Anyone else with 2.5 stone (15kg) to lose?

Hello,
I was wondering if there were a few people who have a similar amount of weight to lose as me who would like to join a little support group.
I find the massive threads a bit overwhelming, and can't relate as much to those needing to lose half a stone or 5 stone. So ideally I'd love a couple of people starting in Jan who are aiming to lose a similar amount.
I'm not planning on doing a specific diet, just eating a lot less rubbish really. My aim is to be done by July 🤞

I'm down to 14 st 11 from 16st 5 in late October- feels like it's taking forever but I'm on beta blockers which doesn't help as slows metabolism down .

Peppy1234 · 25/03/2023 20:52

👋 hi, can I join please.

SW 14 st 3 (started 5 weeks ago, mid Feb)
CW 13st 10
GW 11 st

I’ve lost half a stone but it feels so slow as I’ve still got nearly 3 stone to go. I’m determined this time - I’ve often got this far then gone off the rails and each time I‘ve ended up fatter than before!😫
Not this time 💪🏼

Peppy1234 · 25/03/2023 21:03

Ps I’m doing 16:8 and calorie counting. Feeling motivated after losing half a stone but another 2 stone 10 to go which feels a lot. I’d love to do it by July but realistically it will probably take until September

Sneakyblinders · 26/03/2023 09:02

This is such an encouraging thread - feels like everyone is doing so well!

@Peppy1234 do you 16:8 every day? I am thinking of trying it as well!

Peppy1234 · 26/03/2023 12:24

@Sneakyblinders Occasionally if I’m really hungry in the morning I might have breakfast, but most days I do 16:8, sticking with the calorie counting between 12 and 8pm.

Peppy1234 · 26/03/2023 12:37

@Sneakyblinders it is a nice positive thread, I agree. I’ve also cut out wine which has been a big change 😅. Only had wine on Mother’s Day in the past 5 weeks. Well done on your 2lb the first week and well done everyone on your successes so far!!

Peppy1234 · 26/03/2023 13:03

Was looking back on the thread to motivate myself. @iamloading well done on the 1 stone loss 🥇 (and thanks for the thread obvs). I can totally relate to what you said about the August holiday as motivation and wanting to stick with it. When I’ve had a goal event like that it helps me to keep in mind the “collapsing the future” - I.e. how I’ll feel at that event if I stick to my plan, and how I’ll feel at the event if I think sod it and eat all the pizza and drink all the wine. I’m ashamed to say in the past I had a reunion as my “motivation event” but when I went off the rails I didn’t end up going 🥺. Not doing that again, I’m sticking with it this time 😬🤞💪🏼

Timwith2noses · 26/03/2023 17:46

I celebrated being covid free with a meal out last night. I ate ALL the Thai food. And pudding. And I’m very unapologetic for it, it was delicious.

Hoping that I have offset at least some of my intake by my run back to the restaurant to collect my car this morning - it was 8km - furthest I’ve done yet. I also have a yoga class tonight to end the week, and then hopefully I’ll be nice and energised when I wake up tomorrow - I’m fed up of feeling poorly after the last couple of weeks. In fact I might book a body pump class tomorrow to motivate me 😂

hope everyone is having a good weekend!

PomRuns · 26/03/2023 19:43

@Timwith2noses yoi are going so well with the running.

weighed in a day early due to social plans.
1lb loss.
I need to be stricter.
Total loss in 4 weeks 7.5 lbs

LavenderfortheBees · 27/03/2023 07:50

I have a 3lb loss today which is good as it gives me a little more leeway for a smaller loss another week to still meet goal. I usually try and lose 2lb a week so will ease up slightly as have been quite low cal some days last week by accident more than design.

Current weight 11st so 11lb to go until a healthy BMI and still aiming for 9-10st as ultimate goal.

popandchoc · 27/03/2023 10:53

I have been bad last few weeks and gained some of the weight i lost which i am annoyed about to back on the wagon today!

Well done to those of you still losing and keeping at it.

Sneakyblinders · 27/03/2023 10:54

I have lost 3.5lbs this week - which I am not sure is reflective of actual progress, I was unwell yesterday so didn't eat that much of anything!

I would like to lose another 0.5lbs this week so as to maintain -2lbs a week progress but I wouldn't be surprised if I maintained or even put some on!

SW: 11 stone 13
CW: 11 stone 7.5lbs
GW: 9 stone 3

Peppy1234 · 27/03/2023 11:52

Amazing you 2 who lost 3lbs this week!
Although I’ve got 3 stone til my goal which feels like loads, it’s 16 pounds til I’m within healthy BMI so that’s my first goal, which doesn’t sound so bad! Good luck all 💪🏼

LavenderfortheBees · 27/03/2023 18:00

Tried on some dresses for an event on the Easter weekend. First fits perfectly and second does up but is slightly too tight. Unfortunately family democracy has decreed that second dress is better dress.

So now have new mini goal of just under 2 weeks for second dress to fit more comfortably. May have to think again on easing up lol.

orangetriangle · 27/03/2023 19:35

put on a pound this week so 12.13 started at 13 8 back in jan itsa veryslow process!!
Goal weight 11 stone by next summer for daughters wedding
would like to get down to 12 stone by this summer
trying to have small but hopefully achievable goals find it so hard to lose weight with diabetes and pcos

orangetriangle · 27/03/2023 19:36

on the plus side 2 size 18 coats absolutely drowned me which is a first as I am big in the bust particularly the skinny legs so square shaped!!

orangetriangle · 27/03/2023 19:38

did walk up a hill to high st and back at weekend and round the park once now the weathers hopefully going to get warmer hoping to get out and do a bit more walking but dh has long covid so cant do loads of walking

Peppy1234 · 27/03/2023 22:36

@orangetriangle @LavenderfortheBees
Inspiring stuff! Fitting into clothes previously too small is a brilliant feeling (which I haven’t had since 2020 lockdown.) I’m looking forward to getting to that stage again

Shodan · 28/03/2023 08:06

No change again today. Unsurprising- I've completely lost my dieting mojo due to external stressy shit.

I think I might relax over the easter hols and then will hopefully be in a better frame of mind come the start of summer term. I only need to lose another half stone or so- am very close to the healthy BMI now- so as long as I don't go mad, and maintain current weight I thin it'll be ok.

Well done all of you who are persevering, and to those who have had losses. I'll be one of you again in a couple of weeks 😁

Savemesome · 28/03/2023 20:45

I lost 3lb this week so into a healthy bmi now! Got a girls weekend away coming up so feels good to have a good loss today ahead of food and booze galore! I have been doing random length fasts, read the book ‘fast like a girl’ which I found interesting. Had heard the author on a podcast and thought it was worth a try to experiment with fasting

Doingitriggtthistime · 29/03/2023 17:42

SW 82.4
CW 71.9
10.5kg lost since Jan

Rainsdropskeepfalling · 29/03/2023 18:08

@Doingitriggtthistime that's amazing!

I've been losing and gaining the same few kilos over the last few months. I can't decide if I need to go see my GP as I'm sure I'm entering menopause, I think I have a few food intolerances that are getting more pronounced and I'm in that wonderful > 50 year band where weight loss is hard. A year ago I did no exercise. Now I run 3 X 5km a week, get > 10,000 steps on multiple days a week and the weight doesn't shift even though I'm eating a lot less than I used to....moan moan moan .

I need to take a leaf out of your book. What's your approach to losing weight @Doingitriggtthistime @iamloading

Doingitriggtthistime · 29/03/2023 18:50

@Rainsdropskeepfalling so I calorie count and I do keep to the lower end of the scale it's hard someday iv had weeks where I haven't seen any change but some weeks it's a big loss iv kind of yoyoed back and forth with a few pounds and iv stopped weighing weekly just every other week as I was becoming to obsessed with numbers. I think I last weighed on the 15th. And I now only use boots scales. I need to exercise that's my down fall i walk most days but that's it. I keep downloading apps that I then never use but food wise iv turned my whole diet around and I eat alot of protein now. I'm so determined to feel good when we go away in May. I have to admit it's hard and requires alot of effort and it hasn't been plain sailing but I don't think anyone has it easy as you said you have alot of obstacles in your way but dont give up your doing amazing

iamloading · 29/03/2023 19:39

@Rainsdropskeepfalling I'm not in the same league as @Doingitriggtthistime sadly. I'm 7.5kg down since Jan, but 13kg since the Jan before so I'm definitely on the right track.
I think for me it's only diet that works. I've upped my walking and activity to feel better health wise but I don't actually think it makes much difference to my weight. So if I want to lose I have to eat under 1200 cals. I gain at about 2000 and stay steady at about 1600. Not an exact science but working roughly to that seems to work.
Since Jan I've done a mixture of losing, gaining and staying steady. But when I've gained (through being a pig!) I've got back on it.
So it's slow but gradually coming off.
7kg to go

Rainsdropskeepfalling · 29/03/2023 20:47

@Doingitriggtthistime and @iamloading thank you. I decided last night that calorie counting was what I needed to do. So I've started. And then realised that we have family visiting Friday to Monday and then I'm travelling with work overseas for a week... I've only myself to blame for everything as noone else is making me eat what I eat, but I'm so good at the excuses... 😁
