It would appear that all I do is stuff my face with crap, lots of crap.

I'm going to try and sort myself out, starting tomorrow.

I'm scared, I'm useless at dieting but it's getting serious. I'm so unhappy, I caught sight of myself in the window walking past Costa coffee today. It was grim.

Anyone want to join me?

Weigh day tomorrow.

Half a pound lost. Half a bloody pound. 😡 I was convinced I’d lost more than that.

Well done to those who’ve stayed on track, and to those who haven’t - it’s a new week 🙂.

Sodullincomparison · 24/10/2022 17:49

As @ReginaPerrin says it is a new week and that is why we are here to take it week by week.

this is our third weigh-in and we are all here committed to making a change which is great. I am relieved to hear that @HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks is only human- she has been the weight loss dynamo.

I started on 15’ 11 and today I am 15’6 so it is moving in the right direction however I was this on Thursday and scuppered myself with a meal out!

The juice diet was gross but it worked and gave my body a break from dealing with random food. I needed that rigour to say to my team “No food today”

I have a rubbish routine with food due to my crazy job and four year old! i reached 2pm today and realised I hadn’t eaten or drank since 8am so when my team put a meal on my desk, I ate it without considering it.

I spoke to DH yesterday about my weight gain and he said he didn’t think I’d put any weight on- erm around 50 pounds mister!!!

so I’m heading into Week 4 looking to have more of the good stuff as well as less of the bad stuff!

Stravaig · 24/10/2022 17:52

@Jenasaurus Your food sounds delicious. Sometimes I cook by colour, so your lunch looks wonderful!

PaulineFowlersCardigan · 24/10/2022 21:40

Everyone is doing so well! And @HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks I’m so glad you can eat properly now x
I’m still plodding along, still doing lots of walking, still not smoking, was having trouble with eating/snacking and emotional eating still, so I’ve taken the plunge and joined ww. I did follow it a few years ago and it worked, but like everything else I stopped when I felt better! It’s going well, so just need to keep the momentum up this time.

Stravaig · 25/10/2022 07:45

Good morning everyone!
Up and at your healthy breakfasts! Or final hours of fasting window.
🥳 1 stone down!

HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks · 25/10/2022 07:50

@Stravaig 1 stone down. That is amazing. So happy for you. You must be really pleased.

@HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks Thank you. I nearly fell off the scale this morning!

I vaguely remember this from last time, mostly stagnant for a week to ten days, followed by a week or two of rapid loss. Then back to the doldrums again, and so on.

eleanorwish · 25/10/2022 08:19

I was doing well last week, I was consistently dropping 0.2lbs a day. Then at the weekend, I tried not to go too mad, but stopped calorie counting, and then my weight was up by a pound.
I'm going to have to do better at weekends!
Starting weight : 16st 3lbs
Current weight: 15st 13.5lbs

TabithaTittlemouse · 25/10/2022 14:34

I’m going to dance class today for the first time in years.
I’m really hoping that I can keep up this level of enthusiasm.

illiterato · 25/10/2022 15:54

Hola! Well done on all the weigh ins - I skipped this week as on holiday but hoping to maintain at 71.3kg next Monday. Def feeling more confident in my bikini vs in the summer. Onwards flabateers!!

@Horsetreestick i totally get where you are coming from. There have definitely been times in my life where I have felt totally out of control around food ( and to a lesser extent alcohol) and a lot of that has been to do with my emotions and me basically trying to smother/ drown them with food and booze. Sounds like you have a pretty full schedule at the moment- 60 hours is a full on job -and how old are your DC? I am much better these days ( maybe coz I’m now quite old and with age comes wisdom, or so you’d think) but still prone to stress/ anxiety eating/ drinking. One thing I’ve found useful is to really acknowledge my feelings - say it out loud in the mirror if it helps. Once it’s out there I don’t feel the need to try to bury it. More practically, you mentioned you don’t want to deprive your dc of treats but honestly, maybe a short term ban - say a month- to help you reset wouldn’t be a bad thing. I have minimal treat stuff in the house and the kids did moan to start with but now they’re just used to it. They get treats out of the house where I find it easier to resist. It’s ok to put your needs above their wants.

Stravaig · 26/10/2022 11:33

Meal 1 is usually some form of omelette, scramble or frittata. Current favourite is cherry tomatoes with curly parsley and basil, 2 eggs, a scattering of grated cheddar.

Fuck I'm so lardy, I've hit peak fatness and need to sort it out.
Jenasaurus · 26/10/2022 14:45

Todays lunch - Peri Peri Chicken, spicy rice, minty mushy peas with beans and sprouts

Fuck I'm so lardy, I've hit peak fatness and need to sort it out.
TabithaTittlemouse · 26/10/2022 21:24

@Stravaig and @Jenasaurus they look delicious!

I had a goodish day food wise! (Although couldn’t stop for a proper dinner and I’ve just got in and I’m shattered!).

Breakfast: blueberries and grapes with alpro vanilla yoghurt.
snack: banana and satsuma
lunch: salad with prawns and feta
snack: alpro chocolate yoghurt
dinner: gluten free crackers with avocado and tomatoes (x7 so very greedy!)
snack: apple

plus one million cups of tea!

Sodullincomparison · 26/10/2022 22:10

These meals look fabulous!!

this week feels chaotic food wise given the lack of routine with half term. I appear to have put on four pounds overnight!

we have eaten some good meals in the evening but there has been a lot of bread and snacks in work this week.

time to get it back though over the next four days. I’ll be happy to maintain this week.

@stravaig that is amazing work!!!! Well done!!

PeloFondo · 27/10/2022 09:15

Kidney infection here so water, water and more water
Weighed at 17.08. Come ON scales Grin

HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks · 27/10/2022 11:57

@PeloFondo sorry to hear that, how are you feeling?

OP posts:
TabithaTittlemouse · 27/10/2022 23:30

Sorry that you are unwell @PeloFondo !

I’m also on the poorly diet! I have a cold and a throat made of razor blades.

Stravaig · 28/10/2022 08:04

@Sodullincomparison Thank you! Scales haven't moved since the dramatic drop, so solidarity @ReginaPerrin @eleanorwish . It's so much easier to stay motivated when the number is smaller each day.

@TabithaTittlemouse Thank you - I was inspired by @Jenasaurus delicious pics - and it was a rare almost-tidy omelette :)

@PeloFondo @TabithaTittlemouse I hope you both feel better soon. Is this a thing, less sugar, less caffeine, less alcohol, so our bodies rebel and get sick? (Cystitis here). Seems a bit unfair!

@PaulineFowlersCardigan I'm not very social, so I'm quite intrigued by WW and SW. Is it the structured plan or the group accountability or the sense of not doing it alone that helps?

@illiterato Confession: I have never worn a bikini. You are my queen.

@Horsetreestick Hello. This isn't a quick fix, but do you journal, is that something you would consider? So each time you catch yourself about to eat your feelings, you write them instead. It doesn't have to be well-written, or in a pretty book, just an old exercise book, or draft email, and stream of consciousness is perfect. Even if it's just pages and pages of repetitive negativity about yourself and the world to start with. Get it out. Morning Pages style. Don't read it. Just write. It's not supposed to be easy, or fun, more like brushing your teeth, a healthy habit to get into. Maybe worth a try?

How is everyone else doing?

This post brought to you by a burst of early morning energy 💪 Apologies to anyone/everyone I missed out xxx

Stravaig · 28/10/2022 08:21

Apologies to anyone/everyone I missed out xxx

@HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks Our dear leader 😳 Good morning to you!

PeloFondo · 28/10/2022 08:24

About damn time!
Starting weight 18st 5
Goal weight 14 stone

Fuck I'm so lardy, I've hit peak fatness and need to sort it out.
Stravaig · 28/10/2022 08:27

@PeloFondo 🥳

TabithaTittlemouse · 28/10/2022 13:24

@Stravaig you’ve sold journaling to me!

well done @PeloFondo

Sodullincomparison · 28/10/2022 20:17

Woohoo!!! That’s awesome @PeloFondo

I think this is my comfort level of accountability- not sure I could handle the public weighing 🤣🤣

I haven’t eaten badly this week but I am sooooo bloated and uncomfortable. Looking forward to it no longer being half term and being able to focus again.

A weekend of pumpkin painting and Halloween parties beckon. I have already offset some of the baking by saying it is for DH’s team at work so we don’t tuck in.

Thank you all for continuing this conversation and check ins. We have eight weeks until Christmas- that can make a big difference if we keep going.

👊🏻

ReginaPerrin · 28/10/2022 22:47

@PeloFondo fantastic! It’s always a big buzz when you get to the next stone down.

illiterato · 29/10/2022 10:53

Hi Everyone- I've been enjoying the photos and tips from everyone

@Stravaig A neat omelette is always satisfying isnt it? My bikini wearing is facilitated by my shape as even though I'm a bit heavy, it's on my hips and butt rather than my waist and honestly, at my age , no-ones looking at me anyway so I can do what I want Grin. I also noticed that younger women seem much more bikini confident regardless of size, which is great to see. Plenty of bigger teens in skimpy swimwear at the pool.

@PeloFondo congrats on hitting the 16's. I'm going to be so excited when I get to 70.something. Seem to have been in the 71's forever!!

@Sodullincomparison Yep- 8 weeks! Even if I lose 1/2 pound a week it's still 2kg so will be happy with that. I really only have 7 weeks as going skiing the week before Christmas (or probably hiking looking at the snow forecasts- FML) but I'll just have to ski hard and drink light, rather than the other way round.

@TabithaTittlemouse I'm also a tea addict. Cant get enough of the stuff. I pretty much chain drink it when I'm at home.

Had a little sneaky weigh today and didn't put on weight on holiday which I'm happy about as it was very sedentary. I did get in the gym a few times but just for weights. Did Park Run this morning for the first time in forever. Next week I'm determined to get into the 70's. Kids are back at school and no social plans other than a work dinner on Thursday. Going to London shopping on Friday so will at least get a very good step count.
