Anyone else with 2.5 stone (15kg) to lose?

Hello,
I was wondering if there were a few people who have a similar amount of weight to lose as me who would like to join a little support group.
I find the massive threads a bit overwhelming, and can't relate as much to those needing to lose half a stone or 5 stone. So ideally I'd love a couple of people starting in Jan who are aiming to lose a similar amount.
I'm not planning on doing a specific diet, just eating a lot less rubbish really. My aim is to be done by July 🤞

I've decided I'm going to break mine down to three chunks of 5kg and reward myself at each milestone.
So first 5kg and going to get a lovely cut and colour from an upmarket salon
Second 5kg not sure yet!
Final 5kg Botox!

Hi, please can I join - also a shortarse and with 2.5stones to lose. This month I’m just going to concentrate on eating less crap and moving more, and then will start with a target from Feb. Just don’t want to set unrealistic goals as have an op in mid-Jan so baby steps!

good luck everyone!

Endofmytetherfinally · 02/01/2023 09:02

I'm about 10kg over my ideal weight but pregnant (halfway) and can't diet yet so I'd like to join but ideally just to improve my eating habits. I snack way too much and irs generally pretty unhealthy.

@tulips27 ah that's so kind of you. I'm happy to go with what the majority want. The only thing I would say which corresponds with what the lady said below about the slimming world group...
For 2.5 stone (ish) we are all in it for the long haul (sadly!) So before we add over 50 people to a spreadsheet shall we just chat on here for the next month and then look at charting something from Feb as I suspect it will be a much smaller number who remain then?

That's cool, tbh it would have taken a lot of my time.

ItsMeHiImTheProblem · 02/01/2023 09:20

I've weighed myself, 13 stone 4 lbs, so definitely put weight on over Christmas!

GetItGone · 02/01/2023 09:20

Good morning! I've weighed in at 71.3kg. I would love to be 60kg again like you, OP.

Let's do this!
I'm having breakfast at 10am, not sure what to eat though. This is what i need to get better at- planning!

popandchoc · 02/01/2023 09:33

Hi, Hope it's ok for me to join too. Got just under 3 stone to lose which i gained in the last year.
I was also planning on rewarding myself - after each half stone i think. Need to think of some rewards.

wfrances · 02/01/2023 10:03

73.45 kg this morning
So I think I'm looking for a 10 kg loss to look and feel my best
Due to eating and drinking freely over the last 2 weeks my poor stomach looks and feels like a solid ball
Back to my fodmap diet today !

Yel · 02/01/2023 10:04

Good morning! I've checked the scales and I'm weighing in at 11st11lbs so 2.5 stone loss is a must! I've decided no new clothes until I am back to around 10 stone. Have lots of nice trips planned this year and don't want to feel rubbish on them by not feeling like my normal self.

Resuming 16:8 today with food logging in MFP. Also considering going back to F45 workouts.

Happy new year to everyone!

Shodan · 02/01/2023 10:13

I'm going to do my first 'official' weigh in tomorrow morning.

I know that in the first week I'll drop about 3 lbs, because I won't be eating bread/wheat products 😳(which apparently I'm intolerant to) so a bit of a cheat really, but hey ho.

I always struggle with breakfast and lunch because I've eaten toast/sandwiches since I was a teenager and my brain has got lazy. So I've bought a bunch of high protein diet bars to ease me in. Those and lots of chicken based meals should help (with the obligatory vats of vegetables).

iamloading · 02/01/2023 10:14

I've been thinking of the best way of breaking it down mentally for myself so it doesn't feel like such a long slog.
So I'm hoping the first 5 kg will be quite easy. So I'm not going to do anything more than pretty much cut out the booze and choc and make healthier choices. But not calorie count.
Then for the next 5kg start aiming for 1200 cals plus add in exercise.
Not sure about the final 5kg but will cross that bridge when I get to it!

I'd love to join you all as well please. In my head I'm still svelte but the mirror and photos prove very much otherwise and I really need to sort myself out as am very low energy and just feeling shit about myself. I'm 5'2 so another short arse and weight 12 st 12 so am officially obese and need to get below 10 st to no longer be overweight.
I love the idea of treats along the way. I'm going to book a lovely haircut as well when I get below 12 st. Hopefully wont be too long as one is desperately needed as well!!
I've just downloaded mfp again and aim to do yoga daily with Adrienne on YouTube. Also to go to bed early as until the xmas break was mostly only getting 5 or 6 hours sleep when felt too sluggish all day to do much inc any exercise and also meant was grabbing unhealthy snacks for an energy boost.
Here's to new us'es !!!

Runnerduck34 · 02/01/2023 10:44

Morning can I join? I have a similar amount of weight to lose.
I lost 5.5kg in the couple of months before Xmas by being " sensible" ie stopping mindless picking and snacking , healthy choices etc and having an 8 hour window of eating, however I have put at least 2kg of it back in over Xmas , bit scared to weigh myself this morning. I'm 5ft2 so need to lose at least 2 stone probably more

ginislife · 02/01/2023 10:48

I'm joining but maybe not got 2.5 to lose. I'd be happy with 7.5-10kgs. I dropped 4.5 stone in 4 months 4 years ago but it was illness related and I ended up looking like a lollipop as I was far too thin. I've slowly crept back up by eating what the hell I wanted but didn't stop at my ideal weight so now too heavy again - but nowhere near what I was. I've started swimming in the last 2 weeks and I need to stop eating crap. Luckily my illness restricted my appetite and I barely drink any more and most chocolate tastes like shit so they're bonuses !! I need to get a battery in the scales now !!

Whydidimarryhim · 02/01/2023 10:49

Hi I’m 2.5 stone over weight so will join.
I did 8000 steps yesterday on a nice walk.
Will get out today too.
Diet wise - still got Xmas junk in and it’s hard to throw away but my sons back so he will eat it!!!
Will post my days eating tonight which will give me accountability.
Thankyou for starting the thread. 👍

Sleepychicken · 02/01/2023 10:50

Morning, can I join too? Similar amount of weight to lose, hoping to move more and eat better in the new year rather than diet - turning 40 this year, going on a girls break with a hot tub which is giving me the horrors - I just want to feel nice

NeedSleepNow · 02/01/2023 10:57

I just weighted myself and I am 7 lbs heavier thank expected 😯 I'm now 13 st 6 lbs which is the most I have been in 20 years. My goal is to loose the excess weight by August when I have a big birthday coming up, by then my divorce will have come through and I am determined not to be 40, divorced and overweight so I best start eating healthily!

Runnerduck34 · 02/01/2023 11:21

Just got on scales 77kg So not gai wd quite as much over Xmas as I feared.
I want to be just under 10 stone -existing weight is in kgs as its a bit meaningless to me so less emotionally charged - so I can be factual and logical not emotional!!

RahnaThePiranha · 02/01/2023 11:46

Jumped on the scales this morning and I'm shocked. Whilst I'm still the same weight pre baby, I've gone up 2 dress sizes (not sure how that works). So I'm 75kg and I know i could never get to 60kg but my aim is 65kg - the weight I was when I met DH all those years ago!

Had a banana smoothie this morning instead of my usual Nutella and toast!

Healthy options on hello fresh have been ordered to stop me wanting to order take away alllll the time

roselune · 02/01/2023 11:51

I've also got on the scales this morning. 73.9kg. The healthy weight BMI bracket for my height starts at 64kg so I definitely need to lose this extra 10kg at least!

Porridge for breakfast today. I've been reading about the recommended 30 different plant foods a week goal so I'm going to attempt that, it should make my meals healthier in the process. Have ordered lots of healthy food to arrive later this week.

Timwith2noses · 02/01/2023 11:52

Morning all, first run of c25k done and as it took me close to Starbucks I extended my walk, got a skinny latte and then walked back home. This may be the motivation I need to keep at it for now.

Logging my food today on MFP and about to dust off the soup maker for something warm and nourishing for lunch.

Have the age old dilemma of what to do with the leftover goodies from Christmas - boxes of half open celebrations etc, plus after eights and there’s still a whole Camembert in the fridge. I’m relying on the rest of the family to polish these things off I think 😬

TheLostArt · 02/01/2023 11:58

Hello all, first time ever poster here but I need to be accountable hence not lurking on this thread!
12 st 5 and 5ft 4, 50, post menopausal so I need to lose at least 2 stone but 2.5 would be wonderful. Last time I managed to be within healthy BMI I intermittent fasted but I have long commuting days now (when the trains run) and I don't think fasting will work with that. On commuting days I usually do around 20k steps, 8-1k when not. Four meals a week are Gousto and I always choose 700cals a portion and under.
So my plan is to be strict when at home and work: cut out all sugary snacks and desserts, be much stricter on alcohol and switch to gin and slimline and only at weekends, force myself to run twice a week. I don't go out that often so will be more relaxed when I do. Most importantly log everything on Nutracheck and weigh myself weekly. I am within a pound of being officially obese so if that doesn't push me into fixing this nothing will!

Nomoretobotsplease · 02/01/2023 12:14

Can I join as well? I did well during lockdown and got down to my goal weight then had a really bad fracture little exercise for over 6 months and just didn't get back into it. Back on scales at 14stone 4 on 27th. Using weight watchers but aiming for 3 stone gone by the end of the year - doable?

allabitmuch45 · 02/01/2023 12:19

Oh dear, I really need a fresh start. In Nov 2021, I weighed 14st 1lb so I started losing weight. Got down into the low 12 stone range by Autumn 2022. Then I stopped weighing myself and today I'm back up at 13st 11.5lbs. I'm 5'8".

The one good thing is that I'm exercising regularly and it's so much part of my routine now and so good for my mental health that I think I can continue that without too much difficulty.

I really need to sort my diet out though and try to make it more of a lifestyle change as I lost all that weight but clearly it hasn't stayed off. I'm going to try and think about nourishment rather than deprivation. Not sure how easy it will be to make that shift in mindset though.

Hoping to bring DH along with me but I really need to do this for myself whether he joins me or not.

Good luck everyone.

tulips27 · 02/01/2023 12:30

I don't know about anyone else but unfortunately losing weight takes its toll on my face since I passed 40 😩

If I am successful with this I will be booking in for some filler or fat transfer to face over the summer.
