Anyone else with 2.5 stone (15kg) to lose?

Hello,
I was wondering if there were a few people who have a similar amount of weight to lose as me who would like to join a little support group.
I find the massive threads a bit overwhelming, and can't relate as much to those needing to lose half a stone or 5 stone. So ideally I'd love a couple of people starting in Jan who are aiming to lose a similar amount.
I'm not planning on doing a specific diet, just eating a lot less rubbish really. My aim is to be done by July 🤞

Yes I'm in!

Totally relate to the holiday with skinny friends dread, mirror and photograph issues too.

I have 2.5 at least to come off.

Planning to:
weigh in every week.
massively increase exercise.
eat Mediterranean diet,
with intermittent fasting.

Good luck everyone! 🙌

I’d like to join, but I tend to have historic issues with scales and diets and getting obsessed, so I want to do things a little differently and make better lifestyle choices/count calories using MFP and go by how my clothes are fitting me. I’m usually a comfy size 16 but seem to have sneaked into my 18 jeans over the festive period and ideally I’d like to be a fitter size 14. I’m restarting C25k tomorrow, I’ve done it before
many times but it’s the one lifestyle change that I’d really like to stick this time. I’m dry Jan-ing to because I could do with a detox and losing the alcohol cals seems a good start.

BuddhaAtSea · 01/01/2023 18:29

I need to lose 2.5 stones too. From my belly and thighs. That’s 15kg. I currently weigh 85kg. I’m 1.70 cm.
It’s not the lack of exercise with me, I walk the dog 2-3times a day, I have a physical job, I clock on average 15,000 steps a day. I do body pump twice a week, I run 15k a week, I walk to work 4 days a week, I swim 1km every week.
It’s being on my own and eating shite, frankly! I have enormous amounts of sugar. And bread. Not interested in alcohol. And I’m menopausal, on HRT.
So what I need to do is revise what I eat. I’m veggie.

I eat constantly. All the bloody time.
The plan is to go on 1200 calories a day and come off the sugar somehow.

I'd like to join too! Sick of being in the cycle of fluctuating on the 2st I always need to lose - time to break it and then some!

Dry January is the perfect start. Been for a run today, felt great, definitely didn't look it 😹

Albanyriver · 01/01/2023 18:38

I’d love to join too! Definitely 2-3 stone to lose! Done it before, but the baby weight has stuck and I need to shift it before the big 4-0!
Loved MFP before, need to get some time put aside to meal plan and track!

Confitofduckand · 01/01/2023 18:38

I have that to lose. It sort of came off a bit after pregnancy but has gone up again. I can’t believe how much I have put on over Christmas!

I am weighing every day on FitnessPal - it is living in denial that has got me here, so I need to face reality a bit more if I am to get back to normal!

ItsMeHiImTheProblem · 01/01/2023 18:48

I'll join too please. Exactly 2.5 stone to lose, which will put me at 10.5 stone. I have fibromyalgia so exercising is becoming more difficult, but will try and have a short walk each day and looking into yoga classes. I thought about 16:8 fasting but don't know enough about it. Really I need to cut out the chocolate and cut down on wine.

I started the Fast 800 at the start of October and lost 2 stone by early December. I really recommend it. I signed up to the online programme which was £100 but it was honestly so worth it. It generates meal plans and shopping lists, so deals with a lot of the diet admin for you.

Going back to it on Monday after a festive carb splurge, as I still have another 1.5 stone to go.

It was the first diet I’ve done where I felt like I was looking after my body.

I've not heard of that, interesting.

ItsMeHiImTheProblem · 01/01/2023 18:50

I can't think in kg 😬😫

Pinkjacket22 · 01/01/2023 18:55

I got tested for food intolerances and got told wheat, dairy, potatoes, pineapple and peppers. I've cut them all out and it's been surprisingly ok as I feel great and have lost about a stone so far. Didn't even pine for roast potatoes on Christmas Day. Diets just don't work for me as I feel deprived but approaching it from the angle of wanting to feel better and less bloated and am not feeling deprived at all as I know I could have the stuff but am really enjoying feeling better. It's only been a month but hoping it will continue.

sugarhockeyicedtea · 01/01/2023 18:58

Can I join? I'm the biggest I've ever been and I feel so unwell with it. Just eating the food because it's there and not because I'm hungry.

I really struggle with diets (although Fast 800 sounds interesting) so going to focus more on making the right choices and moving more.

Shodan · 01/01/2023 19:15

I'd like to join too. 2 stone to lose (maybe a little bit more for 'wiggle room').

This is the heaviest I've been (13 stone) since I was pregnant 15 years ago. It's getting harder and harder to shift as I get older (54 now). Lost some last year then got a heel spur which stopped me doing the long walks I loved.

I'm starting on Tuesday (weird day I know but that's when ds2 goes back to school). I know I need to do lots of exercise- not just for the health benefits but to keep me out of the house and away from the bloody fridge.

I've signed up for a weekly bootcamp and also yoga. I already do karate once a week- if I'm not too exhausted I could do two sessions per week.

DeltaF · 01/01/2023 19:16

Can I join you all too please, was doing well this year with a PT but due to work commitments and finances had to give it up, have put on a stone in 8 weeks. I know what to do but am awful with motivation and willpower if I have no accountability. Turned down socialising over Xmas purely because of how rubbish I feel with the weight gain, would like to lose 2 stone plus for hols in July. Would welcome the support and to (hopefully!) support others 😊

limerentidiot · 01/01/2023 19:19

3 ish to go here (2 lost already).

justanothermanicmonday21 · 01/01/2023 19:25

Can I join please?

I am 13st 3 at the moment and would ideally like to get down to 10.5. I have my brothers wedding in August and I am a bridesmaid alongside all the brides cousins and sister who are naturally all super skinny so either way I'll be the chubby one but I need to fit in my dress which was snug before I put on another day one this year.

The last year I've put on a stone as I've had a bereavement and have eaten my feelings to the point I'm disgusted at myself quite frankly so my first point of call is to try and initially cut down my snacking (still want to allow myself a couple of treats) and then to get moving a bit more. I did the Joe wicks workouts before so ideally like to try and do that 5 times a week aswel as generally going out on my bike or walks a bit more.

WheelofLife · 01/01/2023 19:32

Can I join too please. I have 2 - 2.5 stone to lose. Just want to get back into my size 12s. I’m doing dry January which should help as I drink AND snack of an evening!

Preraph · 01/01/2023 19:36

@blebbleb ...my sister's friend runs a SW group, I remember her saying that the best time to join was early February as the 'New Year Resolutionists' had usually dropped of the radar by then.

Smoky1107 · 01/01/2023 19:37

I need to lose about this so would love to join in x

SaintLoy · 01/01/2023 19:38

I did this in about 10 months. Lost 2 and half stone I mean. The old method: eat less and exercise more. Cut out in-between-meals snacks, no more choc bars, crisps, Greggs bacon rolls (and/or Belgian buns), KFC is banned. small lunches (salad, soup), and much more walking (1 mile a day at least) instead of public transport or car. The funny thing is, now I've lost the weight I wanted, I am happy to carry on this way. I feel so much better.

stellarspiral · 01/01/2023 19:38

Yes please. Ideally 3 stone for me but 2.5 would put me back in healthy range and where I feel comfortable. It's got really out of hand for me this year for first time. I've always gone up and down a stone or two but the last 2 years it's just crept up and up and up...

Mrsuntidy · 01/01/2023 19:40

I do and start tomorrow..hoping to lose between 2 and 3 stone (so 2.5 stone seems perfect 😂)

Helenahandkart · 01/01/2023 19:50

ItsMeHiImTheProblem · 01/01/2023 18:48

I've not heard of that, interesting.

It’s the Michael Mosely diet (him off the telly). It has been hard, and requires will power, but the food is all really tasty and the recipes are easy to follow.
You can swap meals around if it tries to make you eat things you don’t like.
I really think it’s the best £100 I’ve ever spent.
The ingredients aren’t particularly cheap, but you can switch meals around and make it more vegetarian so that you don’t have too much expensive meat.
There are little workouts to do every day which are short and fairly easy.

wfrances · 01/01/2023 20:09

I also need to lose 2 stone
47 , 5ft 4 and starting to look barrel shaped .
My bum ,waistline and stomach ( worst offender ) need shrinking .
I love clothes , but struggling to dress my shape atm .
I like the idea of photos as I'd like to look better more than reaching a certain weight .
My first goal is to get back in the habit of drinking water and cut down on junk food .
I eat far too much cake , biscuits and chocolate

I was 11st 11Ibs middle of January 2022 I'm now 9st 3Ibs my weight loss was very slow some months I lost nothing. I'm 5ft 4' would like to lose another 6Ibs to get me to 3st loss but don't think that will happen. I'm happy to just maintain.

If I'm honest all I wanted was to lose 1st which I didn't think I could. Had tried and failed so many times.

I exercise 4/5 times a week. I took pictures and measurements as it doesn't always show on the scales. So glad I did as have lost 7inches off my stomach, 5inches off my hips, 6inches off my thighs 7inches off my arms.

Over Christmas I wasn't great food wise so back on it today. I found having pictures to look at motivated me to keep going. Your going to have bad days where you may eat to many nice things, don't feel bad just start again the next day. Good luck everyone you can do this 💪

That is amazing well done!
