belcantavinissima · 09/02/2008 10:27

I stayed the ARSING same on the scales I tell you , i'm this close to giving up! jeeeeeeezuz this is terrible.

Annnny way... POLLY 5 years????? Get thee self down M&S quick smart ladee! I seem to buy their 4 for a tenner every time I'm in there, and where the heck are they all now? I havn't a clue, i certainly dont have a drawer full of them...

Today, i have mostly been eating, slimfast and tea.
Dinner tonight will be spag bol, without the spagetti using quinoa instead. ( pronounced keen wha ) its rather nice actually. can be used as a porridge substitute as well as rice/ pasta substitute. GOes with everything.

belcantavinissima · 09/02/2008 13:07

i can never seem to cook that quinoa proerly- always ends up hard and crunchy which i am pretty sure its not meant to

susiecutiemincepies · 09/02/2008 13:40

hmmm, ihope it will be ok cooking it. I have only ever had it cooked for me. I also love bulgar wheat. That is similar actually, and really easy to make. just boil it until tender... but make sure you strain it in a decent sieve, not a colander not tha I would ever do such a thing... no... of course not...

Girls, I have done a blog! not sure why, but I felt inspired by the thoughts from polly and her old undies...

anyway, hve a little looksies laydees

discoverlife · 09/02/2008 13:55

Hi ladies, feeling a bit crap today. I swore at DS really badly and called him an idiot. Well wouldnt you when you were lifting the sofa to tidy the rug edge under it (sofa has no legs or feet just a straight hard wooden edge) and your idiotic DS jumps on it, crushing your fingers between floor and sofa. I am only just able to type now and its 5 hours later, I was hpoing to get some more gardening done.

susiecutiemincepies · 09/02/2008 14:00

oh, don't worry about it discover life. I think any one would under those circumstances . If you are feeling bad about what you said to him, just sit down now with him and explain, now the initial anger has died down. say you didn't mean to be rude but it really was a daft thing to do... etc... you'll both feel better for it.

katylessbumpy · 09/02/2008 16:56

susie, don't give up .maybe next week you'll lose weight instead of your knickers

discoverlife ouch.how are they now?

menu
b weetabix and banana
l no point soup and 1 piece of garlic bread
d chicken salad

snacks wafer thin ham and a pack of fruities

lot's of water

i still feel really bloated.no sign of af yet but she is definately on her way

Soooo many messages! it's lovely to see how many people are in the thread. Okay, my tea. yes, I'm guilty, I don't like fruit teas, herbal teas and teas without sugar. So, I thought very hard and came up with my recipy which is of course copyright . So, the secret is - use the jam which is made without sugar but with concentrated grape juice (i'm just a fool as concentrated juice has sugar anyway). It is called Rhapsodie de fruit made by St. Dalfour and you could choose any of their spreads. I like blackcurrant and apricot but they have very many different once. The tea tastes fantastic for me and you don't need milk in it. Occasionally i use some lemon juice from a fresh lemon as well. it's not really a slimming tea but i like it. today though I was out, didn't go to the coffee shop, Katy but went to cafe rouge [hm] and had tea with milk and 1/2 sugar and crossonant without butter or jam. Then at home my speciality tea I've just discribed with 1 apple, 1 clementine and 2 plunms (you see how desparate i am to avoid biscuits). D will be home made cottage pie with shop bought baked beans.

discoverlife · 09/02/2008 18:13

B- Fruit 'n' Fibre with extra dried fruit and a sprinkle of sweetener.
L Home made Tomato, pepper and chilli soup.
D Chilli con Carne with plain boiled rice. Followed by ice cream (maybe).

Concerning the fingers, I was really worried I had broken them all, but they just bruised and became VERY tender and they were actually dented for an hour. But OK now apart from some tenderness still. Its a good job it was DS2 he is only 10yo, DS1 weighs 20 stone, I would have been picking up half my fingers if he had done it.

belcantavinissima · 09/02/2008 19:00

discoverlife- ooouuuch! my word that must have hurt. poor you. good excuse to not be able to do cooking/cleaning/dishwashing for a while though eh? every cloud and all that

b- muesli with skimmed milk
l- 3 ryvita with ww cheese spread, carrots and hummous
d- half roasted spicy butternut squash
s-1 shapers double choc bar (only 1 and a half points and ssooooo scrummy!)
loads of water to drink

as you can see, being really really good but weight doesnt seem to be coming off tthis week again . whats going wrong???

katylessbumpy · 09/02/2008 19:11

bel are you eating all your points?you need to keep your furnace going

fedda CHEERS well done for resisting the coffee shop ,take it one day at a time.i'm really proud of you

discoverlife ouch ,ouch ouch

fedda · 09/02/2008 19:15

discoverlife, sorry for your pain. I hope you get better soon.
Katy, I was sooooo good today, so i do take this day as one day at a time. Tomorrow my friend invited me to Italian restaurant. I must be strong.

katylessbumpy · 09/02/2008 19:25

you will be strong fedda.one day at a time
think how good you'll feel after a week!

OP posts:
discoverlife · 09/02/2008 19:57

Fedda just keep away from the cream sauces and try to use bread to soak up the fat/oil in the tomato based sauces.

belcantavinissima · 09/02/2008 19:59

katy, no i'm not, but not eating much differently than before ww- just not eating all the rubbish inbetween meals. i am genuinely not feeling hungry, eating lots of veg and snacking on fruit and ryvita. on the days i have eaten nearly my points allowance i ave felt dreadful- really heavy and bloated. i see what you girls are eating and think no way could i eat all that. i worry if i eat something too much the pounds will suddenly leap back on again. also first 2 weeks at ww i lost 8lbs in total and i was eating less then than i am now. dont get it. at all. and still exercising (though not every day lol!) oh well still got 2 days before weigh in so hopefully may have shifted a pound or two by then. am not very good at being patient and always expect instant results so steadily is not a word that features heavily in my vocab!!!!

katylessbumpy · 09/02/2008 20:02

i feel like that when i eat all my points bel.but the weeks i do i lose more.just remember to eat regulary.if you cut your points now you'll have to keep cutting them top continue losing weight iykwim.

OP posts:
belcantavinissima · 09/02/2008 20:11

what if i eat regularly but with low or no point things? will that work? i was almost traumatised last night when i had to eat that flippin pizza and its points value was well into double figures!!!! fancy a glass or two of wine this evening but dont want to risk the pounds

katylessbumpy · 09/02/2008 20:39

drink the wine NOW !!

OP posts:
MrsFish · 09/02/2008 20:51

You need to eat what they tell you otherwise your metabolism will slow down too much and the weight will stop coming off unless you eat even less and eating even less will be impossible to keep up and so the weight goes back on easier even though you are not eating loads. iyswim. They give you the points to follow for a reason

I had a lovely hour and a halfs walk in the countryside today and it felt great, the weather was so nice and warm, spring is on the way, YAY!

I am feeling very bloated, I have had a bread day, as it has been the easiest thing to get a hold of, both boys have been out of sorts today and needed constant attention and dh has gone out for the night so have no inclination to cook anything and the snacking has been awful.

B - 3 nimble, c.cheese and jam
S - 1 wm toast and flora, 1 custard cream biscuit, 3 choc buttons, low cal choc mousse, 2 slices of ham, 1/4 of ds's leftover toast.
L - 2 slices bacon, 2 bread and ketchup
teacake with jam and c.cheese
T - bowl of cornflakes with hot water and tsp of sugar

sounds a lot but I am actually within my calorie allowance for the day and I have exercised too

katylessbumpy · 09/02/2008 21:06

mrsfish you said it much better than me
bread always makes me bloated, your day over all sounds ok though and you have been walking so i predict a loss for you this week

now ,has anybody seen my period?

squilly · 09/02/2008 21:19

Weighed on Friday morning...lost 3.5lbs. Have fallen off the wagon again somehow. Ate chocolate cake...too much spag bol and still had my snack (Skinny Cow ice lolly). Guess I need to just get back on the wagon again tomorrow.

Hope everyone else is doing well this weekend.

fedda · 09/02/2008 21:20

I forgot to say that my weight today was better, i lost 1 kg out of two i put on in Christmas thanks to home, made soups. Today I swaped baked beans for salad without dressing, just with some lemon juice (toms, cucumber and yellow pepper) with my cotage pie made with lean mince. I had my tea with jam twice though but i need some naughty stuff to eat, I'm afraid.
