Think I'm back on track. Weighed a couple under 15 stone, so back to where I was a week ago. The chicken pasty mustn't have been as damaging as I thought it would be and there being no buffet food left when I returned from visiting clients!!! This has done me a favour. Although had been thinking about the food for hours 😂.

Still can't seem to find food that will have me settled / sorted out on an evening, I'm just telling myself I just need to try deal with it!

endlesswashing · 17/08/2022 08:21

@TalkToTheHand123 glad you are back on track.

I am feeling very pleased with myself today as I've met my mini goal for August. It was only 1lb (I've lost 2lb) which means I've met another target of being 1 stone lighter for my holiday in 2 days time. I would have definitely not been as motivated or accountable without joining this thread.
Hope everyone has a good day and is enjoying a reprieve from the heat.

TalkToTheHand123 · 17/08/2022 10:58

Aw thanks, glad it's going well for you too @endlesswashing scales seem to have stopped showing a loss so going to try improve daily routine a bit.

BeyondMyWits · 17/08/2022 15:36

Hiya all... where does the time go! Can't believe we are mid August already. Life is pootling along slowly. Work is busy. And I have lost the "oomph" again. Just feeling a bit uninspired, dull I guess.

What is helping everyone feel motivated at the moment?

endlesswashing · 17/08/2022 19:04

@BeyondMyWits the thought of being in swimwear in public!
I've definitely had some less enthusiastic weeks but the losses keep me going. Sending you oomph.

TalkToTheHand123 · 17/08/2022 23:32

Stubbornness, as I refuse to be beaten! I do think I need to be a bit patient though as I am slowly improving my habits and having fewer slip ups so should find a couple more lbs less on the scales soon.

Made my latest batch of soup with a bit more water content and had 30mins on the mini exerciser bike tonight to step things up a bit.

Trying to get more relaxation / meditation / mindfulness into my routine also as this seemed to help lose weight a while ago.

triplecheeese · 18/08/2022 20:38

Yay well done @endlesswashing! Congratulations and have the BEST holiday!

I'm a bit confused as the scales told me I met my August goal on Monday... but I'm 1.5kg up today? Water retention? Am I coming down with something? Some period nonsense? Or is it chocolate? this is why its not good for me to weigh too often!

triplecheeese · 18/08/2022 20:39

@BeyondMyWits I know it helps my anxiety if I feel productive... so very slowly nudging the scales down feels like achievement!

TalkToTheHand123 · 18/08/2022 23:40

I'm hoping to stop weighing myself too often also. I just need to be confident I'm keeping on track, which touch wood, seems to be the case. I weigh myself on a night time and also morning. Tonight's weight is the first time to be under 15 stone so quite chuffed.

Tomorrow is a fish and chip binge😳 which I can't really avoid, but if I can be good for the rest of the weekend, I should be ok.😊

triplecheeese · 19/08/2022 06:51

enjoy the fish and chips @TalkToTheHand123 😊

triplecheeese · 19/08/2022 06:51

posted too soon... congrats on getting to the 14s!!!

TalkToTheHand123 · 19/08/2022 08:36

Aww thanks @triplecheeese , me too. 95kg weigh in this morning, so pleased.

A few power naps, gentle tummy and relaxation exercises seem to have helped me start losing again. 1/2 an hour on the mini exerciser last couple of evenings. More water content in the batches of soup and adding mushy peas seem to give the soup a nicer taste.

Hoping to pop into the gym on the way home and tomorrow too.

TalkToTheHand123 · 19/08/2022 17:41

No gym today as lots of walking today. Visit to Aquarium was nice and the fish and chips were too!

Just popped to my parents to pick up dd6 and a quick bite to eat. On the menu was fish and chips😯😂. Drinking lots of water now to flush me out.

BeyondMyWits · 20/08/2022 08:07

Thank you.... I thought I'd be motivated by the wearing a swimsuit in public thing too, but menopause has really meant that I could not give a damn about what other people think... quite liberating really.

Well done on the losses! Had a busy week here with Dh birthday and the (uni age) kids home, as well as work (pharmacy counter) being super busy! Food has been grabbed on the go, pizza won last night, but went with no extras, so not as bad as usual. Papa John's, so not as salty as most either.

Looking like a lovely day here, so off out to walk the dog in case it gets hot later...

TalkToTheHand123 · 20/08/2022 09:40

Aww love a pizza me, but tummy doesn't seem to and neither do the scales so may have a dabble making my own after I'm next at the shop.

Just made a subway, although I have a bit more to go to get anywhere near to standard!

triplecheeese · 20/08/2022 15:46

Sounds like a jolly aquarium @TalkToTheHand123 and luckily I love fish & chips, could definitely eat it twice!

@BeyondMyWits hope you enjoyed your dog walk, weather is lovely here in London.

I have a child free day! Scrubbed my manky house in the morning to an acceptable standard, then decided thats it for chores. Its a big strike day today but was determined to meet my friend for lunch anyway so had a 40 min walk each way to working transport, and I even gave myself a kick up the backside and went to the gym en route. Had a lovely lunch (fish, broccoli... and chocolate pudding) and now strolling home.

happy weekends all x

TalkToTheHand123 · 20/08/2022 22:03

Was good trip @triplecheeese but was shattered after! Certainly done plenty walking last couple of days.

Managed to get to the gym today which took some motivating as not on a natural route.

Made a big batch of soup tonight although I need to start making more next time as it's only lasting me three days.😳😊

Theredjellybean · 21/08/2022 10:21

Hi all
sorry i have been very quiet this week, i have not had a good week, not diet wise but personally and felt sad and just meh..very very unlike me i am usually very optomistic.
On good news though scales are saying 71.9 and that is despite chinese takeaway last night and big dinner with lots of alcohol sat night...
my prolapsed discs have decided to prolapse again...so pain is off the scale and i am restricted to very gentle phsyio stretches no weights, no exercises so that is a bugger..my rehab plan was to be running again by end of august but that is out the window
so all in all I am feeling somewhat low...
cheered by some great losses and positivity on this thread...:)

Theredjellybean · 21/08/2022 10:23

@endlesswashing woohoo..fab on goal reached
how much have you lost in total ?

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 21/08/2022 22:56

Sorry to hear you're a bit meh and in pain, @Theredjellybean (although good news from the scales!) - is there anything you can do about the prolapsed discs or is it just rest until you're recovered?

I had an X ray last week on my painful foot, no update yet from the GP - I'll have to chase them up midweek if I haven't heard by then, as we're going away next week and if I need a moonboot I'd rather have it by then! I've been utterly shattered this week - think I need a holiday to get over the weekend away with the DC! - back to taking my vitamins and pootling around quietly for a bit...

poorpaws · 22/08/2022 07:58

Hi everyone

These Monday weigh-ins come round so quickly. I'm struggling but am just managing to stay in the 10 stones zone. Despite a meal out last night I've managed to stay at 10st 13lbs but must try harder.

@Theredjellybean Flowers for you and I hope you can control the pain soon.

@TalkToTheHand123 I'll be joining you with the soup soon. Homemade parsnip soup is my lunch every day when it gets cooler. In summer it's a salad but the soup is so much cheaper. From September I'm going on an economy drive as I spend far too much on food (and everything else). I've had a bad few years of spending heavily (mainly to get the garden done which went over double the original budget (and then some).

I hope you are all well and keeping on track, I must say you seem to be. I look forward to reading your Monday weigh-in results.

TalkToTheHand123 · 22/08/2022 12:12

Plan was to not weigh for a while and have a big loss but weighed out of curiosity and 2lb gain. Bowl of leftover pasta from DD(6) didn't help nor the toffee pudding from my mam. Something I need to reflect on 😂

Afternoon nap yesterday meant I thought I could stay up later. So plan to give bedtime a bit of focus.

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 22/08/2022 13:40

@poorpaws I like a bowl of butternut squash soup (with feta and chilli oil - mmmm), will have to expand to parsnip soup too! DP likes onion soup but it's a bit of a PITA.

@TalkToTheHand123 I'm craving sticky toffee pudding now Blush

poorpaws · 22/08/2022 18:33

Oh goodness I love sticky toffee pudding, it's one of my favourites.

@ClaraTheImpossibleGirl I started making carrot soup years ago then I changed it to carrot and parsnip and for the last few years I've just made parsnip - cheap but tastes nice.

I might have said this before so I'm sorry if I'm repeating myself but I once saw a survey that said the least favourite soup in GB was parsnip. I've always liked it, not the most slimming as parsnips are sweet but I think that's the attraction for me.

Completely forgot to post my weigh in... one pound down... 15st 9.... wooooohoooo! 15st and SINGLE figures... finally it is on the move again.

Well done and/or commiserations to all. Not sure I'm going take another 2 pounds in a week and a bit though... might quietly ignore my mini target this month.
