Anyone else with 2.5 stone (15kg) to lose?

Hello,
I was wondering if there were a few people who have a similar amount of weight to lose as me who would like to join a little support group.
I find the massive threads a bit overwhelming, and can't relate as much to those needing to lose half a stone or 5 stone. So ideally I'd love a couple of people starting in Jan who are aiming to lose a similar amount.
I'm not planning on doing a specific diet, just eating a lot less rubbish really. My aim is to be done by July 🤞

I agree, it’s calorie counting all the way. I kind of hate the programme “secret eaters” but I watch it to remind me it really is all about the calories , there’s no mystery

Timwith2noses · 31/03/2023 05:49

2.5 off this week. I’ve looked at my chart on my fitness pal and I lost around a stone in January (dry January and maybe the general shock of diet after Christmas overeating!) Since then it’s settled at around half a stone each month. So I’m now 1lb off 2 stone lost since starting. I’m happy with this steady loss, I’m still having treats and meals out (in moderation) and don’t feel too restricted really. I guess the last couple of months numbers means I’m averaging at 1-2lbs loss a week.

I don’t have a definite goal as such, I thought around 2.5stone to lose sounded about right when I first saw this thread, but at the moment I’m happy eating as I am and keeping up the fitness and seeing where my weight settles. For now, at least!

Wow @Timwith2noses that's incredible! Well done you 🎉🎉

Well done everyone on losses, maintaining and just keeping on going!!

Here's mine:
SW (Jan 20th): 12 stone 1lb
CW: 10 stone 6lbs
GW: 9 stone 7lbs

I've got less than a stone to reach my goal now! I've lost so far 1 stone and 9lbs which I'm really pleased about, I've just been very strict on sticking to 1200-1400 cals a day and trying to be more active, plus adding all of my food and steps etc on Fitbit.

Weight loss is slower now but that's okay.

I've gone from overweight BMI to normal too.

Lozzybear · 31/03/2023 07:55

Impressed by some of these losses. I stick to 1200 calories per day but I am not losing very quickly. 13 pounds lost since 13 January.

SW: 12st 7
CW: 11st 8
GW: 10 st 7

Did a sneaky mid week weigh and am actually half a pound heavier than Monday. Have just realised I'm premenstrual though so to be expected. Expecting to STS on Monday but hopefully get a whoosh within the week after as the water weight / bloat comes off. I've been in a decent deficit each day so I'm not worried.

Peppy1234 · 01/04/2023 13:19

Had a 3lb whoosh 🎉 so I’ve lost 10 pounds in 6 weeks. V happy with that after feeling I had plateaued last week. It varies week to week with no loss or 3lb loss or something in between, but as long as it’s generally going in right direction. Hormones and bloating definitely impact

CambsAlways · 01/04/2023 21:05

It doesn’t help that everything I love is fattening I’m not good at small portions 🤣

iamloading · 03/04/2023 07:05

Weigh in day and the slow but steady progress continues. I've now lost 1 stone 3 lbs since Jan so I'm getting there slowly!
What's better is it's over 2 stone lost in total now.
Just over a stone to go by July which seems achievable 🎉🎉

Weigh in day and pre menstrual blip seems to have passed so another 2lb down. Feels great to be back in the 10s.

CW 10st 12lb
GW 9-10st

Total lost somewhere between 1st 9lb and 2st 2lb since NY.

A NSV this week was trying out a Pump class for the first time. Always been a bit intimidated by them and the weights but it was actually fine! Quite sore in my shoulders still though two days later.

LavenderfortheBees · 03/04/2023 08:49

How is everyone feeling about the Easter weekend? I have to travel and have several events requiring drink, cake and food. Also Easter chocolate to eat.

Think I'm going to write off the whole long weekend in advance as a lost cause for minding my eating and not worry about it. It will do me good to remember that the everyday is what matters rather than special occasions.

Doingitriggtthistime · 03/04/2023 12:31

Had the worse day since starting iv just has a massive binge eating session (writing this as accountabilities) Its so hard i now feel sluggish and sick so wasn't even worth it. Must not let this overtake me but I suppose I have done it now I can't undo it must try and make the rest of the week a good one. We'll done @iamloading that's a great success and great targets. We'll done everyone else your all doing great

iamloading · 03/04/2023 12:47

Wow @LavenderfortheBees that's incredible!
Ps we weigh exactly the same at the moment!

I’m going away tomorrow until the end of the Easter holidays and I’m not packing the scales so no weigh in for me for a couple of weeks.

I’ve packed in some exercise before I leave though and will stay generally active while I’m away - though I’ll miss the body pump classes! So even though I’m going to be flexible with eating and drinking I’m hoping not to do too much damage!

LavenderfortheBees · 17/04/2023 08:12

Hi everyone.

Took the Easter weekend off and due to events and a lot of wine and chocolate, didn't dare get on the scales last Monday. Did pretty well during the working days then I was ill this last weekend so barely moved and didn't eat much.

All that has translated to 5lb off in two weeks which is better than what I was expecting. Now 10 and a half stone which means I'm 4lb from a healthy BMI!

Tagging the most recent commented in case anyone wants to share an update on the first Monday post Easter.

Well done you. I lost the plot in spectacular fashion over Easter and put on 5lbs in one sodding week 🤦‍♀️ Back on the wagon from today as was doing so well!

LavenderfortheBees · 17/04/2023 10:03

I think it's extra difficult over school holidays if you have children. Hopefully some of that will be bloating from extra sugar and salt rather than real gain so should drop off quickly.

Shodan · 17/04/2023 13:18

I've been living in Happy Denial Land for several weeks I'm afraid. Now I know how I deal with stress- vast consumption of biscuits, chocolate, bread...

SO I've gained 4lbs. Could be worse I suppose, but it's annoying that I have to lose those 4lbs again, in addition to the rest.

But hey ho- onwards and...downwards 😂Back at the salad bar now, so fingers crossed.

Doingitriggtthistime · 17/04/2023 13:33

That's amazing well done everyone even over Easter break there is always going to be ups and downs I'm forever fighting the urge to binge eat i find around 2 3pm the hardest but over all managed to stay within my weekly calories as made it up over the other days. Last Wednesday I was sitting at 71.1kg so happy I'll weigh again on Wednesday and let you know 2 weeks until my holiday can't wait and all my holiday clothes iv brought are now a very comfy size 10 I feel so good. Hoping to be 70kg by the time I go away and that would be a total lost of 13.2kg lost if I reach that.

Lozzybear · 17/04/2023 14:07

I’ve been away for the past week so I have no idea what I way now. Back home this evening and back on the diet tomorrow!

Peppy1234 · 17/04/2023 19:25

Thanks @LavenderfortheBees for the re-set tag! Well done on the 5lbs loss! 🍾

  • I’m one of those who put on a few pounds over Easter 🐣 🙄. Back on track tomorrow! 💪🏼. (It was meant to b today but got delayed a day due to leftovers 😬) good luck all
orangetriangle · 17/04/2023 19:32

managed to put on 5 pounds over the two easter weeks so back.on it now sigh

Rainsdropskeepfalling · 18/04/2023 07:49

Can't lie - the wheels fell off my wagon. And then I ate them.

When I'm on the wagon I'm calorie counting and I can confirm that 1200 calories 3-4 days a week isn't sufficient to lead to weight loss so I'm going to have to do more. And eat less. I'm travelling with work next week, and this week is all about the stress getting ready. I'll restart when I get back I guess. I'm still running 15km a week though so some good habits have formed.

iamloading · 19/04/2023 08:45

I'm still 6kg down overall but seem to have been faffing around since mid feb.
So I'm a teacher and it's 6 weeks till half term. Going to try to be really good until then as a goal, and also not weigh myself until then either as I become so disheartened so easily. I'm hoping to knock off another 5kg in that time. Then it's only 3kg to go until my goal.
Here it goes!!

2lbs on in the last fortnight. I’m fine with that, I kept active but ate and drank lots. Big push on the exercise now, I’ve joined a gym as I need to increase my cross training and really get going on half marathon training. I won’t drink alcohol again until Saturday - we are out for a meal so I will eat nice food too, but the rest of the week will be sensible and within my daily calorie goal. Next weigh in is Friday.
