Morning, can I join please? 5'4 and 14st11, struggle with exercise due to be a single parent (can't just leave the DC and go for a jog!)

Need to have somewhere to hols myself accountable, this is perfect!

NoMoreChoccy · 20/10/2022 09:38

Hi! Can I join please? 5’3 and 12st2. Had a baby a few months ago and in desperate need of some motivation (and someone to slap my hand away when I reach for the chocolate box!) I need to lose 3 stone to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight and actually fit in 99% of my wardrobe 🫣. I’ve lost 8lbs over the last 8 weeks. I dread to think what my weight was when pregnant, I avoided all scales like the plague 😂

CutiePatooties · 20/10/2022 09:40

I’m SO glad this thread can help so many ladies 😊

we’ve got this!!!

I’ve woken up, Fitbit on, meals all planned and logged brekkie on myfitnesspal. Need to remember water!!

I'm going to pop little one in her bouncer and give 30 day shred a go - I’ll let you all know if I’m still alive afterwards hahhahaha!

just remember, you’re not alone! We are all similar stats which really comforts me, and we can all go on this journey together. Other half left out carrot cake - it’s a good job it isn’t chocolate or I’d probably have failed already lol!

FatPatsCat · 20/10/2022 10:57

Thanks for the water reminder OP!

I'm going to log all my meals and snacks. I'm a stationery obsessive so I can get a new diary 😁

CutiePatooties · 20/10/2022 11:08

@FatPatsCat i love stationery!! There are some pretty diet planners on Etsy… I bought one but never used it haha!

just completed day one of 30 DS. Not too bad, until baby pooped whilst in her sit-me-up and I had to have a pit-stop (or poop-stop) half-way through…

that’s the thing- I don’t think mine is just baby weight clinging as she’s 5 months old so really could’ve lost it by now. It’s more the fact that it’s hard to stay motivated as they consume SO MUCH of our time!

so don’t beat yourself up - we’re all mums who have put our kiddies first and we’ve taken a backseat to their needs. Time to start making time for ourselves, I reckon!! 💐

Argh! Chocs at work got me!!

CutiePatooties · 20/10/2022 14:29

@teaandtoastwithmarmite don’t worry! Can’t you log it into your calories for the day?

OP posts:
Keroppi · 20/10/2022 14:38

Hi, joining :) Similar stats.

I'm doing what I call lazy low carb - so massively increasing my protein/fruit/veg, no processed food, only one meal I can have carbs with per day. Will be more relaxed on special occasions i.e. going out for meals over xmas period etc but stricter on the run up to those special occasions!!
Tonight will be doing my kettlebell workout.

NoMoreChoccy · 20/10/2022 17:18

@teaandtoastwithmarmite ahhh I crumbled too and had a slice of banana bread 🫣 we’ll have to restart tomorrow ☺️

CutiePatooties · 20/10/2022 17:29

Finding today super hard!!! Anyone else??

evenings are the worst for me…. 😞 so I’m dreading this evening! Have to stick to it and still need a litre of water!

OP posts:
LittleCrackers · 20/10/2022 18:04

I'm exactly the same, just finished my dinner and now wanting something sweet so badly!

IckyPop · 20/10/2022 18:04

Titsywoo · 19/10/2022 20:27

Me! I'm 5ft 3 and 13 stone 10 (was 14 stone about a week ago!).

Want to lose weight for health reasons - even 10% of my body weight will do.

Exactly the same here. My baby is 9 (years not months 😬🤦‍♀️).
I need to get healthy as BP is high and I'm already taking meds for it. I just love food and booze 😔

Keroppi · 20/10/2022 18:32

Joe Wicks kettlebell workout done and sausage casserole here for dinner. Had my carbs at lunchtime in a huge toastie 😍 so no bread etc. Steamed some broccoli on the side and have cheese to go in it too if I really feel like I need it.

However forgot to pick up tea bags today so only have redbush or herbal for curbing late night cravings later 😥

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 20/10/2022 19:13

Can I join you please?

5'4 and last week weighed 14st 3.

Underactive thyroid - started thyroxine 6 months ago expecting miraculous weight loss... which hasn't happened...oh dear!

Early 50s, work full time, single parent lacking in energy and motivation. Oh and I have a stinker of a cold so I've barely moved for 2 days 😬

Anyway, enough of the excuses!

I am going to aim for 15000 steps and 1500 cals per day.

I have an exercise bike and a treadmill so 15000 steps will be doable.

I would love to be size 12 again, hell I'd be happy if my wardrobe full of 14s fitted me.

Today is a write off so will start tomorrow 💪

ClearButtons · 20/10/2022 19:18

What is usually the barrier for losing weight for everyone? Could be useful to share in case anyone has any tips!!

I'll go first - mine is definitely portion size and also time, I usually go for quick freezer/ready meals when I'm short on time which aren't healthy 😫 so I am thinking of getting one of the portion plates to help me and also trying to use the slow cooker more, no excuse for eating rubbish if dinner is already done!

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 20/10/2022 19:25

Mine is wine 😐

And cake

And chocolate

I just can't seem to do them in moderation

Ha ha same!! I try and not buy them at all (esp chocolate) as I can't have a little and put back, I devour the lot. I seem to be missing the self control gene Blush

ReachedTheEndofCake · 20/10/2022 19:55

Yellow sticker doughnuts etc. I don’t want them to go to waste, so they go to waist!

CutiePatooties · 20/10/2022 21:12

I struggle with boredom eating and eating in the evenings! I can’t have chocolate in the house or I’ll eat all of it - no matter how much is here, it’ll be gone in seconds.

I find joy in eating so have to find joy elsewhere in order to stop my overeating. The workout earlier made me feel good, so in turn I’ve eaten less. Logged cals and coming in at 1400 cals and burned 500 today.

Well done if you’re sticking to it today!!

boredom kicking in and tempted to make the wrong decisions with food 😞

Stay strong!

Today I have had
1 piece toast with 2 hard boiled eggs

Jacket potato with beetroot and small amount of cheese

Went for a half hour brisk walk at lunchtime and I'm craving something sweet now so I will have a meringue nest lol

CutiePatooties · 21/10/2022 15:04

@MrJollyLivesNextDoor thank you, I’m trying!!

I am on a Janeplan diet and have so far stuck to the meals and snacks on that… Just dinner left! But a takeaway just seems too appealing right now 😞

have to snap myself out of it and NOT let food win!!!

You lot have inspired me

Exercise bike here I come!

Parrotpretty · 22/10/2022 08:19

Had a quick peek at the scales this morning and I'm 14'4 so just over 2lbs since Wednesday. I'm determined to get to 13 or under by Christmas. That's 9 weeks away if I can get 2lb off a week I will do it.
