Fuck I'm so lardy, I've hit peak fatness and need to sort it out.

It would appear that all I do is stuff my face with crap, lots of crap.

I'm going to try and sort myself out, starting tomorrow.

I'm scared, I'm useless at dieting but it's getting serious. I'm so unhappy, I caught sight of myself in the window walking past Costa coffee today. It was grim.

Anyone want to join me?

Weigh day tomorrow.

I'm using a free trial of the apple fitness app - I like it. I was going to the gym, but getting fatter and fatter, and more and more embarrassed at people seeing me work out, so I quit. I've signed up to a half marathon next year to make myself go running too. Right now, I'm too ashamed to run, so just don't go. I used to love running.

I'm also considering coming off my pill. I use it to control my periods, but recently it hasn't been doing that, so wondering if coming off will help my weight? Who. Bloody. Knows.

You definitely don't need something sweet. What we found on other board was apple with cheese or apple with peanut butter or even peanut butter with date (one) helped.

You can get lower calorie biscuits Rich Tea lights but remember - you often do mistake hunger for thirst so try to just have the tea.

The reminder of apple and peanut butter is good - thank you.

I love rich tea biscuits, but we can't have them in, because I'll eat them all. ALL.

BeanyBops · 03/10/2022 10:30

I'll join please! And I love what am earlier poster said about reframing Xmas to be about feing great and fabulous outfits! I've got a stunning vintage beaded blazer I want to wear without feeling like a potato wrapped in tin foil.

Last few months I've been listening a lot to Dr Mark hyman and the huberman lab podcasts and I've figured out that I am extremely carb sensitive. It's finally made sense as to why I have such hunger and no off switch for sugar. So I'm finally committing to low carb, no sugar, no grains, just lots of good quality meat vegetables.

I would love to be slim again but primarily I have an only child and I just want to be fit and strong and healthy for as long as I can be, and weight is strongly associated with that.

agutrew · 03/10/2022 10:38

11.5 stone here. Heaviest I have ever been. Feeling motivated- hope it lasts.

mrsdolittle · 03/10/2022 10:39

I can weight myself (on hols in Algarve at the mo). Something to look forward when I get back!!

TheVeryThing · 03/10/2022 10:46

im in too. Just had chocolate biscuits for breakfast ffs. Need to lose 2.5 stone, have gone up another size in trousers recently. I have done 5:2 previously but can’t manage those fast days anymore. Peri menopause not helping with any of it.
I’ll weigh in shortly, am off work today so no excuse not to go for a run (aka restart couch to 5k for the umpteenth time).

smidge80 · 03/10/2022 11:04

I nearly fell of the scales this morning! 12st 1lb Confused the heaviest i have ever been and for someone short there is just no hiding it.

Would love to lose 1 - 1.5 stone for Christmas but 3st in total by spring/early summer Daffodil

Let's do this Star

Mumblechum0 · 03/10/2022 11:19

I’m in. Need to lose at least a stone, ideally 1.5.
currently 10 st 11 and not ‘appy

HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks · 03/10/2022 11:24

@smidge80 I'm fairly short too, 5'4 and you are right, there is no hiding it. My sister is 5'8 and weight gain is far more forgiving on her. I am a barrel with lipstick.

I'm in! Even my old knickers are getting tight! Hate looking at myself in the mirror!
I'm 11st 13lb today aiming for 10st ish.
So far today I have had a yoghurt for breakfast and have walked 7000 steps.

Woods52 · 03/10/2022 11:35

I feel so heartened by seeing ppl on here admitting they weigh similar to me. I’ve kept mine a secret for so long I’m so ashamed.
I’m tall and broad and I’ve felt like such a freak being so heavy for a woman. I was ‘curvy’ already but I’ve basically piled it on since lockdown/WFH.
I’m too ashamed to share it with friends or a weight loss group.
the solidarity and openness in this post feels such a relief. Now it’s time to make the changes Thanks @HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks xx

Fist bump. I'm 5ft 10 and broad, even if I lose the weight
I've gone from 18st 4 to 17st 2 so far and am a size 16
I'm aiming for 14 stone and a size 14

mittenskitten · 03/10/2022 11:44

Ok I'm definitely still in too. I've braved the scales and I'm now 12st 2 at 5'5. I started a week ahead of you guys so have lost 3lb Smile just got to stick with it now, but hopefully as we're all in it together it'll be a little bit easier this time

Woods52 · 03/10/2022 12:00

thank you @PeloFondo - 14st/size 14 sounds like an ideal, achievable target for me.
BMI gubbins says I should be between 9-12stone but that feels totally unrealistic. My bones alone probably weigh that…
All the official guidelines do is make me feel like I’m going to have to starve myself to be “normal”, which means I’m bound to fail. So thank you for making sense. See you at 14st! 😊

HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks · 03/10/2022 12:04

@Ifihadapoundd we are the same weight. What height are you?

OP posts:
Ifihadapoundd · 03/10/2022 12:10

@HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks I'm 5.3 and a bit 😂 what about you? All my weight seems to sit on my stomach and thighs.

OhMalakas · 03/10/2022 12:17

squashyhat · 03/10/2022 09:20

I'm in. 5'3" and 11st 8lbs. My stomach is like a beach ball. I'm stopping the wine for a month as a start. Does anyone know of a good filling alternative to bread? I eat far too much of it.

Try corn thins, I make open sandwiches on them and they're nice. I prefer them to bread even when I'm not on a diet.

ReginaPerrin · 03/10/2022 12:17

5’8” and 13st 6lbs. Over 2 stone gained in last few years so I’m determined to change my habits. Going out now to stock up and veggies, fruit and rice cakes!

MarthaMayWhovier · 03/10/2022 12:27

I might try and find my iPod and see if it still works. For some reason there was a pedometer on it. How many steps daily is everyone aiming for?

TheVeryThing · 03/10/2022 12:29

Ok. 12 stone 4, and I’m only 5’ 4” , and have a narrow frame. Need to lose around 3 stone but definitely aiming for slow and steady.
I read recently that you should weigh yourself every day & take the average for the week to take account of fluctuations, so I think I’m going to do that.

Most meals & portion sizes are ok, need to cut out takeaways and mindless snacking on sugar.

thefurriesthen · 03/10/2022 12:31

@mittenskitten we're height and weight twins! 👋Well done on your weight loss so far 😊

@HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks I start Christmas eating in October. As soon as the tubs of quality street etc are in the shops I'm off!

Thought of this when I walked into Tesco this morning to a massive freestanding display island of all the giant selection tubs! Beware!

Yes, a huge display right inside the entrance. I'm sticking to online food shopping at the moment as I can not be trusted.

May I tag along? I'm toward the top end of overweight BMI, and my happy weight is around the midpoint of healthy BMI. That's about 3 stone to lose. (I think in kilos, conversion especially for youse lovely lot!) I started a few days ago, and still tapering off truly excessive amounts of sugar, but already a couple of kilos down.
