Very hot here too (Devon) but I'm loving it. I'm always cold and very miserable in cold weather. I only get my arms out for about 2-3 weeks in the year then it's jumper/cardigan/jacket back on.

Doing better today after a stern word with myself. My bedroom has had an unexpected clean as I wanted to keep moving. 😁

I am the opposite of a few on here, too hot to eat for me. So I just put some veg in the microwave and had it with leftover pie, nowhere near as much as normal.

Newdawnfreedom · 18/07/2022 22:12

@poorpaws I like your strategy of keeping busy in the evening. Thats my danger zone. If i don't stay away from the tv there will be a dorito incident. So tonight i went for a walk with a really fit friend and waited til she'd gone home around the corner to buy a brunch in the little shop 🙃

Yea 5k walk and swim was a good start! We mostly just bob about in the sea talk crap and plan new lives of freedom
Bought a lovely new oasis dress in charity shop for €4 earlier. It's fab but makes me look pregnant 🙈

TalkToTheHand123 · 18/07/2022 23:58

Np protein powder in my local Asda but passing a big Morrison's tomorrow. The powder kept me going quite well today although was kept quite busy too.

Stuffed my face tonight. Ready meal of paella and two long homemade style subways. Managed to keep away from the Gregg's next door to Asda surprisingly as was craving a pasty.

poorpaws · 19/07/2022 07:50

Good morning

I wish every day could be as good as yesterday. Not only did I dog walk, clean my bedroom, clean my bathroom and kitchen floor but it was after 8 pm and I still hadn't done my old exercise dvd.

I couldn't be bothered to put my exercise clothes and trainers on so thought I wouldn't bother doing it (again). Then I realised yet again what I was doing so closed the blind, stripped off to bra and pants, took my sandals off and just got it done! I don't know why I make such a big deal of it, it's about 25 mins, easy to do and I feel so much better when I actually do it. I have to remember tonight just how much better I felt for getting it done.

I went to bed without supper 😇 unheard of in this house. I'd be sooo thin if I could be like this on a regular basis.

DP is having a carpet fitted in his lounge today so I have the whole day to myself. I need to use my day wisely.

I hope you are all doing well and coping with this heat. Have a good Tuesday everyone.

Very impressed PP. Main target these next few days is just to get in a routine of early nights as this seems to be the main issue.

BeyondMyWits · 19/07/2022 08:34

Morning all, very little sleep last night, due to heat... and off to work today! Dh said he'll drop me off on his way to work which is nice (he normally goes much earlier than me). So at least I'll start work without being a gross sweat monster. Plenty of fluids will be the answer today.

Hope everyone is OK in the continuing heatwave.

Theredjellybean · 19/07/2022 21:00

I love the heat, basked happily in it today.

Theredjellybean · 20/07/2022 08:00

Good morning..
It's cloudy and muggy now.. Weather that makes my hair frizz..
Our dogs paddling pool is like a thick soup of grass, dog hair drowned bugs and god knows what and the garden is trashed by teenagers leaving belongings everywhere... Sigh
I'm off to London for next three days, which always makes the dieting harder... But determined to try really hard as down to 73.5 today.
I don't like ice cream so have swerved that temptation and definitely definitely going to stick to no alcohol... Yes definitely (crosses fingers behind back)

BeyondMyWits · 20/07/2022 08:12

Haha, good luck @Theredjellybean , that garden sounds familiar - dog, teenagers... I no longer have teenagers, youngest turned 20 last week... sigh...

lisalou1401 · 20/07/2022 08:31

Can I join you lovely ladies?! I'm waking up determined every day to lose this weight and every night I go to bed a failure! I've about 2-3 stone to lose, this used to be much easier but for some reason I just can't get in that zone and I'm getting bigger and more miserable 😩

Theredjellybean · 20/07/2022 08:37

@lisalou1401 ..welcome...any zone is OK here... Some of us are in it, some out of it, some doing the hokey pokey..
But overall we are supportive and while some of us have lost more than others we are mostly not gaining, so it's worth trying!

lisalou1401 · 20/07/2022 08:43

Sounds good! Love a bit of hokey pokey haha

ClinkyMonkey · 20/07/2022 09:49

Morning! I bit the bullet and weighed myself after several days of gay abandon. I have put on just under 2lbs. I'm not exactly delighted about it, but feel better for having found out where I am rather than continuing to bury my head in the pies😬🤣 I just haven't been able to stay on track. My DC have been off school since 1st July - ridiculous long summer holidays in NI - and the lack of structure is very bad for me. I care for my mum and am now going to her house at odd hours to fit in with doing stuff with the kids. I know, deep down, these are just excuses though. So, I'm giving myself a stern talking to and a boot up the arse! It's a new day and I'm going to look after my health properly.

Welcome @lisalou1401! Never mind hokey pokey. It's hocus pocus and abracadabra I need at the minute😃

lisalou1401 · 20/07/2022 09:58

Ugh the dreaded scales! I stood on mine and I've put on about 4lbs in a week. Surely the heat should make you lose weight?! I'm in Scotland our hols started end of June, I agree re routine. Although it's probably just me making excuses again!

triplecheeese · 20/07/2022 11:04

Hello everyone! Just checking in again, trying to regain the oomph. Still bobbling around 10st 8 (67kg) so no change, which I'm happy with as I've not weighed or stuck to my 7-7 eating at all. I realised that even though I've been eating chocolate etc, I've been around people so I've been eating less of it - not just bumbling around with the baby, shovelling cake in my face. Isn't shame weird? Also I went into the office for a couple of days (I work in the fitness-related industry... in the back office like!) and I can't believe how THIN everyone is.

@BeyondMyWits im also just back from center parcs! Not longleat though, a small one so no 26000 steps for me and I did NOT make sensible calorie choices!

@ClinkyMonkey congratulations on the smaller than expected gain. Nice not to suffer for gay abandon!

@Theredjellybean you did very well and made such healthy choices on holiday. I hope it settles for you over the next few days!

@poorpawswell done on getting your DVD out, i must do some exercise too. i hope you grab your oomph with both hands but try to be kind to yourself. Your body has got you through a lot this year ❤️

@lisalou1401 join the party! The hokey pokey should burn a few cals off at least

Im feeling vaguely motivated for the 1lb off by the end of July but also it's an emotional week so we're in the bingeing danger zone. Baby suffered in the heat and we haven't slept for days, but it's his nursery settling week where I have to hand him over then sit in the next room and listen to him cry... I know he'll adapt but it's tough. Plus hearing him cry has made my boobs leak. Classic times.

Good luck all.

Positivelypatient · 20/07/2022 11:24

Morning campers! Hope everyone is enjoying the cooler temperatures today? I am in Devon and it is overcast and reasonably pleasant now. Id be quite happy to fast forward to Winter after the last few days!

Have been quietly trying to plug away with the Intermittent fasting - though I had another weekend off - weighed on Monday morning and had gained a couple of lbs but weighed again this morning and now down by -5.5lbs. Happy with that and it has at least given me a bit more enthusiasm to continue.

If I can at least start to comfortably fit in to my current clothes it will be a start, instead of everything bursting at the seams.

lisalou1401 · 20/07/2022 12:50

@Positivelypatient I am so glad it's cooler today!! Finally was able to give my dog a walk again haha.

My 2 aims for now are 1) get my 10k steps in every day and 2) after dinner don't eat anything else (apart from fruit / yogurt etc). Late night snacking is doing me no favours.

I'm giving noom a try so will see how that goes

TalkToTheHand123 · 20/07/2022 12:59

Went on the scales this morning, it wanted to go under the 15.0 line but felt the need for a bit more time. Not too upset as feeling on the right track a bit more.

Lots of protein shakes with small amounts of powder keeping the hunger at bay to quite high success so far, ensuring I'm drinking plenty water too as for some reason keep forgetting this.

lisalou1401 · 20/07/2022 13:01

@TalkToTheHand123 I keep forgetting too. Really trying to keep drinking as much as possible! I can go a whole shift at work and not touch it once, just forget 🤦‍♀️

BeyondMyWits · 20/07/2022 15:45

Wow... everybody is talky today... home from work feeling much fresher today. Thank goodness!

Going for cooking stir fry tonight as I can finally bear to cook on the hob and I am in need of many vegetables, have been eating too many carbs I think, feel very bloated. But that could just be the litres of fluids the past couple of days.

poorpaws · 20/07/2022 20:44

Hi everyone, so nice to see this thread so busy.

@lisalou1401 welcome, do stick with us, I promise we don't bite 😀. So many new people have joined us, we've welcomed them and then they've left without a second post, I don't understand it.

Diet twin @triplecheeese you are doing so, so well and I can hardly believe you are only a smidge over 10.1/2 stones, very well done. You'll take some catching now (but I am genuinely delighted for you).

I just realised today we have people from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales (2 from Devon @Positivelypatient 😀), that just seems to make us complete and of course @CanadianJohn who is a bit further away.

After a terrible four days at the end of last week, Ive tried hard to turn it around. I've been a lot busier (which also means my house is cleaner), I've managed to do my dvd exercises on three consecutive evenings (although I have to keep repeating it's not a difficult routine) and I've cut my suppers down from a large to a small bowl of cereals. Tiny steps I know but I'm trying to lose as much as I can a lot this week.

It's been cooler here today, I hope everyone is doing ok with the heat.

OP posts:
lisalou1401 · 20/07/2022 21:20

@poorpaws I will! Oh I know I used to be part of a mums group online years ago. A few of us are still in touch to this day but others came and go with no more than 2 words 🙁

Glad you had a good day. I think losing anything is key but it's frustrating when you want to see a decent loss.

I've stayed within my calories today and done 10k steps wayhay!

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 20/07/2022 23:44

We finally have rain here and it's a bit cooler, wahey!! I really haven't enjoyed the heat. Had a cupboard to clean out today and I got very hot and sweaty - that must shed a couple of pounds, right?!

I've been doing an exercise video first thing in the morning @poorpaws, that way I feel virtuous for having done something Grin

poorpaws · 21/07/2022 07:58

@lisalou1401 I'm glad to know you are staying with us. I hope you manage to lose weight with us too.

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl first thing in the morning exercise, I am impressed! Sadly I can't copy you, because of the heat I am having to take the dogs out earlier (8.20am used to be 10am). By the time I've done my early morning chores it's time to take them out and not much time for anything else unless I get up even earlier. I've been fitting mine in during the evening because I've fallen out with television and it stops so much evening snacking, it seems to be working but I wonder for how long 🥴

It's much cooler this morning and I had a really bad night so I've no idea what today will bring. Have a good day everyone.
