Lazy pig seeks other lazy pigs to lose 1lb a week.

Mañanarama · 07/01/2023 23:46

Ok, this starts on Monday, as I have a steak pie and mash and yorkies to eat tomorrow. Will also heroically finish the Christmas chocolate so it’s out of the house. Once that’s all achieved, I’m good to go.

I need and must lose at least one pound a week until April. That’s about a stone.

Shouldn’t be too hard, right? Wrong. I’m basically fucking lazy, I hate exercise, hate going out in bad weather and am a total gluttonous food guzzling pig. And probably peri menopausal. And I sit at a desk all day. And a million other pathetic excuses why I’ve not shifted this weight in 2022 like I said I would.

I can’t be the only one who’s got sod all willpower, so who’s up to being fully accountable to this thread?

Lazy pigs like me especially welcome. Weigh in Monday morning.

I’ve just had a scroll through the whole thread, can’t believe we’re on over 400 posts and have dozens of lazy pigs in the sty!

So glad I started this - I knew I needed likeminded people to motivate me with a sense of humour and tales of weakness, and you haven’t let me down!! Hooray! 🐷

Surely you mean "tails of weakness"?

MurderBot · 12/01/2023 19:51

I've had a high fat day today, but somehow still under on the calories...so far. 8pm - 10pm is peak snacking time, I usually try to stick to fruit but inevitably end up having some biscuits when the fruit doesn't hit the spot.

Tomorrow I'm giving blood, which the internet tells me will burn 650 calories...I can be lazy AND socially responsible...

StephanieSuperpowers · 12/01/2023 19:52

Well, I've done the important work of downloading several apps to record my weight. You can't do this without data. The effort required some biscuits.

I feel there may be a disconnect in my method, but I can't be sure. Probably all my apps will tell me eventually.

Mañanarama · 12/01/2023 19:56

”Tomorrow I'm giving blood, which the internet tells me will burn 650 calories...I can be lazy AND socially responsible...”

Erm… how often can someone give blood? Asking for a friend…

MurderBot · 12/01/2023 20:12

@Mañanarama 😁Sadly only every 16 weeks The trick will be not to eat those 650 calories at the biscuit station afterwards. Well, not all of them anyway, obviously I will be forced to eat some because it is medically indicated.

vicaragechristmas · 12/01/2023 20:56

Well, I’ve completely fucked up this evening by having cheesy garlic bread, veggie spring rolls and a slab of Christmas cake. What a combination of cuisines!

I’m now being shoved off the sofa by my cats so I guess it's bed time! See you tomorrow piggies 🐷

MKDmumofflash · 12/01/2023 22:08

Evening all! Piggie checking in. I slightly surprising day here - 3 packets of crisps and a protein bar before breakfast anyone??? but ended up slightly under my hugely vast calorie allowance. I even survived doing a shop without buying biscuits!!!!

rottweilersrock · 13/01/2023 08:00

I think I have found my people!
Have you got room for another lazy pig? 🐷
I have around 5 stone to lose, and it has to go this time for the sake of my health.
I have got 3 dogs, so do a reasonable amount of walking most days. But sometimes various health conditions stop me doing much at all. I also love food, and wine! I’d also rather sit and read a book or three than do any exercise!

vicaragechristmas · 13/01/2023 08:19

Morning, piggies! How are we all?

I finally managed to get on the scales this morning 😱 I made sure to have a big wee before I weighed myself 😆😆 14st 3 so that’s actually 1lb less than I thought I weighed - does that count as losing my 1lb this week?!

Smugberry smoothie for breakfast and I’ve brought more stir fry veg for lunch, with a leftover spring roll and one single chipolata, because I need protein, of course…

What do you all do about snacks? I eat healthily at mealtimes but I'm perennially unable to find tasty, satisfying, smug and health snacks. Hints would be very welcome!

Plenty of room, it’s a flippin big pig pen!! You’ll have sussed out we’re playing the long game so easy does it!

I’ve weighed in at 10st 8.6 this morning (from 10.11.4 on Monday) so technically I’ve lost nearly 3lbs BUT.. this is not surprising as prior to Monday I was literally filling my face with food at every opportunity, so cutting out the snacks and reducing sugar has given me a good start. I anticipate it’ll get much harder in the next couple of week as my body gets used to it!

Well done @Mañanarama !

I'm 4lbs off today although I reckon lots of that is dehydration as I forgot to drink much yesterday.

Breakfast today was boiled egg and soldiers. Probably sushi for lunch since I'm going to do the Big Shop and they have a sushi counter.

Dinner will be a supermarket Chinese although I'll try and go easy on the sides and pick a main that isn't deep fried. I'll be hunting for some more <100cal chocolate options, a daily Milky Way is getting a bit boring now!

StephanieSuperpowers · 13/01/2023 09:57

Well, if anything, we're all going too hard at this - I seem to have lost in the region of 3lbs as well, which is excessive and wrong. We need to slow down here. We're weeks ahead of ourselves.

Mañanarama · 13/01/2023 10:01

Have you tried Skinny Whip bars @heartbeatacrossthegrass, they’re 77 calories each and pretty tasty, I love the mint ones!

I know! I’m really surprised! It is proving to me that biscuits truly are/were my downfall as well as pigging on cheese and biscuits late at night. Let’s see what next week brings… I feel like one big meal or boozy night will unravel it all

Morning piggies!

Well done to everyone with weight loss this week. I haven't weighed yet, but I suspect my bad days will have cancelled out the good ones. I've got a fair bit of walking to do today which will help with the weight loss but I'm also hoping it will be a mood booster too, I've had a bit of a grumpy week this week (bloody peri!)

Meal planned for next week whilst pretending to work this morning & feeling pretty positive about it, so I think I'll just have to relax this weekend, eat & drink any leftover Christmas temptations & then get seriously back in the sty on Monday!

NatWestPigFamily · 13/01/2023 10:10

Was feeling very virtuous after having a salad for dinner but I put on half a pound. Currently eating a Mac Donald’s breakfast to console myself!

Theheartmustpausetobreathe · 13/01/2023 10:18

I challenge anyone to go slower than me - I've started thinking about digging the scales out .
But I am loving this thread because it's witty and honest and loosing one Lb a week sounds achievable .
Go us .Slowly of course .

MKDmumofflash · 13/01/2023 10:23

Morning all! I am currently weeping into my bowl of weighed out yogurt - yeah gods, it wouldn't fill a gnat!

MKDmumofflash · 13/01/2023 10:26

I've decided I'll be too weak with hunger if I don't eat a sainsbury's maple pancake with maple butter. Wouldn't want to risk it....

God no, don’t make yourself weak. Rule no1 is not being miserable, remember!

I’ve had two hard boiled eggs and two slices of day ham for brunch. Got to eat a cheese and onion pasty for lunch though. Pork stir fry for tea.

It really is cannibalism.

A 1lb down today for me piggies, that's 5.4lbs in last week and a half and I don't think I've been particularly strict, so surprised.

I'll be a slender (ish) piggy at some point this year..... I hope! (Well, maybe a slightly cuddly pig 🐖).

Now all I need to do is control the Friday night feeling...... I will not scoff everything in sight after a glass of wine ( might need to muzzle myself but I will have self control 😁)

That’s alright @StephanieSuperpowers, I will be dragging up the rear with @heartbeatacrossthegrass 😆

Just caved and had three oreos and a pack of hula hoops, but I have been battling with the bastard office printer all morning so I think I’m entitled. I definitely lost a bunch of calories with all the swearing and I’ve really been working my frown muscles, and stomping to and from the kitchen to get tea.

EyesOnThePies · 13/01/2023 11:59

It's not unusual to lose lot quickly to begin with: most will be water retention. Prepare for initial weightloss to stabilise into a steadier decline.

Meanwhile...I am losing nothing overall! Every time I go out for dinner it goes back on.

Proper bootcamping myself today.

Optimism is not enough.

In terms of action, "Nothing will Come of Nothing " in the words from a great tragedy.

Currently I am a great tragedy.

Off to a Body Pump class!

I don't tend to snack during the day much but I am an evening muncher, so have been trying the following:

Hula hoops puft 71 cals and give you that crunch. Same for dairylea dunker jumbo tube, also under 100 cals. Baxters do a French onion soup ( more like a drink) but only 95 cals a can.

Others are frozen grapes, celery or apple with a little almond butter or a teaspoon of houmous ( not with the apple). I also received some green and blacks mini bars for Christmas which are only 82 cals per mini bar. A chocolatey hit but once it's gone, that's it, can't just say oooh, another square won't hurt.

Lastly, I'm a massive cheese fan. This is the area where I turn psycho pig so have been scoffing laughing cow extra light triangles at 19 cals each.
