Anyone else with 2.5 stone (15kg) to lose?

Hello,
I was wondering if there were a few people who have a similar amount of weight to lose as me who would like to join a little support group.
I find the massive threads a bit overwhelming, and can't relate as much to those needing to lose half a stone or 5 stone. So ideally I'd love a couple of people starting in Jan who are aiming to lose a similar amount.
I'm not planning on doing a specific diet, just eating a lot less rubbish really. My aim is to be done by July 🤞

What about a google doc/sheet with everyone's weights to chart it somehow?

I can look into creating one. Everyone would have to keep in mind that if you open a link to a Google Doc/Sheet when you're signed in, your real email would be revealed to people in the doc and also if you edit. Maybe one person could just edit.

NewspaperTaxis · 01/01/2023 12:28

This would be brilliant @tulips27 - not crazy about my email being open to trolls sending messages of a 'You're still a fat bastard' variety mind, though I suppose that might be an incentive of sorts.

aureus3012 · 01/01/2023 12:32

I'd like to lose about 2 stone and would love to join.

Hotsweatymomspagetti · 01/01/2023 12:33

Oh yes @tulips27 this is a great idea and holding us accountable!

just weighed in and 91kg which is 14 stone 4.6lb ….that’s awful!!! Ideally I would like to be below 80kg if possible

Leakingtoilet · 01/01/2023 12:34

I have 15kg to lose, ideally 20 but 15 is my first target and I'd be happy with that. I'm currently 90kg and need to get to 75kg.

ilovetea14 · 01/01/2023 12:36

I was 11st 11Ibs middle of January 2022 I'm now 9st 3Ibs my weight loss was very slow some months I lost nothing. I'm 5ft 4' would like to lose another 6Ibs to get me to 3st loss but don't think that will happen. I'm happy to just maintain.

If I'm honest all I wanted was to lose 1st which I didn't think I could. Had tried and failed so many times.

I exercise 4/5 times a week. I took pictures and measurements as it doesn't always show on the scales. So glad I did as have lost 7inches off my stomach, 5inches off my hips, 6inches off my thighs 7inches off my arms.

Over Christmas I wasn't great food wise so back on it today. I found having pictures to look at motivated me to keep going. Your going to have bad days where you may eat to many nice things, don't feel bad just start again the next day. Good luck everyone you can do this 💪

NeedSleepNow · 01/01/2023 12:36

I've got the same amount to lose. I lost it all during lockdown by doing keto but after a marriage breakdown I started eating terribly and have put all the weight back on. Tomorrow is my first day off being sensible again, no chocolate, no booze etc and lower carb. I don't think I will find keto sustainable anymore so will just try to avoid too much bread, pasta, rice etc.

heidihigh · 01/01/2023 12:39

I've got about 2 stone to lose realistically. I want to do it in a way that's sustainable so not overly bothered how long it takes as long as I'm heading in the right direction. I know if I deprive myself I 100% will not stick to it so I'm cutting down on the crisps/choc/cheese Blush currently just shy of 13 stone...

allabitmuch45 · 01/01/2023 14:52

I'd love to join you please. I think I have somewhere between 2.5-3 stone to lose. I need to weigh myself tomorrow and face up to the reality of it. I'll update when I've weighed in.

afinethingindeed · 01/01/2023 14:59

I'd like to join... I lost some weight at the start of last year but then gained a stone back 😞

So I am two stone overweight now. We start TTC this month so eating healthily and losing some weight can only be a good thing. I think/hope I'll probably be able to shift half a stone fairly easily. My tactic is always straight up calorie counting.

Good luck everybody! And happy new year 😊

Rinders · 01/01/2023 15:01

Yes, me! Please can I be in your gang?

I have at least 10kg to lose, but would love to lose 15kg. I have lost 5kg or so over the last few months but so need some more motivation, especially since being diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes 😞

GetItGone · 01/01/2023 15:28

Hi! I'm hoping I can join you all!
I've got ideally 12kg to lose. I also weigh myself in kilos a lot.

I'm short at 5ft 2in, so the extra weight really shows, especially on my hips and bum as I'm a pear shape.

I'm just going to cut out the junk food and see what happens, as I've been eating chocolate almost every day.
I'm also quitting Pepsi Max as I feel i associate it with a twirl at the same time! :)

I will weigh in tomorrow (in stones) :)

NoNamesLeft234678 · 01/01/2023 15:56

Probably more but than that but it's not realistic to aim for more than that 🤔 I have eaten way too much since late pregnancy/having my baby but he is 16 months old now so I can't really use it as an excuse anymore 🙈 He is still breastfeeding (and I plan to keep going until he doesn't want to anymore) so I won't be doing anything drastic but I hope that I can get down to a size I am happier with by eating less junk food, healthier snacks and some YouTube exercise videos if I can find the time

Ayeaken · 01/01/2023 15:57

I want to lose 3st to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight. I have a 2.5 year old and a 9 month old so getting the time to exercise is difficult and by the time they're in bed I'm too tired.

I lost 1.5st over the summer with Exante (meal replacement shakes and bars). It only took 6 weeks but it was VERY strict and not sustainable. I've since put 10lbs back on.

I've decided to:

Drink 2 litres of water a day,
Cut out the crap (sweets, biscuits, crisps, etc.),
Eat more protein/less carbs, and
Move more

I'm hoping to reach my goal by the end of June but if I get there by this time next year I'll be happy!

bert3400 · 01/01/2023 16:07

Can I join too . Weight been up and down for many years. Exercise is the answer for me and healthy cooking. Away on holiday untill the 5th Jan but definitely no booze and no take aways for January to kick start 2023

Riverlee · 01/01/2023 16:11

I’m in!

Joined Joe Wicks today as he has an offer so it costs around £60 for the year (can’t remember the exact amount). I think the workouts will do me good, and help my posture.

Mammyloveswine · 01/01/2023 16:25

3 stone for me initially! My mam has suddenly died so atm I'm just not really eating as cant face it but I have a shred thing at the gym starting Tuesday, I think the gym will be a good distraction for me.

MadeInChorley · 01/01/2023 16:39

I would like to join. I lost around 2.5 stone in 2021 and have put about 1.5 stone of it back on by reaching my target and then ignoring everything I did to lose the weight in the first place! Daft! 2.5 stone is a realistic and noticeable amount to shed. Good luck everyone! I felt so much better. I’ll try hard again.

I was strict on calories and counted everything. I was pretty focussed and the weight came off steadily and pleasingly at around 1.5lb a week. As someone said “if you’re not assessing, you’re guessing” so I weighed myself once a week and noted it down. Took me 4.5months. I’ll try the same again, but will stick to the maintenance plan!

For me, absolutely no alcohol (because I’m quite an all or nothing person) and doing low-ish carbs worked. Alcohol really affects my blood sugar and willpower, so ditched it. I walked everywhere and used DH’s weights for 15 mins a night in front of the TV.

ChocolateTea · 01/01/2023 17:25

Managed parkrun this morning. And have snacked but more consciously. Going to cut back on alcohol too, especially baileys. Last day off tomorrow, so planning on going to the gym for a little bit, and plan meals for the week

CalmConfident · 01/01/2023 17:30

Delighted to join you…hit 73kg this morning, need to get at least 10kg gone. I was 60kg during lockdown due to intermittent fasting, eating better and consistent exercise. Peri-menopause has hit me hard and I look like a weeble (I am quite short!). Regular park runner and keen to get my times back down as my fitness goal ✅

shrunkenhead · 01/01/2023 18:08

Count me in. Can't weigh myself until tomorrow morning as I don't own any scales so will weigh at work. I reckon it's between 2.5 and 3 st that I need to lose though.

This is very similar to me! I also got down to about 58kg doing 5:2 back in 2018 and have since gained it all back (and more). Also 5ft3 so the weight really shows. I used to find fasting so easy back then but not anymore. Thinking of trying it again though as it worked so well.

Ducky88 · 01/01/2023 18:13

I’m in! I’ve got 2-2.5 to loose. Put on 3/4 of a stone recently due to flare up of a recurrent injury, it’s still not 100% so will be a bit of a slow start.

Hoping to cut out quite so much junk and exercise more.

I will weigh each Friday (I never like weighing a Monday as if I have a bit of overindulgence over the weekend I haven’t got time to be back on track)

ednatheevilwitch · 01/01/2023 18:17

Meeeee

swimmingincustard · 01/01/2023 18:18

Can I join you too please? I'm 15 & half stone and would love to get down to 13 stone (even though an ideal BMI would be lower). Losing 2 & half stone should get me to a dress size 12.
