What do you weigh and what dress size are you?

I know there’s lots of other factors but I’m
mainly asking because I’m trying to lose weight for my friends wedding and I’m just wondering what dress size I may be by then if I keep on track.
Also I’m just curious, it’s so interesting how everyone’s bodies can be so different!

I’ll go first! I’m 5ft 7 and I weigh 11.5stone I’m a size 14.
even at my thinnest (around 9.5-10st) I don’t seem to go lower than a size 12.

obviously size doesn’t actually matter, but I’m just interested!

5'7" and 13 stone bang on. Size 16. Age 45.

The last time I was under 11 stone I was travelling in Asia with a tummy bug and hadn't eaten properly for over 3 weeks. I genuinely don't think my adult body is supposed to be like that!

Am now training for a marathon so will see if I can get there again but in a healthier way.

NewNoomer · 03/06/2022 15:07

I’m 5’7” and weigh 14st. I’m a size 16 and hate it every single day!! I look horrific.

I was 9.5st just before getting pregnant and a size 8. I’ve started Noom. I’m hoping to change my mindset and get back to my original weight

Shedcity · 03/06/2022 15:52

Some people weigh less than I have done previously. But are a larger size than I was at that time.

And some people here are size 10-12 (my goal) at weights that I would (and have) look(ed) unwell at and could probably never ever get to now, though I do feel that the dress size is achievable.

i suppose what I’m taking from this is that it doesn’t matter whatever the scales say whilst I’m trying to lose weight or whatever my dress size. It looks like it would be difficult to guess for most of us and there’s not a set answer. Lots of us are similar sizes but there’s such a variation in weight here and we all carry it differently.

5ft 6, and currently 10 stone ten. My happy weight is about 10/3. I’m usually a 10 top, sometimes a 12 in bottoms. My waist is 29”, bust 32D, hips and arse absolutely gigantic.

I just wondered if those of you around the 10.5-11 stone mark at 5'.6" wear clothes that are quite snug or what?

I am 67 kilos (10.5 st) and anything smaller than a 16 it feels like I am poured into it and swaddled! The only exception is trousers, a 12 or 14 fit perfectly depending on the cut.

Maybe it is just me, but I dislike anything tight, I always feel that the fleshy bits are visible, you know around the bra back/belly area and so on. I am looking at walking/rain jackets online right now and am just bamboozled. Should I get a 16 or even an 18 for looseness and comfort. GAAAAH.

Honestly I am amazed at those of you at or above my weight who fit a 12/14. What am I doing wrong! Probably too conscious of clothes being snug on me I suppose. The "sit down test" usually makes me cringe even though the item fits so I go a size up. Maybe I need to work on my confidence or something.

In my case, it's weights. Ive always worked out with weights. I have a multi gym similar to a Pilates Reformer, I do HIIT, run occasionally and walk at least two miles a day in addition to normal activities.

The last time I had my body fat measured it was 24% & my lean muscle was in the exceptional category which isnt bad considering I'm over 50.

All that muscle weighs a lot so even though I'm heavy, a lot of it is muscle which is smaller tgan fat, hence smaller clothes.

Speaking of which, I like to wear mine fitted but possibly on the looser side on my top half due to broad shoulders, big bust etc. which needs roominess to not feel uncomfortable.

GettingStuffed · 15/06/2022 12:14

I'm 5' 7" and weigh around 16 stone. I usually wear a 16/18. I've always weighed heave for my size as I'm quite muscular

I'm 5' 5" and weigh 14st 10, I'm 69. I was a lot heavier and diabetic, but been on a low carb/low calorie diet and lost a stone in 3 weeks. I was a dress size 22 but now size 20. Hopefully I'll be around 12st/12st 7lb by the mid to end of the summer and back to a dress size 16. I'm comfy with around 12st.

I've noticed that women who look absolutely huge take smaller size dresses than me. It amazes me. I have a friend, bless her who looks ginormous, she admits herself she's huge. She weighs about 19st yet she takes a size 16. Thats over 4 stones heavier than me!!!!! I have no idea why she can get comfortably into a size 16, because I couldn't. I don't look my weight people are usually surprised if it crops up in conversation.

xxcatcatcatxx · 29/06/2022 14:40

5’6 and usually sit around the higher end of 8 stone. So 8 st 9-12lb and wear size 8.

Currently size 10/12 and 10 stone 3 at the mo though (4 months after giving birth and really cba to eat well or exercise) xxx

YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 29/06/2022 14:51

5’6”, 12st 4lbs. I have big boobs (38ff) so 16-18 top, 14-16 bottom.
@GrannySmith i completely agree! I don’t understand it either!

Trinity69 · 29/06/2022 15:08

5ft 7, 10 stone 8 ish, size 10, fully fledged member of the itty bitty titty committee.

Chazx · 29/06/2022 17:34

Im still 5ft 8, 😂 i've lost some more weight so I'm now 9 stone 13lbs.

still can't get size 12 trousers to comfortably fit or zip up at waist band.

My size 12 jeans can not yet be buttoned.

I can see ribs without stretching and bones poking out on shoulder blades.

i'm literally just "big boned" and boxy shaped. so unfair!!!

Chazx · 29/06/2022 17:42

Im not being rude but those over 10 stone 7 who are size 10, where do you carry your weight? Chunkier legs? More fat distribution to arms? I know it's a really stupid question as there are so many different shapes/sizes.

I'm 9 stone 13lbs , 5 ft 8 and have slim limbs but carry all weight below ribcage and at top of hips - Im also very short -torso/boxy shape.

Think I'd have to be seriously losing another stone to get into a 10, that'd make me 8 stone 13lbs which I've been before but was told by my sisters I looked ill - i liked that weight on me.

Zerofecksgiven · 29/06/2022 17:44

I've gained a bit of weight recently- need to get my ass back the gym.
5'8" and I'm usually around 9.7-10 stone but at the mo I'm 11st according to the scales but still a size 10 jeans...how does that work?? I don't look that much bigger either so not sure what's happening 😂

Zerofecksgiven · 29/06/2022 17:46

@Chazx my weight spreads really evenly so that could be why for me. Generally speaking tho I've got a bigger bum/smaller waist

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 29/06/2022 18:32

@Chazx i have a big bum and thighs, very pear shaped. Even when I was under eight stone and had very disordered eating I was still “hippy”!
