I'm going to start on healthy eating plan tomorrow. I hope.

Jahan · 03/02/2008 22:26

Looks like a few of us have been comfort eating today!
I had an Indian take away tonight. But I did go for an hrs walk this afternoon.

Squilly - You could have burned around 113 cals an hr according to this www.weightlossresources.co.uk/exercise/tips/housework_workouts.htm

Wendyjayb - It'll def be worth it. I bet you feel really good. Well done!

I have my gym induction on Sat. I'm really looking forward to going to the gym. I'm getting dh to download some good tunes onto my ipod (I haven't a clue about all that stuff!) and am just going t o enjoy having some time to myself and getting back in shape.

Jahan · 03/02/2008 22:29

Fedda - You've got to say 'I will' and be more positive.
Me too. Good luck!

discoverlife · 03/02/2008 23:02

Evening ladies, just got my PC fixed, isn't it wonderful having geeks in the family. The power supply had broke, but luckily we managed to find one in the attic. But I am dreading my e-mails, I have 103 of them to trawl through.

katylessbumpy · 04/02/2008 08:17

OP posts:
Wendyjayb · 04/02/2008 09:08

Just had 1st weigh in and lost 6lb

discoverlife · 04/02/2008 09:27

Blue sky, white fluffy cotton wool clouds, crisp morning air and the birds are singing.

AND no coughing. Its going to be a good week, I can feel it in my water. Especially now its staying where it should be (the water, in my bladder that is).

fedda · 04/02/2008 10:08

I'm trying to follow your advice, Jahan. I will have healthy eating plan. Does it sound good? I'm having a healthy eating plan from today. Breakfast - carrot.
Lunch will be home made butternut squach soup with carrots and coriander, dinner - sardines with salad. snacks - apples and grapes. Tea with unsweetened jam.

amazonianwoman · 04/02/2008 10:25

Lovely day here too, no rain which is almost unheard of in Manchester.

Have decided to give up choc & cake for Lent and put all the money I've saved into my bike ride sponsorship funds

discoverlife · 04/02/2008 10:34

Im going back to bed, Ive woke up with a massive start when the delivery man came, and I now have a thumping headache. So I am going to have to miss some of the lovely sunshine.

katylessbumpy · 04/02/2008 11:50

wendyjayb that is amazing well done.how are you feeling? motivated to carry on?

OP posts:
LoveMyGirls · 04/02/2008 12:23

I've been very very good today so far too,

b- rice crispies and semi skimmed milk
l- famers markets chicken soup (really good because its really chunky and fills you up) with 2 slices of toasted ww bread (no butter)
only 1 cuppa and i used 1 sweetner. I also walked to school and back which is almost an hour round trip whilst pushing a double buggy.

LoveMyGirls · 04/02/2008 12:23

Wendy - Well Done thats fab!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wendyjayb · 04/02/2008 12:31

Definatly feel motivated to carry on.
I doctored a picture of me last night and stuck it on the fridge, it's how i'm gonna look when it's all gone

currantbunmum · 04/02/2008 13:18

Wow, 6lb weight loss, that's more than I achieved for the whole of January!

Now then Katyless can I ask something, Oh weight loss guru?

I have 5lbs left to loose before I get to my target weight, I'm already back in my size 12 jeans, which is where I wanted to be, as I think size 10 is too thin for me at 5'8". I have decided to not be quite as strict with myself, as I have looked back at my menus for Jan. and noticed that I am quite low on calcium and protein, so intend to raise these. EG. instead of toast at lunch, a ham sandwich and a petit filous, and nuts for my snack, what do you think, do you think it will all go pear shaped?

I can't have anything with artificial sweetners in as there is an assossiated health risk, thats why I have the petit filous.

I'd be glad to hear what you think

katylessbumpy · 04/02/2008 13:27

ok i found this about increasing your calcium intake without resorting to loads of dairy.it's a teen sight but i found it's info quite good.

OP posts:
katylessbumpy · 04/02/2008 13:36

also this which has info on higher protein foods.
i think slowing your weightloss and incorporating different foods into your diet at this stage is a good idea.not only can you get added vitamins but you will be more able to adapt it for maintenance when you get to goal.just remember to keep up with excercise and water intake and you'll hit goal in no time.

Thanks for the links Katy.

discoverlife · 04/02/2008 14:06

Dh has just found a piece of news (bbc) that says wearing 2" heels improves your pelvic floor muscles. Shame I am so heavy that I can't wear heels at all.

I have just come back from the village. Was dropped of to get some t'bags and the post office (where DS2 was accused of theft just because he got withing 4 foot of an old ladies handbag) and walked back 2 miles, up hill all the way.

b- none
l- home made beef curry and plain rice.
d- pork chop, new potao's, boiled veg and gravey

amazonianwoman · 04/02/2008 14:23

Must hunt out my high heels - my pelvic floor muscles are cr*p now, and I just had 2 c-sections, not even vaginal births. Heavy babies are my excuse.

My feet are too big to fit into all my pre-baby shoes I can't cope with heels now either!

Legoleia · 04/02/2008 14:26

Can I join you please? Have about a stone to lose from child-bearing, am quite inspired by the zero point soup, can anyone post instructions? Happy visions of guzzling soup all day long.

Could do with enthusiastic people in the hope that it rubs off!

Jahan · 04/02/2008 14:32

Wow Wendyjb! Good loss!
Fedda - Planning is definitely key to weight loss. A good breakfast usually helps too. Why just a carrot for breakfast? I may be wrong but your plan for today sounds like its not enough food. Eat more!
Katy - thanks for the kick! I definitely need one every now and then!

Todays food;
porridge, coffee
prawns in pitta
chicken drumsticks, rice, veg
Snacks - hot x bun, fruit.

I did my taebo dvd today. Its good and only 25mins. I did really sweat!

Jahan · 04/02/2008 14:34

oops sorry Katy, you only threatened to kick.
Well, works for me, anyway!

susiecutiemincepies · 04/02/2008 14:35

hiy guys

polly not sure about the new body for slim fast. I seem to have only lost 1 lb and been so strict with it. Its really peeing me off.

I dont know what else to do. I really have been SO good. sticking to it all. I'm not going to give up, but I just am so frustrated by it. Maybe the morphine I have to take is slowing down my metabolism a lot so it isn't shifting so much? Oh, I dont know... not going ot give up though. I just dont want to go back onto slimming world or WW again. It made me so miserable. I know I can do it, without needing to change the whole family diet. Besides, i just woudn't be able to go often enoguh to a meeting as we are going to be going p to NC much more often now with DH.

Well done all of you, doind SO SO well! Keep it up.

discoverlife · 04/02/2008 14:39

Zero point soup. The lazy buggers way. Get a bag of frozen mixed veg, 1 onion, 1 veg stock cube, cornflour to thicken salt and pepper. Bung veg and stock in a pan with enough water to be 3 inches above the veg, bring to the boil simmer until the veg is cooked. Thicken to soup consistancy if needed with the cornflour and season. If its a bit bland add some more veg stock/cube. At this point you can decide whether to blitz it with a blender or not.

Low point Tomato Soup--- small onion finely chopped, 1 tin tomatoes, half veg stock cube, basil (half teaspoon dry or 2 whole fresh leaves), water and half teaspoon sugar, seasoning. Bung it all in a pan with a equal amount of water, bring to the boil simmer for about 5 mins and blitz.
If you want cream of tomato soup, leave out the basil and do everything the same, but when serving add a swirl of cream.
