Anyone else with 2.5 stone (15kg) to lose?

Hello,
I was wondering if there were a few people who have a similar amount of weight to lose as me who would like to join a little support group.
I find the massive threads a bit overwhelming, and can't relate as much to those needing to lose half a stone or 5 stone. So ideally I'd love a couple of people starting in Jan who are aiming to lose a similar amount.
I'm not planning on doing a specific diet, just eating a lot less rubbish really. My aim is to be done by July 🤞

@LaMaG Have you listened to the Brain over Binge podcast? It talks to a lot of your issues. There is also a dedicated Reddit forum for followers struggling with binge eating.

Just 0.5lb off for me. I’m away for the long weekend and it will involve food and drink so not expecting much change next week. I’ve packed my trainers though!

LavenderfortheBees · 08/05/2023 07:40

Stayed the same this week which is irritating as I'd like to be 10st next weekend so was hoping for 1lb off. I've not done much different this week but know that loss often isn't linear. It doesn't matter as long as my measurements are fine which they are.

It's so stupid to be disappointed by the scale anyway as I weighed a few times this week and have fluctuated by up to 3lb one day to the next!

Peppy1234 · 19/05/2023 22:50

Hi all - I’d got disheartened and not been back on here but then past couple of weeks I’ve got back in the zone and doing well again. Someone on this thread or another one recommended following esgfitness Emma storey- Gordon on instagram for motivation and it did the trick. Recommended to all! Thanks to whoever suggested it 🙏🏻

Hi everyone, I was also despondent with the dieting as the scales weren't moving. UNTIL I got unwell, lost all appetite, and could just about stomach smoothies. Only then did I drop below 95kg ie 1kg loss. Now I'm feeling better but I assume my weight won't change!

Thanks for this. Only downloaded this morning so I'll see how I go. I've been working on myself, trying not to think about weight and food. I'm doing reflexology, scheduling time for mindfulness and I also spent a bit of money on nice clothes in my larger size and got nails done etc. I am trying to track emotions more than food to find my triggers. Sometimes I don't understand myself - I ate an entire pack of mini Mars bars the other day and have no idea why. Why did I even buy them? So now I'm doing a few mins mindfulness before I go into the supermarket.
Hope everyone is doing OK.

Timwith2noses · 22/05/2023 19:52

Just checking in as I have 5 mins. I’ve been away to France, and also run my first 10K race in the last few weeks. I’m a couple of lbs down overall, and still following my 1600kcal/day with days off as needed (for life 🤣)

LavenderfortheBees · 23/05/2023 15:30

Just checking in as well. Have had a lot on over the past few weeks so mostly maintenance with being stict in the week and not tracking weekends. Now got a bit of space from tomorrow to have another push for another 7lb or so.

Rainsdropskeepfalling · 23/05/2023 20:52

I'm still here and maybe I've started to get the swing of things. I'm aiming for 1200 calories a day which I'm not finding too hard, with the idea that that's probably a bit low but that gives me wriggle room at the weeks or days when the plans got to pot.

iamloading · 24/05/2023 08:16

Wow @Doingitriggtthistime congratulations! First one to reach goal I think. I'm still languishing at 8kg down so 1 st 4 lbs, which is better than nothing but really need to get my bum in gear to get rid of the rest.

Hello again! Within 2.75 pounds (taking that quarter!) of hitting the 10s which means 9.75 pounds to go for a healthy BMI and 17 pounds gone since 2 Jan.

A really busy April/May including a holiday means I am really pleased to have maintained/lost a pound and I am now ready to slog away at that 9.75 pounds. Back to logging calories, being mindful re wine (after the bank hol!), at least 10k steps a day but more as much as possible (I want to run twice a week even though I loathe it) and continuing to be sugar free which has been absolutely crucial for stopping snacking.

Onwards and downwards!

LavenderfortheBees · 29/05/2023 09:05

Hi all just checking in with an update.

I had a very busy three weeks with lots of work travel and events on weekends that meant lots of eating and drinking. I was also on my period at the start which was very annoying as I kept varying each day between 10st 2lb and 10st 5lb. Not losing below 10st 2lb for 2 weeks despite a deficit.

So I decided to not weigh for a while and just eat what I wanted at the events while staying on plan for other days. After three weeks, I have weighted for the first time and am now 9st 12lb which I am very pleased with.

Overall goal is to be between 9 and 9 1/2 stone so I am very close to final goal but am at BMI 24 regardless so that is great.

Just over 3st lost since New Year!

iamloading · 13/06/2023 20:19

My goodness @LavenderfortheBees that's amazing! Well done you. I'm on my last push now before holidays. Not weighing myself as wasn't doing any good but I'm hoping for 11kg loss by end of July which is just under 2 stone.

Thanks @iamloading

Latest weigh in on Monday was 9st 10lb which I'm very happy with. Going to try and v slowly get down to 9st over the next few months but not too fussed if I stay where I am. I have always found maintenance difficult and this is the main nut to crack.

Doingitriggtthistime · 13/06/2023 20:45

Hello everyone I'm still here and going. I'm currently sitting at 69kg so my total loss since Jan has been 13.5kg I've maintained since my holiday. But I've been really focusing on my composition so building muscle my target is now to get down to 64kg overall and then maintain the hardest part. We'll done to @LavenderfortheBees that's fantastic . @iamloading Your doing fab ill be so worth it when you get your holiday

Crikeyalmighty · 13/06/2023 21:28

I'm at 2stone 1 loss- but have eaten like a saint!!! Great news though is I've reversed my pre diabetes- down from 44 in February to 38 last week

iamloading · 13/06/2023 21:30

Congratulations @Crikeyalmighty you must be thrilled with that!

Hi all I was in at the start and fell off. So good to read all your success stories and has motivated me (to start again!)
SW 12 st 9 Size 14
GW 11st size 12
I have a real target now as my son has just told us he is getting married at end of year which is fabulous news. 😍

OakTreex · 14/06/2023 07:47

I'm at 9 stone 11lbs down from 12 stone 2lbs in January.

So that's 2 stone and 5lbs lost.

I look like a different person!

I wanted to get to 9 stone 7lbs but the last few pounds are extremely stubborn.

I'm 5"6 so I've gone from being overweight to bang in the middle of normal weight on BMI. My Fitbit shows me my heart rate has reduced a lot and my heart health and cardio fitness has improved loads.

Daffyaboutdaffs · 14/06/2023 08:51

@OakTreex that is amazing and I should have been there if I kept with it. How did you manage to keep so motivated ?

OakTreex · 14/06/2023 09:17

@Daffyaboutdaffs thank you!!

I really relied on my Fitbit and the app to help - I entered food each day and if I wanted to eat more, being able to see how many calories I'd burned through steps and exercise really helped as I'd just decide to walk further or do a home workout to give me more calories!

I also used the Fitbit to track weight loss and seeing the numbers change, the weight, resting heart rate, etc., was really motivating so that helped!

I've tried loads before though and I know that I personally will only really lose weight when I'm 100% in the right zone in my head and I just got lucky that January was that time for me!

OakTreex · 14/06/2023 09:17

@Daffyaboutdaffs how's your journey going x

Daffyaboutdaffs · 14/06/2023 09:44

@OakTreex I started in January and have yo-yoed and back to my start weight but I’m hoping the motivation of my son getting married will give me the incentive this time. I would like to look and feel good at a special time for him. I have a Fitbit and your story has given me real hope. Can I ask how old you are?

Crikeyalmighty · 14/06/2023 10:42

@iamloading yes I am. More so than the weight loss if I'm honest. I've got other health issues- so really depends don't want to go diabetic on top!! Massively cut the carbs, and as I'm gluten free ate hell of a lot of tinned fish and eggs (not together)

Daffyaboutdaffs · 21/06/2023 07:24

I have lost 3.5lbs this week which I am pleased with. I am really trying to stick to it this time. Currently now 12st 6. I am hoping to be under 12 by end of July which I think is doable?
