MrsBigD · 08/01/2005 16:04

HELP ! pmt has hit me severely and I WANT CHOCOLATE! Am satsumaed out. Any suggestions how I can save my just begun diet!?

champs · 08/01/2005 16:43

a little bit of choc? or is it the case that once you have a little, you want alot? Low fat hot choc like options? banana? how about a bowl of cocopops? used to cure my choc fix and only few points and filled up more than choc.

OP posts:
MrsBigD · 08/01/2005 16:46

I'm a born chocaholic An open choclate bar is ... GONE

I'll try the loc cal hot chocolate thingy with a baby banana
thank you

BubblesDeVere · 08/01/2005 17:00

not done too good today, gone 3.5 points over and still not had dinner, all because of Te dh. (See my other thread)

PuffTheMagicDragon · 08/01/2005 17:11

Bubbles, don't worry, you can compensate over the next couple of days.

MrsBigD · 08/01/2005 17:56

Bubbles - don't beat yourself up about it. you'll get back on track.

Interestingly enough I've read an article today that stated that stress is one of the major contributors for overeating!

BubblesDeVere · 08/01/2005 18:03

Thats me sorted them MrsBigD, thing is i'm dissapointed as I failed in my first week, doesn't hold out much hope does it?

MrsBigD · 08/01/2005 19:40

you did NOT fail! Just a minor set-back Stick to it girl!

bran · 08/01/2005 23:09

Hello everyone, old and new. I'm back from Germany, and today is my first day counting my WW points since Christmas Eve. As I suspected this thread is suddenly very popular after the excesses of Christmas , it's taken me about 15 mins just to read it and catch up with everyone. Congrats to those who did well over Christmas, especially you Woodpops. I'll know at my weigh-in on Wednesday just how badly I've slipped, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's less than 7 lbs.

monkeygirl · 08/01/2005 23:22

Welcome back Bran - was the trip business or pleasure?

Bubbles - failed is such an ugly word - do not use it please! It's a set-back but we're all here to hold your hand, or give you a kick, whichever you prefer.

MrsBigD - I am a chocoholic and now have a milky way to satisfy it. They're only about 50 cals and sweet as buggery so it does satisfy a craving (I also make sure I buy the single packs only as well).

Am quietly smug this week as only drank a bottle of wine the whole week and did not binge on a takeaway today - it really helps having a dh who is doing this with me, Gawd love him.

bran · 08/01/2005 23:38

Not business MG, and not entirely pleasure either. I went to visit a pg friend who has been having total bed rest for the last 10 weeks so that I could look after her while her dh was away to two nights bringing their daughter to her mother (my friend's mother that is) until after the birth as my friend obviously can't look after her and her dh has to work. Unfortunately she had to be admitted to hospital while her dh was away, so it all got a little fraught. But all is well now, and I think she will probably stay in hospital now until the birth. Hopefully I will have lost pounds with all the stress and worry , although she did have a chocolate cupboard (she's Swiss so she's never without really good chocolate) which I had a really good go at depleting .

Your dh sounds great, and well done on avoiding the take-away. I've found that Pad Thai is quite low on WW points, so when I have the urge for a take-away I usually go for that, delicious, especially with lots of chili.

monkeygirl · 08/01/2005 23:47

How frustrating for your friend although must admit if someone offered me bedrest for a few months now I would happily accept! How much longer does she have then?

Ah Swiss chocolate (drool emoticon).

And thai food (more drooling) - love it and yes we have decided that our next takeaway will be a Thai one (how sad are we - must admit we are both being good but obsessing about food atm).

soapbox · 08/01/2005 23:56

Hi Bran and Monkeygirl - thought I'd come in since your around and confess my christams sins

I managed to put on 7lbs over christmas - came off Lighterlife and ate for 2 weeks - was bl**dy fnatastic.

However, been back on the packs all this week and have lost all the christmas weight. Will stay on the packs for another couple of weeks I think!

Bran - you sound like you've had a very stressful time - hope there's not too much evidence of you chocolate munching on the scales when you weigh in

Monkeygirl - glad I'm not the only one who managed to put on a few pounds over the festive season!

Woodpops - what a girl - don't know how you've done it!

bran · 09/01/2005 00:23

Well done for getting the weight off again so quickly Soapbox, it sounds as though you really enjoyed your Christmas too. How much do you still have to loose?

My friend is in week 29 MG, she's hoping to make it to at least 33 weeks, but obviously the longer the better.

I wonder if chili is an appetite supressant, I always feel full for ages after Thai food. And even if I cook something very healthy at home, it tastes more filling (and naughty) if I add lots of chili to it.

soapbox · 09/01/2005 00:26

Bran - I have a friend who had premmie twins in Oct. She started having problems at 23 weeks but held on in the end to 33 weeks. Twins are still in hospital though, but doing well

Hope your friend is okay!

I've just cooked a whole batch of veg curry for DH for the freezer - and it smells delicious and so very tempting! So not sure about the chilli as an appetite supressant as its not helping mine right now

monkeygirl · 09/01/2005 10:30

But worth it eh Soapbox . But you're another one who's done incredibly well so hope you're not beating yourself up about it.

Bran - fingers crossed for your friend - sounds very stressful. Chillis are meant to rev up your metabolism briefly aren't they?? But I guess for me can't eat a massive amount cos I know I will suffer the consequences the next day, iykwim!

glitterfairy · 09/01/2005 10:33

Hi Guys and happy New Year am back from Egypt about ten stone fatter as the food was awesome and Beety let me eat it too. She did get me to the gym twice though which was good.

Even Beets ate well! Although I did once or twice have four pancakes with chocolate sauce for breakfast!

Champs hun how are you? Bran???

PuffTheMagicDragon · 09/01/2005 10:38

Glad you had a good time in Egypt glitter. I went a few years ago in the middle of August - hot, hot, hot (my sweat would evaporate as soon as it appeared on my skin!), but what a beautiful country. Looking forward to going back when the boys are older.

I think I've lost the weight I put on over Xmas etc (had put on less than I thought when I checked my diary). Official weigh in tho' on Tues. Sounds as though everyone is doing really well .

glitterfairy · 09/01/2005 17:22

OOh am going to have to try harder soon. I will get back on the programme, I will will will will....

bran · 09/01/2005 17:29

Hi Glitter, I'm glad you had a good time in Egypt. I'm that you ate pancakes though. Has Beetroot reverted to her normal sargent major style behaviour now that the holiday is over?

Well done Puff for loosing the Christmas weight, I'm having my first weigh-in for 3 weeks on Wednesday and then I'll know how bad the damage really is [fear emoticon]. I did really enjoy it though, so even if I've put on a few pounds I think it was worthwhile.

glitterfairy · 10/01/2005 11:31

Hiya Bran Egypt was great and so were those pancakes . Ah well once I have got over my current bout of flu/cold/pneumonia/death type illness I will be abck on track and at the gym.

FatFluckerFio · 10/01/2005 11:49
