Hi beetroot, hi fio and welcome .

I too absconded from Cod's diet thread due to my largeness in comparison to others. I just couldn't cope with "oi fatties" cos I am one! However have lost 3 stone so far so that's not bad.

FatFluckerFio · 10/01/2005 14:03

its just a bit depressing puff that most of them who are trying to lose are my target weight!

handlemecarefully · 10/01/2005 14:57

Must admit fatfucker, I did have a brief glance at that thread when it first started and noted that coddy only wanted to loose about half a stone...and thought - well it's not the place for me! Glad you have defected over here.

Have just read in the Daily Mirror (I know..not very high brow)that too little sleep stimulates the production of a chemical that makes you hungry. So that must be why I am struggling lately.

Started diet a two or three weeks before Christmas and lost around 8lbs, but nothing since. However I have been cheating a little!

Will have to stay off alcohol because I find that after 1 glass of wine my eating inhibitions evaporate and its off to the toaster for endless rounds of marmite on toast. When sober, my will power is much better.

PuffTheMagicDragon · 10/01/2005 16:07

lol Fio - I would luuuuuuurve to be 10st something! Still I am DETERMINED I will be. It's just going to take..........a while!

PuffTheMagicDragon · 10/01/2005 16:08

hmc - I'm exactly the same re alcohol - 2 glasses of wine and I've got the butter out and my head in the breadbin !

monkeygirl · 10/01/2005 16:11

Oh yes I saw that thread and almost choked on my donut (kidding, I mean my stick of celery, natch). Oh to be in that position...I woul also love to be in your position Puff of having lost 3 stones, sigh.

bran · 10/01/2005 17:35

Welcome fio. I have to admit that I had problems with the long-term bit when I first joined WW, but in fact the first month was the worst while I was trying to get the sugar out of my system and since then I've found that I'm really enjoying what I'm eating so it doesn't seem too bad that I'll have to keep to a healthy diet forever. I think it's a bit like when I married I was a bit freaked out that I would never have sex with anybody other than dh, but now I realise it wasn't that I wanted to, it's just that I was worried about not having the choice.

How's it going HMC? What kind of diet are you doing? Perhaps you're still metabolising your Christmas and New Year's excesses and you will start losing again in the next week or so.

bran · 10/01/2005 20:10

OK, ignore my last post which implied that I'm coping well with the diet - I WANT CHOCOLATE. Fortunately there isn't any in the house, so I'm off to trawl the cupboards for something low GI and low point but good for nibbles.

FineFigureFio · 11/01/2005 06:53

awww thanks for the welcome ladies My downfall is def alcohol, a bottle of red wine a night goes down nicely then I just get hungry then there's fast food, indian and chinese takeaway, bacon sandwiches........I could go on I am trying to walk more but i am sure i have pulled a muscle in my backside! I am off to my weigh in this morning for the first time in a year (ouch) so will let you know how i get on.........I have sort of resigned myself to the fact that alcohol is a real problem for me though and |i am not drinking at all in the week now and me and dh are "sharing" () a bottle of red on a saturday night, and thats it!!!

bran i had to laugh at the being married thing

Kittypickle · 11/01/2005 07:59

Morning ladies and a big congratulations to Champ I am back and very serious about all this, again ! I rejoined WW last Wednesday and apart from a blip on Saturday I've stuck to it. I'm doing No Count, but counting the points and trying to make it low GI just to confuse myself. As for the long-term bit, I really do feel I've been doing it forever, makes me realise how I constantly yo-yo with my weight.

Fio, I am impressed that you have turned from a Fatflucker into a finefigure after a day

handlemecarefully · 11/01/2005 08:50

Fio,

Disappointed that I can no longer swear when I address you.

Bran the diet I am doing is calorie controlled (mostly sticking to healthy foods) and I am filling in an on line food diary on weightlossresources.co.uk...sticking to circa 1500 cals per day which should lead to loosing 1lb a week (am in no particular rush).

Screwed up again last night - after glass of wine ate 2 bags of crisps! Will be asking dh to put all the alcohol under lock and key tonight until the weekend.

woodpops · 11/01/2005 09:07

Good morning all. Didn't go to my weigh in last week so will be going tomorrow. I'm too scared to reintroduce food as I'm meant to bve doing. I've been without more or less since Sept. The only reason I didn't go was I couldn't be @rsed. I hadn't been naughty in the slightest. We even went out for a meal with 9 friends fo dh birthday to an eat as much as you want chinese and I had nothing just sat there with my water I was very proud of myself as chinese food is so easy to pick at.

MrsBigD · 11/01/2005 09:25

ok... been on the first weekly foodshop since I put dh and myself on diet last week... the trolly looked 'disgustingly' healthy and scarily devoid of any junk!

The 'long term' bit is a bit daunting, but dh has a long way to go and so do I so... better slow and steady which unfortunately will mean long-term

Now off to have breakfast

woodpops · 11/01/2005 09:33

MrsBigD, I expect the shopping cost you alot more than normal as well. I always find when I'm only buying 'healthy' stuff the bill comes to alot more than normal.

PuffTheMagicDragon · 11/01/2005 09:42

Have lost 3 and a half pounds this week - yippee! So, I've got rid of what I put on over Xmas and a little bit more.

woodpops · 11/01/2005 09:48

Yay, puff well done. It can be so hard to get back on track after Xmas can't it??

FineFigureFio · 11/01/2005 09:49

well done puff

MrsBigD · 11/01/2005 10:34

well done puff!

wood - bill was actually about the same, so yes you're right ... as I got less for it... ah welll the things I do not to feel like a hippo anymore

glitterfairy · 11/01/2005 10:55

OK Guys I need a good kick now and where is Champs with her whip when we need her?

woodpops · 11/01/2005 11:08

woodpops · 11/01/2005 12:13
