My story so far:
I started a thread “Lockdown stones to lose” in early June last year. I had nearly 3 stones to lose and was very determined. At times I did very well and at one point had lost over 1.5 stones.

Loads of people joined and then left and I think only four of us remained at the end. I kept plodding on. Just after Christmas I became ill for seven weeks (Covid related). I couldn’t do much or go out so my weight ballooned. I still kept plodding on. Then one of my dogs suffered an horrendous attack and whilst nursing her I just about lived on chocolate.

So here I am nearly 11 months later, most likely very nearly back to square one. I keep reminding myself that last time I said I would not give up no matter what! Will you join me tomorrow morning? I would love some company.

Well done @avalonn !!

I had bad headaches too when I first cut out sugar - I basically lived on the stuff I think, but they drastically improved after 10 days or so and now I’m 7 weeks in and have so much more energy and feel great, no longer bloated and sluggish - good motivation not to go back to my chocolate habit 😁

Thanks @ClinkeyMonkey to be honest I've been so good all week and stuck to 1200 calories per day plus walked the dog everyday.

I feel massively motivated now.

That is not enough or substsinable.its just going to lead you backwards.weight cycling and dieting or worse. This is not health your aiming for with so little nutrition

avalonn · 28/04/2022 15:18

@kateandme I would have preferred a 'well done' to be honest Confused

DaisyQuakeJohnson · 28/04/2022 15:33

Well done @avalonn
Try to ignore the unsupportive comment Flowers

avalonn · 28/04/2022 15:37

Thanks so much @DaisyQuakeJohnson

CanadianJohn · 28/04/2022 15:52

Congratulations, @avalonn, I hope the previous negative comment referred to your 7lb weightloss in a week, not to your 1200 daily calories.

Of course, 7lbs = about 24,500 calories, so unless you weighed 600+ lbs at the start, you won't manage that every week.

Even so, congratulations. I'm aiming for 1lb a week, but a "jump-start" would be really nice.

Eviebeans · 28/04/2022 15:55

We're all different and we're all learning as we go along about what works best for us. It would be great if we could all stick to the spirit of the title and provide encouragement to everyone who posts.

Mumstheword2022 · 28/04/2022 18:58

Blimey
You are all doing so good well!
It seems I have failed already 🙃

Weighed in when I got up early this morning and I have PUT ON 3lbs since Saturday! What?
i feel it too. Feel swollen and uncomfortable … trouser are tight too.

might be hormonal but I haven’t been this much for two years

I want to say it might be my additional BP medication but that is not a good excuse. Even if it is true it makes no difference as I have gone over into the next level and am now ’ 12 stone 2 1/2!

gutted

extrapineappleonmypizza · 28/04/2022 19:04

Good evening fellow slimmers!

I bought lunch today - haven’t done that for years! Aldi chicken sandwich 355 kcal (if I remember correctly), an apple and half a can of Diet Coke (so fizzy 🤯).

On my own tonight and no motivation to cook properly, even though we’ve got a final Gousto meal to use…
I don’t know what to do…

extrapineappleonmypizza · 28/04/2022 20:34

Ok - so, decided on… jacket potato, ham, cheese, salad, coleslaw, sweet chilli sauce, salad cream, salt and vinegar
Haven’t calculated calories

extrapineappleonmypizza · 28/04/2022 20:38

Also - there was a staff treat of Domino’s pizza at work today!🤦‍♀️ Had to literally just say, ‘No- I’m trying to lose weight for my holiday!’

chubbachub · 28/04/2022 21:08

Good evening all. The thread seems to be working fine on my phone now.

I'm still here and on track. Going to have a weigh in tomorrow. Seeing the scales down again will keep me motivated over the weekend.

Came in under calories today by about 200, and did two big walks today. On 11,580 steps so far. Sat on the couch watching football now so wont be many more steps tonight.

Is anyone else weighing tomorrow? My official day is Tuesday but I just want to check its still going the right way.

applesandpears33 · 28/04/2022 21:46

Did a bit better today. Two slices of toast, one bag of crisps, some easter egg, a bowl of tuna pasta and then a couple of slices of pizza for tea.

I really must do something about the lack of fruit and veg.

Theredjellybean · 28/04/2022 22:26

I'm down 2.2 kgs
But struggling with motivation
I can't run at the moment and none of my clothes fit round my menopause boobs
So feeling very sad

Thelongdarkteatime · 29/04/2022 06:17

I’m still here but struggling with the new format: im
not getting notifications for the thread.
I weighed in this morning and have lost another 1.5lbs which I’m thrilled about.
SW 12st 9.5lbs
CW 12st 5lbs
GW 9st 7lbs

Hope everyone is doing ok

TimeToLose8 · 29/04/2022 06:44

Good morning all, up 0.2lbs today, which isn't much, just going the wrong way.

I know why though, I am just not counting calories, which I know I really should to have any affect.

Still keeping active, which is good in many ways, except for the end of the day way, when all self restraint goes out of the window because I am so shattered.

Still, I'm getting into a routine, weighing then posting. Good luck for today everyone.

Bigbus · 29/04/2022 06:51

@Theredjellybean sorry you’re feeling sad. 2.2kg is great and I’m sure if you keep going you’ll soon for in your clothes. I have a lovely dress I bought when I was at my lowest and I can remember feeling so happy when I bought it. I’m about 3stone away from fitting in it now but I’ve kept it and I will get there!

Midnightstar76 · 29/04/2022 07:24

Morning,
Blue sky’s in my neck of the woods this morning and last work day before weekend. No rest for the wicked though as busy visiting sisters tomorrow then squeezing in a bit of overtime. Hopped on the scales and have reached 11.2 and a quarter. Chuffed with that. I weigh daily I just can’t help it but it also helps me see where I have gone wrong. Did my daily lunch walk but yesterday DH made tea and I just don’t like vegan chicken pieces much. We had them with black bean sauce rice and veg. I left over half as just could not stomach it and had some cereal instead. I like the chicken pieces with a Chinese curry sauce as it disguises the texture more. Anyway I am rambling have a good day all.

poorpaws · 29/04/2022 08:13

@avalonn you are amazing, very well done, what an inspiration.

I'm sad to say I'm not doing too well. I don't think I've said before but I suffer with ME (I try not to talk about it too much) and atm it's flared up a bit. I've been doing ok in the day but my evenings have been bad especially last night and that is when I eat.

There will be no loss for me this week and (hopefully) no gain so I'll count that as a win 🥴

Today I will do a shorter dog walk and probably rest later or watch DP plant the big wooden container he's just made for me.

Good luck everyone, I must say I'm impressed with you all. I just need to catch up (but I did say we'd lose weight slowly and keep on no matter what).

@poorpaws
Slow and steady, pacing yourself... A method for ME and weight loss. 😀
Is the problem eating in the evenings because you feel rubbish and it's comforting?
Is there something else you can do, a displacement activity?
I lost 4 stone about 11 yrs ago... By stopping the emotional eating, especially in the evening. When I would be reaching for the snacks I used to go and have a long bath and then go to bed and read a book.
This took me out of reach of the food, felt quite comforting like a nice treat and became a new habit. Is that something you can try?

Theredjellybean · 29/04/2022 08:28

Today's weigh in

SW:75.6 KG
CW: 73.2
GW: 66KG
Realistic goal :69 kg

Next mini goal: 71kg

Having surgery in four weeks so mini goal for that.
After surgery hoping to rehab and start running again... Sob... Was marathon level six months ago, that allowed for more food and alcohol and running is cheaper than therapy!
My biggest gripe is how menopause changed my shape... A Yr ago today I weighed 72.3 KG, so hardly any difference but all my clothes fitted, I could button up fitted tops and jackets that now won't go near going round my boobs.
Oh well onwards and downwards (of the scales)

poorpaws · 29/04/2022 08:51

@Theredjellybean thank you for your reply. Yes I emotionally eat in the evenings and yes I've done early bath, early bed. I've had this for 20 years (and had to leave work because of it). For the last 10 years I've managed it well but it does flare up when I cut down on food and move more (as my dr put it, you can't cheat ME, you must eat well and rest).

DP gets cross with me because I won't give in. I think the 20,000 steps we did on the moors triggered it, that's a ridiculous amount for an ME sufferer so now I have to pay. I want to go shopping with my daughter tomorrow so I have to prepare myself for that (and stop eating rubbish). I find a lovely evening dog walk usually does the trick (with eating rubbish I mean) but won't be well enough for that tonight. I love walking, ME won't let me.

Enough of me, you are all doing so well, big applause 👏 for everyone.

Good morning all, I managed to stick to the diet yesterday, had a herbal tea to stave off the cravings and lots of water!

todays plan:
breakfast: coffee, fruit and low fat Greek yoghurt
lunch: Turkey breast strips and salad
dinner: roasted salmon with spinach, green beans and tomatoes

Eviebeans · 29/04/2022 10:27

Morning. Have had porridge for breakfast. Am also going to be drinking lots of peppermint tea today - every time I feel hungry between meals... I can only try

TellMeAboutItStud · 29/04/2022 11:14

@Eviebeans peppermint tea works so well for me! I used to try green tea but somehow it didn’t work as well - must be the mint flavour!
