the train home, but I did so much exercise (only walking) that my calories worked out as still under my target despite stuffing my face with junk!

Vestry Mouse update: yet again it has stolen the sweets and not been trapped. DH is now beginning to suspect the servers, who all deny it and have pointed out that it’s very convenient that he "has to" bite chocolates in half to leave out on the mouse trap…
🤔

BazingaBaby · 22/01/2023 10:07

@vicaragechristmas the vestry mouse sounds like he deserves treats for being so sneaky!!

So weigh day for me and according to my scales I've lost 4.5lb in total this week! I'm in shock. I've been relatively good food wise although I haven't really avoided anything in particular. I've been cycling to and from work and seeing a change on the scales is very helpful for my mindset to keep that up I think (especially when trying to cycle in -4 degrees while watching my OH hop into his car each day!)

Very much loving the 'slowly slowly don't make yourself sad!' and so glad it's not just me who gets easily overwhelmed with guilt and fear in the other diet threads.

EyesOnThePies · 22/01/2023 10:23

Remember the slowly motto, provided we’re overall on a downward trajectory, that’s better than being sad and falling off the wagon.

This is key!

Still making very slow progress here, only 600g down since I joined the thread, but if I am moderate over the next couple of days the number of whole Kgs will be one down, and that gives me great satisfaction and motivation.

I would be doing better if our book club was not fuelled by cheese, cheese, cheese and wine but that’s life!

BazingaBaby · 22/01/2023 12:02

@EyesOnThePies the wine I could leave but cheese is definitely one it's difficult to say no to!

EyesOnThePies · 22/01/2023 12:17

BazingaBaby · 22/01/2023 12:02

@EyesOnThePies the wine I could leave but cheese is definitely one it's difficult to say no to!

Unfortunately my enthusiastic approach to wine meant that any resolve to go easy on the cheese flew out the window. And I hit the leftover thingy-kucken treats from Christmas- those little chocolate covered cakey hearts with jam inside, when I got home.

But that was Friday and I have been back on track since.

BookWorm45 · 22/01/2023 14:14

@Mañanarama and all the rest of the Oinksters - you have made my day ! reading through this thread this morning (while sitting on the sofa, don't want to overdo it) has been hilarious and also encouraging.

Gradual change needed for me to gain strength and flexibility and to reduce clothes size (currently a 22). The icy weather hasn't helped with in the last week as I am a total timorous mouse when it comes to sliding on ice and falling over - too much of an easy excuse not to do any walks....... But having polished off various dark choc Leibniz biscuits which had mysteriously got into our kitchen cupboards, time for a (1lb per week) change !

EyesOnThePies · 22/01/2023 14:53

‘Ey up @Readytostartagain and @BookWorm45 .

Welcome to Piggies. Small achievable changes, fund your own method that suits you best, no misery (not more than absolutely necessary, anyway) celebrate each success, sometimes we fall head first into the trough but tomorrow is another day!

@amberedover I love those Nairn Oat Biscuits. I am sure they are an official health food. I like the salt caramel and the ginger.

Whatsthisthing · 22/01/2023 15:17

I am a pig. May I please join? Menopause got me and rolled me in about 4 stone of fat and chucked me out the other side.

You'd make some good bacon.

Welcome!

That made me laugh whatsthisthing .I reckon laughing has got to burn more calories than just breathing ,so that's a win Grin

Inchstonesbeatmilestones · 22/01/2023 17:05

Evening all,

Resisted the urge to be a pig in blanket (staying curled up on the sofa), and took a long walk with the other half and the youngest instead. Nearly killed myself pushing his wheelchair up an incline but at least it prevented me sliding on my backside on the icy ground.

Have some making up to do this week as fuck it Friday merged into sod it Saturday but back on it today 😬

HamFrancisco · 22/01/2023 18:03

Ugh, anyone else got hideous Sunday Night Dread? Work is shit at the moment and the thought of working tomorrow is shite.
I love those Nairn biscuits too. Ruddy delicious.

@HamFrancisco - yes, me and I don’t even work but my DS is getting very anxious about school tomorrow (he struggles and hates it and has GCSE’s this year). I’ve had a lovely family orientated weekend and I just want to stay in my bubble! I am pretending it’s not Monday tomorrow and having a large vodka and tonic to eke out the very last dregs of the weekend.
I finally put the batteries in my scales and weighed myself on Friday - 10st 13.4 It’s the heaviest I’ve ever been 🙁 Onwards and downwards ...

Inastatus · 22/01/2023 19:32

Just had roast pork for dinner, sorry piggies 🐷 Only one roast potato though 😇

Mañanarama · 22/01/2023 20:28

Good evening meine kleine schweine (long time since I did German) hope you’ve all had a not sad* weekend. I had a huge meal out yesterday (then finished the kids food) so have tried to be better today. Feeling porky though.

See what tomorrows weigh in brings!

*unsad?

Roast dinner here too. Chicken, so no cannibalism this week. Actually, there was some potential cannibalism in the form of pigs in blankets. Potential as in I abstained 😇
Plan to weigh in tomorrow for start weight (Oh shite) and then Fridays will be weekly weigh ins.
On weekly shop today, the only biscuits I bought were Rich Tea, AKA World’s Most Virtuous Biscuit.
The hell hound is getting castrated on Tuesday so I’ll be housebound for a few days....will be temptation so I bought lots of fruit and NO CHOCOLATE.

poshme · 22/01/2023 23:10

Well I'm starting again tomorrow.

Cold weather means I eat more. Loads of carbs today. And wine. Sigh. But no biscuits! And only 1 piece of small toblerone.
