Lazy pig seeks other lazy pigs to lose 1lb a week.

Ok, this starts on Monday, as I have a steak pie and mash and yorkies to eat tomorrow. Will also heroically finish the Christmas chocolate so it’s out of the house. Once that’s all achieved, I’m good to go.

I need and must lose at least one pound a week until April. That’s about a stone.

Shouldn’t be too hard, right? Wrong. I’m basically fucking lazy, I hate exercise, hate going out in bad weather and am a total gluttonous food guzzling pig. And probably peri menopausal. And I sit at a desk all day. And a million other pathetic excuses why I’ve not shifted this weight in 2022 like I said I would.

I can’t be the only one who’s got sod all willpower, so who’s up to being fully accountable to this thread?

Lazy pigs like me especially welcome. Weigh in Monday morning.

That’s brilliant @LazyPig but I know what you mean about pushing you off the rails! Just keep going, whatever you’ve done this week is definitely working!!

I’m a bit of a grumpy pig today. Not sure I can keep the fuck-it monsters at bay. Meh.

Thanks fellow Pigs - ugh it's just so frustrating, but you're right. I need to look at the bigger picture. I just want it to all fall off at once. If the weather would improve that would help my mood, but it's hard getting motivated to go out in the rain with a 1yr old.

I've noted my weight now sporadically since 2013, and I'm like a bloody yo-yo. Ketosis is what gets me down really quickly, then I struggle to maintain because I just love food 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Undisclosedlocation - which App do you use?

Undisclosedlocation · 14/01/2023 11:13

The app is….. Happy Scale

there is a paid for, fancy upgradable version and a free one. The free one works just fine for me

I challenge anyone to go slower than me - I've started thinking about digging the scales out .
But I am loving this thread because it's witty and honest and loosing one Lb a week sounds achievable .
Go us .Slowly of course .

@Theheartmustpausetobreathe - well done, you have managed to beat me! I have got as far as digging out the scales but as yet the batteries for them remain in the kitchen drawer!

That's a surprise. I met the target.

EyesOnThePies · 14/01/2023 13:21

WoooHoo @whatausername !

@LazyPig Nah - this kind of thing is normal! You are doing well. The overall downward slope is spiked with little up spikes, like trees on the silhouette of a mountain side. Daily weight can be affected by loads of things - salty food the night before causing water retention, hormonal water retention, the Contents of Your Bowels (da Da DAAAAA), sometimes I think I must be breathing heavy air.

LazyPig · 14/01/2023 14:47

@EyesOnThePies - heavy air! Yes! I think that's exactly what's happened. Perhaps I shouldn't breathe so much....

I had a vodka lime and soda. At lunchtime. To go with my keeenwahhhh salad with avocado and grilled chicken.

I never drink at lunchtime but I feel that I needed to today.

whatausername · 14/01/2023 14:54

Do we think if I became even remotely active it would help make the loss a trend? I don't want this week to turn out to be a fluke 😱

I'm a bit late to join the pigs. Had to finish the Christmas chocolates etc.
Weighted myself on Friday and I'm 13st 7lb at 5ft 2 that's obese.
Went for a couple of miles walk yesterday. Will go walking again tomorrow.
Is it ok to have a Chinese tonight.

@Nanatokidsdogshampsters - of course you can have Chinese - it is Saturday after all!

Not sure... I always find the pain of being active is followed by the quick kick in the guts of the scales going up 😮‍💨

StephanieSuperpowers · 14/01/2023 18:23

I put that down to my old bones just not being suitable for that kind of thing and swelling at points. Ill advised.

vicaragechristmas · 14/01/2023 18:40

Hello porkers, I’ve been feeling a bit unwell today and off food so I’m doing brilliantly on my calories! On the down side, no exercise, though DD is chasing me about the kitchen currently pretending to be a goblin that’s going to gobble me, so that’s going to get my step count up a bit 😆

Inchstonesbeatmilestones · 14/01/2023 19:23

Evening piggies,

Well the fuck it monsters got me yesterday and I had more wine than I'd set out to have. Today I'm being extra good, running around like a loon and have counted every morsel that's passed my lips. On the downside, all this extra running around has kicked off my sciatica so now I'm walking a bit like I need a good poo! Still went out for an evening walk though but it was pretty slow.

Taken myself off for an early bath to avoid the other half whilst he's munching all the naughty stuff....... Why is he not fat, it's not fair 😂

whatausername · 14/01/2023 19:52

Advice sought fellow oinksters!

Friday is an exam day and shall be followed some alcolol. Not heavy heavy, probably a couple of sweet cocktails and a half pint (or two halfs, if I get halfs I can have a couple of different flavours you see). Naturally I'll eat before drinking and it won't be a late night so no midnight drunken munchings. However, it's full of sugars and sugars equal calories. Here is what I don't know, how do I think of it? Is it like 5 biscuits or 50 biscuits or 50 hundred biscuits?

Mañanarama · 14/01/2023 21:51

Just fell off the wagon in a big bad way by practically inhaling half a box of rum truffles. I swear I was only having 3 or 4 but probably nearer 10 or 12 fell in my gob.

Can’t do squats either as I have a sports injury (stubbed my toe en route to the fruit bowl) so I’m lying on the sofa allowing the rum truffles to melt into flab.

@Mañanarama don't worry it's my first day and I've fallen a very long way.
Not only had a Chinese but 4 vodkas as well.
Tomorrow is another day.

Ok I’ve done some checking and you’re looking at approx 200cal per cocktail and ditto per half pint - obviously ingredients may make a difference. So…not that many biscuits in the grand scheme of things! Enjoy 😁😁

whatausername · 15/01/2023 00:50

@vicaragechristmas oh thank you so much for checking. Okay, so I'll be extra strict about snacking for a few days and be tight on portion size to offset the sugary boozy fun and it shall all balance out. Got to have a bit of fun sometimes ;-)

Hope everyone's weekend is going well! I've taken to drinking water or tea whenever I feel snacky. By the time I've made tea something has usually come up anyway and I get distracted from the trigger of biscuit doom - boredom!

MKDmumofflash · 15/01/2023 09:38

Morning fellow piggies. Having a grump here - 3 days of being good-ish and THE BASTARD SCALES HAVEN'T MOVED.

Grump!

RubyRue79 · 15/01/2023 09:46

Well I did loose at least 1lb but suspect that will be back on after falling off the wagon in spectacular fashion involving wine and cheese! On the plus side after having an asthma check the nurse kindly informed me that I have “enormous lungs” so surely having larger than average lungs must account for some of the weight 🤷🏻‍♀️

HamFrancisco · 15/01/2023 09:50

Morning Porkers. I’ve not had a good week for exercise or food (although I did buy a new swimming costume). Scared to get on the scales.

TheDogsMother · 15/01/2023 11:11

Morning Piggies. It's been a bit challenging this week but managed to get a pound off. I have to navigate dinner out on Thursday but otherwise hoping not to fall off the wagon. Slow and extremely tedious is the motto !
