It would appear that all I do is stuff my face with crap, lots of crap.

I'm going to try and sort myself out, starting tomorrow.

I'm scared, I'm useless at dieting but it's getting serious. I'm so unhappy, I caught sight of myself in the window walking past Costa coffee today. It was grim.

Anyone want to join me?

Weigh day tomorrow.

@HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks I hope the Covid jag is treating you gently and good luck with the flu one today ❤️

HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks · 18/10/2022 09:18

@Stravaig I have full on side effects from the covid jab, I was even sick in the night. Can't stop shaking with cold. Thankfully I'm getting a lift to get the flu jab later so all I have to do is sit passenger side and feel sorry for myself. Thanks for asking.

@HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks Oh no, that's horrible! Well done for persevering with the flu jag. Sending love and warm drinks and cosy blankets.

Stravaig · 18/10/2022 09:30

@HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks Drinking root ginger steepd in boiling water helps with nausea, and is warming. Plus honey for comforting. I always forget this when I'm the poorly one!

PeloFondo · 18/10/2022 09:41

Bit of a whoosh today and dropped 2lbs
Got a spin class challenge at the weekend and got to do 50 miles Grin

Stravaig · 18/10/2022 13:01

Today's big pot meal, not-bolognese. Sauce from a jar, instructions say add browned mince, serve with pasta, 4 portions. I make it with 500g mince, 3 large sweet red peppers, a punnet of chestnut mushrooms, sometimes leeks or red onions, the jar of sauce, red wine, rosemary. Makes 10 portions - I freeze in 5 lots of 2, but could easily do 3x3 or 2x5 or whatever. Easy comfort food! Serve with wholewheat pasta or sautéed potatoes or black beans. Garnish with basil and cheese.

I'm sure everyone can already rustle up a not-bolognese, so this is more of an 'encourage freely adding tons of extra vegetables' post!

PeloFondo · 18/10/2022 18:19

I have fitted into my new jeans!

LadyHester · 18/10/2022 18:52

Still feeling fat and miserable. Have ordered a juice cleanse to start on Monday in the hope that it will give me a kick start.

HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks · 18/10/2022 19:15

@PeloFondo they look lovely on you. You have a great figure.

@PeloFondo they look lovely on you. You have a great figure.

Thank you. I am just under 17 stone now so a few more to lose!

HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks · 18/10/2022 19:25

@PeloFondo you must be tall then, you look tiny. What's your ideal weight?

@PeloFondo you must be tall then, you look tiny. What's your ideal weight?

I'm 5ft 10 and absolute ideal would be 13 stone but I've not been that low since a teenager. 15 stone is my current goal weight

Sodullincomparison · 18/10/2022 20:01

@HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks Hope your flu vaccine went well and you are getting some rest.

@PeloFondo well done on the jeans!!! They look fab.

second day of juicing here and it went really well all day until 4.30pm and I was sooooo hungry! I had some chicken and cauliflower at 6pm

terrible headache which could be from toxins as I never get headaches.

I was 2lbs down this morning and I’ll be interested to see how it balances out at the end of the week.

HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks · 18/10/2022 20:20

@Sodullincomparison yes the flu jab was ok, I'm glad that it is done now. I've been asleep for most of the day as still feeling unwell from the covid jab. Hopefully tomorrow I will be feeling more normal. Thanks for asking.

I’ve had a couple of ok days- few choccy snacks here and there but not terrible. Haven’t had any wine despite DS being pretty stroppy and teenagerish. Given myself a massive kick up the backside re my masters that is dragging on and on. Told my supervisor it’ll be done by Feb so really need to just do it. I have no excuse- I’m a SAHM to school age kids FFS.

Sodullincomparison · 18/10/2022 21:08

@illiterato masters are painful towards the end - you become blind to the words. good luck with it all! a few weeks to get stuck in.

some new work dresses arrived today but aim determined these will be the last that I buy in this size and I will be back into my proper work clothes soon.

there was a massive tub of chocolates in work today and I wasn’t even tempted although I tempted everyone else in an effort to get them finished.

@HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks you’ve had such a tough couple of weeks, I hope you feel brighter tomorrow x
Today has been really positive, lots of steps, lots of water, no smoking and zero chocolate hobnobs!! Have taken myself to bed as I’m snacky.
I think I’ve had a real shock as I ended up buying the bigger jeans, and even they were snug on me 😕. I tried the trick @illiterato but I think I’d been fooling myself just how tight they were..
@Runnerduck34 sorry I didn’t realise I hadn’t answered, I find it really hard to keep up when threads fast moving! I did break through it, but I do have a small Oatmilk coffee every morning, then eat between 12/1pm. It really made the difference, and although not ‘strictly’ fasting, I have more energy and just feel clearer when I’m doing 16/8. Now I just need to carry on with the better food during eating window x

LadyHester · 19/10/2022 18:05

How is everyone doing today? I’m feeling perkier after being rigorous with the food intake and seeing a difference - albeit a slight one - on the scales.

PeloFondo · 19/10/2022 18:27

Had a bit too much chocolate at lunch time but period due so....

18hr fast until 1pm
Lunch - chicken and coleslaw sandwich, bag of lentil crisps, choc bar
Tea - mushroom and goats cheese omelette with a couple of pieces of salami, mixed veg

Sodullincomparison · 19/10/2022 18:54

@PaulineFowlersCardigan well done on managing it alongside no smoking!

@LadyHester thats great!

@pelofondo- is the fasting working.

ended three days of juice with a small dinner at 6pm. Didn’t weigh this morning due to DD being a positive delight!! 🤣

felt absolutely fine fasting during work hours as it is crazy busy at the moment but came home to work at 4pm as I was so hungry again at this point.

maybe I need to work part time to make this work!

PeloFondo · 19/10/2022 18:57

Yes definitely
It helps me stop thinking about food because well, I'm not eating
So I don't think oh I'll just have this or that, I'm either eating lunch, or tea or it's not time for food

LadyHester · 19/10/2022 19:18

That moment when you come in from work is always tricky, isn’t it? I always find myself heading to the biscuit tin.

HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks · 19/10/2022 19:45

I'm feeling so much better now my covid/flu jab side effects have subsided. I celebrated with fish and chips for tea.

Sodullincomparison · 19/10/2022 19:59

@HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks is that your first proper meal for ages?! Yummy!

yes, I like that idea that food isn’t an option to be considering. We have a meal plan and that makes like so much easier- no more tired debates on what to have and whoever is home first can make it.

i think I can find a rhythm to the weeks to keep going for a while and now to figure out the weekends.
