It would appear that all I do is stuff my face with crap, lots of crap.

I'm going to try and sort myself out, starting tomorrow.

I'm scared, I'm useless at dieting but it's getting serious. I'm so unhappy, I caught sight of myself in the window walking past Costa coffee today. It was grim.

Anyone want to join me?

Weigh day tomorrow.

Identical stats to you @Poppyrose22 - 175cm tall & 84.4kg. Aiming for 78kg by Christmas & 70kg longer term.

Woke up late so breakfast was a coffee, lunch was a big salad bowl from work & dinner was salmon with broccoli and pea/sweetcorn. Also had half a muffin split with DS.

WFH tomorrow so that will be a challenge for avoiding snacking. Thinking Greek yoghurt & fruit then soup for lunch and enchiladas for tea. I’m also attempting to fit in a 25 min yoga class tomorrow too

Dyrne · 03/10/2022 22:10

This thread is perfect timing, definitely some sort of sign!

Am the largest I’ve ever been - weighed in this morning at 92.7kg and am determined to draw the line here.

Have done a Fast day of 5:2 today - 507 calories. I need the focus of “can’t eat anything” because I don’t do moderation - definitely struggle with Eating my Feelings and binge eating.

Hopefully this will have the additional benefit of saving money as I’ve been silly recently buying snacks every day.

IDidNotSignUpForThis · 03/10/2022 22:17

Weighed in this morning with horror. Have been quietly coming to terms with it all day 😂 this group is helping me to feel a bit more positive. Have eaten well today, cereal for breakfast, jacket potato, tuna and salad for lunch and grilled salmon rice and veg for tea. Fat free yoghurt, fruit and a small packet of crisis shared with the dog for snacks. Evenings are the hardest- that is when I would usually stuff my face! Heading to bed now trying to ignore slight hungry feelings in my tum! Well done everyone! Xx

AnnieHoooo · 03/10/2022 22:39

Good day here.

Took vitamins
Planned meals
Wore my Fitbit - 6k steps
Made my work lunch for tomorrow
Put on all my old gym gear - it fits!
Mental health - good

Couldn't be arsed going out to battle the rain and wind today.

LadyHester · 03/10/2022 23:01

@IDidNotSignUpForThis a small packet of crisis shared with the dog - impressed with your forbearance. My packets of crisis are always family sized and never shared with the dog.

ofHardey · 04/10/2022 01:26

I love this thread! Well done to all on the first day Star

Breakfast : two boiled eggs and a cup of tea (omitted the bread)

Snack: banana

Lunch: a pear and a pink lady apple, with half tablespoon of peanut butter.

Dinner: chicken & veg soup (homemade) with two slices of bread.

Probably a lot of sugar with all the fruit but hey at least it's not refined sugar 😆

I was up and a lot more active today.

My ibs was sooooo much better today as was my mental health. I think that was my biggest win today!

Sending everyone strength for day 2. We've GOT THIS!

TomBradysLeftKneecap · 04/10/2022 01:35

Well that's awesome as I'm exactly the same weight. I got a bit complacent as I used to be 205 lbs and I still feel slim compared to that but feel 100% fat compared to how I was a year ago. I loved lockdown. All I did was exercise lol.

TomBradysLeftKneecap · 04/10/2022 01:41

Oh, and food...
Equivalent of a Petit Filous (don't live in UK) and a bowl of blueberries
Avocado toast with a poached egg for lunch and some left over dim sum as a snack
Seafood chowder and roasted sweet potato and halloumi salad, one slice of French bread garlic bread for dinner.

Half an hour of Peloton tread
10 minutes on the rower with Apple +
10 minutes strength class with Peloton.

TomBradysLeftKneecap · 04/10/2022 01:44

I know the mantre is always "you can't run away from a bad diet" but I know from experience you can exercise yourself into wanting to eat better and that's what I'm heading back to. Hopefully 😂

That works for me too indeed!
I always feel like eating something full of vitamins and goodness after a good gym session, especially if it is something like spin (static bike run)
I did ok yesterday, I did not finish my lunch, I will have it today with salad. I had one toast with my soup instead. But I did not feel hungry, all good so far! I do become more religious as I go along.

Aim for today:
Scrambled eggs with one toast and coffee
1/3 yesterday lasagne with large salad
Yellow split peas and sweet potatoe curry with basmati rice

Soup is my best friend in winter. Comforting, feeling and low in calories 😋

ShakeItOff40 · 04/10/2022 06:47

So many people joining in! Am reading every comment, everyone has made me smile or nod in recognition.

i half heartedly started 2 weeks ago, gave myself a good talking to, and would say for the first time in 2 weeks, stuck with what I said I was going to do. Meals were good, no booze or snacks in the evening. What’s most important was I wasn’t grumpy about it. I think you ladies have helped the shift.

Now to gain some momentum!

HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks · 04/10/2022 07:36

Morning all, it was so nice waking up this morning knowing that I didn't stuff my face all day yesterday.

I needed this thread. Thank you @HairyKnobsAndBroomsticks and for all the posters who have made me laugh.
I am NOT going to have cake or chocolate for breakfast or indeed any meal today.
Porridge & fruit for breakfast
Scrambled eggs & veg for lunch
Small portion of homemade lasagne & half plate salad for dinner.

ofHardey · 04/10/2022 08:07

Morning all!

I've still got a really awful chesty cough, always worse in the mornings! However I have hauled my arse out of bed earlier as dd3 hadn't done her homework and I needed to cut her nails which I noticed at bedtime were getting long!

Today in my self care goals I need to:

Go for a one hour walk
Book my smear test which is several weeks late
Put on a wash and general tidy tidy home tidy mind

Anyone feel absolutely exhausted around about a week before their period ?? 6 days away and I could actually sleep another 12 hours. I've been monitoring my period symptoms on an app called Moody and it is so accurate it's freaky.

Bumblefeet · 04/10/2022 09:07

Morning all,
I did well yesterday in trying circumstances. I started my period, despite not having one for 6 months, and just starting HRT. I also had a bad cold, which would usually have me roaming the kitchen for carbs like a woman possessed, but I made do with one slice of toast, then went to bed.

Today's aims:
Breakfast - Wholemeal toast
Lunch - Salmon and roasted veg
Evening meal - Chicken curry, no rice

Snacks - Yoghurt, an apple

Then hopefully an exercise class tonight if this cold goes away.

Good luck everybody!

RunningKatie · 04/10/2022 09:10

This thread is so good for me. Yesterday was a good day, I'm off out today on a much needed day off. It involves coffee and lunch, so I'm aiming for healthy choices.
Quorn lasagne and a big salad for dinner tonight.
I feel better in myself knowing out there that there is a group of us trying our best.

TheVeryThing · 04/10/2022 09:11

Morning all. Yesterday wasn’t brilliant but am in the office today with healthy breakfast and lunch. I’m having to do all dog walks at the moment as dh has an injured ankle so it’s hard to fit in any other exercise (that’s my excuse anyway).
good luck for today to everyone.
I follow esg fitness on instagram and find her very good, if anyone is in need of a little inspiration.

strawberrybarn · 04/10/2022 09:37

Morning all!

I have a busy day today then I am planning pesto halloumi & roast veg for tea (OMAD). I'm hungry now but drinking all the water and trying to ignore my hungry tum!

2 miles walked this morning.

Keep on keeping on all, we've got this!

Stravaig · 04/10/2022 10:20

I'm honour bound to report that yesterday's incident with a teaspoon and jar of chocolate spread was reflected in the scales this morning, and my flying start is now somewhat diminished. 😕

PeloFondo · 04/10/2022 10:23

Weight diary lite is a great app if anyone wants to weigh and track, gives you a handy graph and averages out losses and gains

Emmmie · 03/10/2022 21:20

Apple and cheese as a snack sounds like a great idea and I am sure it will keep me full for longer than a chocolate would. Thank you for the suggestion!

I know it sounds weird but it's always been my DM's go to snack. Have to be careful with the portions of cheese. I now have Cathedral City Lighter. It's surprising how much it fills you up and even the cutting up of the apple helps!

In the past when I was younger and slimmer I also snuck a Digestive biscuit in there and also spread apples with some sort of strawberry/plum jam.

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 04/10/2022 10:27

I did indeed end up stuffing my face - M&S salsa with their cheese biscuits, chocolate etc.

Today I feel sick - dodgy stomach so not eaten yet but blueberries and fruit and fibre in a bowl near me.

I find, I know it sounds silly typing this, but if you share your choices, you're more able/likely to stick to them. A bit like a slimming club but everyday.

And the best thing is, if someone has eating/exercising tips they just add them on and if they work for you, great, if not great too.

ofHardey · 04/10/2022 10:29

2.9 mile walk - CHECK !
Smear test booked - CHECK!

Shower had, make up done, on to a healthy breakfast of boiled eggs and a slice of sourdough. Yum!

LadyHester · 04/10/2022 11:02

Yogurt with fresh raspberries for breakfast. Out to lunch which will be a challenge but will probably skip dinner.
Exercise is challenging as I have arthritis but I should manage to heave my body for at least a brief stroll with the dog.
