It would appear that all I do is stuff my face with crap, lots of crap.

I'm going to try and sort myself out, starting tomorrow.

I'm scared, I'm useless at dieting but it's getting serious. I'm so unhappy, I caught sight of myself in the window walking past Costa coffee today. It was grim.

Anyone want to join me?

Weigh day tomorrow.

Yesterday was great food and walking wise, not so great smoking but only had a couple so one thing at a time and I really want to get my eating under control.
Todays plans are long walk with the dog, soup for lunch and lots of veg with dinner, (cut out the hobnobs!! ) 2 days in and already feel less bloated.
@HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks hope the dentist goes ok 🤞🏻

ofHardey · 06/10/2022 08:39

@TabithaTittlemouse it all starts in the mind so well done on starting to think about the gym . Why not make a call for an induction today? All they do during the induction is show you how to use the machines. If your gym offers personal training then the first session is usually free to give you a taster of what it's like, and PTs always go according to your ability not a pre determined programme.

I started with a pt at the beginning of this year and did three months with her and I loved every second - I now know how to do lots of exercises and can confidently write myself a programme for the day.

HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks · 06/10/2022 08:46

Thanks @PaulineFowlersCardigan I can not stress enough how much I hate the dentist. I'm such a big baby. Just walking there now.

End of first week for me, and 2 kg down, despite the teaspoon incident. 🥳

(Oh how much more if I hadn't done that, squandering the precious rapid loss of the first week or so. 😒)

I'll check again on Mon to sync with the group.

Solidarity! I have serious dentist phobia. Even after finding a great dentist in a lovely practice, I still struggle to get myself there.

RunningKatie · 06/10/2022 08:52

I'm aiming to fast till lunchtime today then chicken salad, yogurt and fruit for lunch.
Then I think it's filled pasta, chicken and salad tonight.
I've started having a miso soup sachet at 5pm, this is when I'm in the kitchen making food for the dc and I start eating random stuff. Having a soup there seems to be helping, and it's only 20 cals.

Yes I don't know why I have such fear. I can honestly say Ive never been hurt at the dentist. I'm now in the waiting room shaking.

Are those actual sugar cubes?!

The waiting room is the worst for me, my anxiety ratchets straight up in there. I found it easier during the pandemic, waiting outside in the open air - so at my last appt, I asked to stay outside, even though the waiting room was open again. (They are used to me).

Have you told the practice you struggle? Mine are really helpful and understanding.

PeloFondo · 06/10/2022 09:25

start weight 18st 4
Current weight 17st 1 (new low!)
goal 14st

Day off exercise today as I haven't had one in a bit and lots to do tonight!
Lunch will be my usual sandwich (I don't get much time to eat so it has to be quick) and yoghurt
Probably chicken and veg for tea as I have some that needs using up

This is my last 30 days of exercise

Fuck I'm so lardy, I've hit peak fatness and need to sort it out.
PaulineFowlersCardigan · 06/10/2022 09:35

@PeloFondo that is fantastic!

TabithaTittlemouse · 06/10/2022 09:40

@HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks good luck. I’m a dentist avoider.

@ofHardey appointment booked for 2 weeks time (I’m away next week). I’ll definitely ask about a PT.

Everyone is doing really well!

I am on it today! Body Pump class first thing and then just took myself for an hour's walk as it is such a beautiful day. The walk did take me past my favourite coffee place so I had a skinny cappucino which means I've broken my fast three hours early.
I'm trying to work out why I am so on it this week. I think it's because, after a manic six months, work is back to normal levels so I'm not coming home utterly drained, hitting the biscuit tin and then chasing that sugar high. I also think my youngest has matured a bit more now he's gone into Yr6 so is sorting his own bags out, telling me if sports kit is dirty and when he needs it for and a few other things like that which massively cut down on the mental load especially as Yr8 DC1 has done the same for a while. It also means I'm doing less nagging, they're resisting less and so stress levels are lower.
I think it also helps that I'm getting up and exercising straight away. It really helps my mood and focus for the day. It also means I don't have it hanging over me all day and then a sense of failure when I prevaricate and don't do it.
Let's hope it continues!

PaulineFowlersCardigan · 06/10/2022 18:25

Ok so today has been a good day, lots of walking, soup for lunch, and a lovely salmon salad for dinner. Lots of water. I’m going to weigh in on a Friday so I’m hoping to see even a teeny bit of a drop tomorrow to keep me motivated!

PaulineFowlersCardigan · 06/10/2022 18:26

@HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks how was the dentist?

HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks · 06/10/2022 20:01

@PaulineFowlersCardigan The dentist was ok, I'm having to have some really old silver fillings replaced with white ones. Zero pain but mentally it really freaks me out. £380 for three new fillings, that bit hurt. Thanks for asking how it went.

Dh brought home chocolate cake and I’ve been mindlessly eating a slice before seeing this and remembering that I’m not eating cake 🤣

Sounds like you've had a good day. I've been drinking lots of water too. I was a Diet Coke addict, which has been replaced now with water. Good luck with your appointment with the scales in the morning. Fingers crossed.

@HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks totally understand, hate the dentist. Also because they never seem to have any good news lately..
Thankyou, I have a coke habit, the full sugar kind, it’s an addiction, so I’m trying to cut it out. Now just or weight but for teeth too 🙈 we can do this

HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks · 06/10/2022 20:43

@PaulineFowlersCardigan to be honest I'm surprised I have any teeth left after years of fags, Coke and huge quantities of sugar, but I'm really trying to sort my teeth out and the damage I've caused, not to mention my fatness. I'm a work in progress.

Soooo
Today’s menu has consisted of a piece of carrot cake from the café at work, and a family size bag of Twiglets for dinner. I’m probably within my calorie limit but I’m not sure it’s a nutritionally recommended daily intake.

Jenasaurus · 06/10/2022 21:29

Today I ate

Breakfast = Raspberries, blueberries, grapes, strawberries, greek yoghurt, and a 10 cal jelly plus a benecol - 311 cal and 36.4 carbs

Lunch - Braised beef and mash, with cabbage, carrots, sugar snap peas, caulflower, broccoli and sprouts (need loads of veg to help my diabetes cope with the small amount of mash and slow it down, plus I need the fibre :)
Lunch cals - 588 - 46.9 carbs

Not eaten dinner as feeling sick, but thats 899 cals and 83 carbs for the day.

I have also started have apple cider vinegar with ginger tumeric capsules (good for my liver and bloating) and taking dandelion extract (shapers) to help my pancreas make more insulin (diabetes) - I have noticed since starting these this week I have been passing wind like a trumpet and feeling quite sick, so may have to stop, I have my appointment with the doctor soon to discuss my latest blood test results so will ask him if these tablets are OK, both are herbal but even herbal can cause issues with diabetics :)

Hope everyone is doing well and looking forward to the weign in on Monday x
