Hello!!! welcome to our new home let the virtual house warming begin

OP posts:
Flossam · 20/01/2005 12:02

I might give it a go Puff. I have been doing quite a bit of exercising, so it might be something to do with that. I am definately eating less, but think I would still be shocked to see it all written down. Going shopping today to get lots of nice healthy foods which can only help, and for the first time today, I did the whole of the workout! Had to build up slowly, as after just one section on bums and legs I had problems walking (REALLY painful) for two days! Isn't it awful to be that out of shape and unfit?

frequentmnetter · 20/01/2005 13:55

hi everyone

4th day without chocolate
not missing it all all!!!
helps that im full of cold and cant taste anything so wouldnt feel the benefit

bran · 20/01/2005 15:54

Are you also someone else frequentmnetter? Congrats on 4 days without choclate anyway - are you planning to give it up permanantly or just seeing how each day goes and maybe having some when you feel like it?

see how it all goes pear-shaped if you skip breakfast essbee!!

ANother day without chocolate or wine - this is surely a personal record.

handlemecarefully · 20/01/2005 22:08

Lol Bran - I like the rationale that meeting Graham Norton somehow mysteriously made you gain weight!

Bunny2 - I think that even when on a diet there is special dispensation to eat your children's culinary efforts...

Never mind Essbee - the trick is to write it off as a bad day and start afresh tomorrow. Don't try and cut your food intake tomorrow to try and compensate for today because that way you will be completely starving and might break the diet again!

Well I think I am on for a record weight loss by my weigh in next Tuesday. I've had a particularly nasty virus and my appetite has just evaporated! I've eaten just one and half slices of toast today plus 7 mouthfuls of pasta!

bran · 20/01/2005 23:04

Well HMC, he gets blamed for lots of things, like the falling quality of TV programmes, so I think he can shoulder a little more. And the excitement of meeting him gave me a heady rush, which was not dissimilar to having a 3rd piece of chocolate fudge cake which may have confused my body into suddenly gaining weight.

Don't worry Essbee, as HMC says tomorrow is another day, you might even be boosting your metabolism a bit by having a big meal. I suppose I should even ask whether you had steamed dishes and boiled rice or the full-fat fried dishes.

HMC I hope you're feeling better soon, even if being sick is good for weightloss, it's still miserable.

Bunny2 - you are will-power incarnate .

ooops, yes it was me who posted under frequent mnetter, supposed to be trying to be inconspicuous(sp) as i started a thread about helping dp, but as usual..buggerd that one upwasnt keeping myself from you lot, just incase he saw the thread in my usual name!

well just posted on other thread, that with the help of a nasty cold and loss of appetite(like hms), i have just had a bit of a cheating early weigh and ive lost another 3lb! saying that, lets hope i dont return to my normal pig of a self this weekend!!

anf this will be my fifth day without choccy..big

Flossam · 21/01/2005 10:39

Had a kind of extra meal yesterday . Had a jacket potato when out (DP had a burger king, so some resemblance of willpower was there, but god I was starving!). Nothing really unhealthy, other than croutons on my soup for tea! Porrige, marmite on toast, jacket potato with beans, a few prunes, soup and a roll and a yoghurt. Does that sound ridiculous amounts? I am breastfeeding so that is supposed to burn 500 calories a day? [hopeful emoticon]

Evesmama · 21/01/2005 10:41

that doesnt sound like a bad day flossam?, sounds quite sparse really?, were you still hungry? or is that your usual days eaying?

Evesmama · 21/01/2005 10:42

monkeygirl · 21/01/2005 11:01

Well done Evesmama re: choc and weight-loss! (I've been reading the other thread as well).

Flossam - How was the potato an extra meal then? Agree it looks sparse enough with it included.

I have also had a sneaky weigh-in and seem to have lost 3lbs this week so far. BUT am not going to get over-excited because the weekend is always the hardest - in fact, I might even not drink tonight and tomorrow, gulp.....then again...aaarrgh decisions, decisions...

Evesmama · 21/01/2005 11:02

hi bran, read one of your earlier posts and when i was going to s.w at the beginning the weight was coming of nice and steady with 2 or 3lbs a week, then one week id put on 1lb????id been brillient and was so gutted??then i thought about it and id actually finished work early that night and had a late dinner...a mammoth size jacket spud with beans(the heaviest food i could find really!), kept to the plan and when i went the week after i lost 6lb, from then on id have a light lunch and nothing to drink after say 3pm(weigh in was at 7pm)then have my tea when i got home( good idea to have it ready as otherwise i munched)..also i didnt eat bananas toward the end of the week as i found i didnt lose as much if i did???

Evesmama · 21/01/2005 11:14

hiya hun..well done yourself, think how chuffed you are now and hopefully that will help you reject satan..oops i mean choc and booze, remember a little of what you like does you good..dont feel deprived, but dont build yourself up for a fall iykwim, ill be gutted if my appetite comes back, bozze not a prob for me, just choccy, takeaways, bread, crumpets with pate, crisps..erm mostly everything else really

monkeygirl · 21/01/2005 11:22

Yum, crumpets with a thick layer of butter oozing over the sides [drool emoticon]...and the creme eggs are everywhere....

Nah, we can do this....and yes I will have a little bit of choc/booze soon maybe but I don't do 'little' very well atm.

Evesmama · 21/01/2005 11:25

little..whats little, does that mean..i can have a little black forest gateux as opposed to a family size one

monkeygirl · 21/01/2005 11:27

Is it just us but me and dh can easily polish off those cheesecakes etc that say '6 portions' on them .

Flossam · 21/01/2005 11:30

Thats not that unusual post xmas really. That is what I would call a good day, apart from the potato. Thats extra cause the marmite on toast was for lunch! I wasn't too hungry, apart from before the potato!

Evesmama · 21/01/2005 11:31

or a full festival cake from morrisons between the two of us(light sponge, topped with custard, topped with cream and covered in marzipan) just after dd born, sat in front garden with half each and scoffed the lot but bloody gorgeous!!
anyway...stop talking about the evil things that make us fat!!!im off to dry my hair and get weighed again, maybe the lack of moisture might help me lose another pound

might get to come back tonight, if not have a good weekend and if you cant be good be careful!!!
and thats to everyonex

Flossam · 21/01/2005 11:31

MG, yes, yes, yes! And pies and ready made meals that come from supermarkets! And also we got M and S cereal with a scoop! Tiny, tiny, tiny! How is that supposed to (really) keep you going?

monkeygirl · 21/01/2005 11:38

Well, thank f* for that! Soon as I posted I wondered if I'd exposed myself as the biggest bloater here ....

Have a nice weekend EM if I don't speak to you again...
