My story so far:
I started a thread “Lockdown stones to lose” in early June last year. I had nearly 3 stones to lose and was very determined. At times I did very well and at one point had lost over 1.5 stones.

Loads of people joined and then left and I think only four of us remained at the end. I kept plodding on. Just after Christmas I became ill for seven weeks (Covid related). I couldn’t do much or go out so my weight ballooned. I still kept plodding on. Then one of my dogs suffered an horrendous attack and whilst nursing her I just about lived on chocolate.

So here I am nearly 11 months later, most likely very nearly back to square one. I keep reminding myself that last time I said I would not give up no matter what! Will you join me tomorrow morning? I would love some company.

😀 @KokusnussFlips well done for owning up. I’ve just finished an Easter egg whilst reading this thread. Tomorrow is another day and the first proper day of the diet. I’ve bought loads of veg and salad tonight, just have to keep eating it 🙄😳

Welcome everyone since I last posted, we’ve got a lot in our gang now, all we have to do is try hard and we’ll succeed.

Hi @poorpaws , I’ve just eaten a creme egg and made plans to meet a friend for lunch tomorrow… so I’ll weigh in and start on Thursday
I’m a terrible yo-yo dieter , did really well on low carb Bootcamp one year and very badly ever since

poorpaws · 19/04/2022 21:17

@H1Drangea I too am a terrible yo-yo dieter. The different sizes of clothes in my wardrobe are embarrassing. Even last year I bought exactly the same jeans in a 16 then three pairs in a 14 and then a size 12. Goes without saying I bought the 12s, tried them on and within a couple of weeks they were too small (still have the tags on). But I still maintain I AM GOING TO DO THIS no matter how long it takes (I’ve been saying this for 11 months but I’m still here and I still mean it).

If we give up we will never do it so I’m hoping with everyone’s support and some determination I really will get this weight off.

TimeToLose8 · 19/04/2022 21:32

Can I join too? My name gives it away, but perhaps I need to lose more than that..

Just after Christmas I weighed myself and was the heaviest I have ever been. I lost a few pounds, but nothing serious

I just love to cook, bake, eat and of course drink wine. So I really should be looking for tasty low calorie satisfying recipes- if that isn't a contradiction in terms!

endlesswashing · 19/04/2022 21:35

I'm also guilty of eating a creme egg and having the last glass of the open wine since joining the thread Blush Tomorrow is a new start.

NatMoz · 19/04/2022 21:36

I should join. I gave birth 4 months ago and my last month of pregnancy I craved chocolate and have carried on ever since yikes!!

Trying to cut down chocolate but also eating between meals.

I'm fairly active, walking every day with the pram and in the last month I've started running again, slowly getting faster (track on Strava). I do find it a great motivator

extrapineappleonmypizza · 19/04/2022 21:36

I'd like to join, please.
I've gained two stone during Covid and I'm really struggling to reset and get back to normality. My mental health has suffered - I've been hiding myself away from the world, eating crap food and drinking too much. I don't understand why I can't snap out of it.
Anyway, I started my latest attempt on Saturday so I'm on day 4 today. I haven't weighed at the start and won't for a while because I don't want to know! I'm not calorie counting yet, either.
This week's plan is: no alcohol, no takeaway, up the fruit and veg, get up earlier at the weekend.
I'm an avid reader of the weight loss chat forum but don't post very often - give me a shout if you haven't heard from me because it probably means I've fallen off the wagon!

2020in2020 · 19/04/2022 21:41

I gained half a pound and was pleasantly surprised it was not more, it is reinforced my determination for sure! I have done a meal plan and food shop. Aiming for 2 and a half lbs next week!

ClaraTheImpossibleGirl · 19/04/2022 23:06

@poorpaws unfortunately your previous post reminded me that we still had an Easter egg in the fridge, so I had to polish that off before the diet starts Blush

Did I tell you that BIL & SIL have just got a new puppy? Ooooh he is so squishable, and cute, and generally adorable!! If only we lived a bit closer, I would claim aunty visiting rights and be round every day Grin

Ahem... on to the diet! I probably have around 3 stone to lose (once I finally brave the scales) but more than that, I want some energy back. DP is suffering with health-related conditions - mainly due to his eating & drinking habits and being very overweight - there needs to be someone in the house who has some 'joie de vivre'!

Eviebeans · 20/04/2022 06:41

Good morning. I'd like to join. I think I may have posted last time but life got in the way as it often does. Realised (as I'm now a few pounds heavier than before) that I just don't have the willpower atm to go it alone. So hopefully better luck this time. I'll be 60 in August and would like to weigh less by then than I do now.

Eviebeans · 20/04/2022 06:44

Oh forgot to say weighed myself this morning and am 11 stone 2 pounds . Would like to be 10 stones by August

DrRamsesEmerson · 20/04/2022 06:49

Can I join? Need to lose 10lb by the end of May - we’re away for our silver wedding and I really want to look good. Started yesterday, and I’ve actually been quite good about exercising since the start of the year; I just have no willpower when it comes to food and wine.

DrRamsesEmerson · 20/04/2022 06:49

Oh, and I’m 48 so it’s not as easy to lose it’s it used to be!

TellMeAboutItStud · 20/04/2022 06:51

I’d love to join please! I need to lose 3 stone of baby weight - baby is 10 months now and I feel like I no longer have an excuse… The weight did start to drop off after the birth but then I was diagnosed with PND and put on some heavy duty medication which made the weight pile back on.

I’ve been cutting out refined sugar and snacking for the past six weeks and lost six pounds so far - but my motivation is starting to wane and I need to add in some exercise I think.

Srtonger · 20/04/2022 06:56

Can I join please ?
I need to lose 3 stone. I also have a range of sizes in my wardrobe and have gained back 2 stone in the last couple of years .
have recently started HRT and have a medical condition where I need to follow a low histamine diet so I am very restricted with the food I can eat. This has fucked up my food relationship so have been eating a lot of the unhealthy stuff I can tolerate .
I just want to be back in most of the clothes in my wardrobe again and feel good about myself .

LostaraYil · 20/04/2022 07:09

I'd like to join, please. I have about a stone that I've been trying to lose on and off for what seems like forever. Low carb works great for me, but I keep falling off the wagon whenever life gets stressful.
I'm a fellow dog lover, have 3 of them on my lap now nagging for scratches. At least they force me to do plenty of walking and stop me sitting down for too long as the youngest is a pup and gets bored.

H1Drangea · 20/04/2022 07:32

I braved the scales this morning and while it’s bad , it could be a lot worse
11 st 12 , I’d love to lose a stone , even 13 lbs so I can be in the 10 stone range

I think my plan is to try and keep below 1200 calories for a week , ( if it’s doable ) cut out the white carbs and wine , wine in the evening is my downfall

We went alcohol free in February, but replaced it with cake and chocolate which worked well 😩

My lunch out is going to be brunch out as friend has an appointment at 1 , I’m thinking that’s one way of cutting calories , just miss one meal a day !

Srtonger · 20/04/2022 07:33

I also have 2 dogs but they are getting on a bit now and don’t need much exercise . I need to learn to walk for myself and not just dog walking .
I did C25K pre Covid and plan to start that again as I did enjoy running.
just need the motivation !

Fatasbuggery · 20/04/2022 08:06

Room for another ? I have started my own thread but need as much support as I can get.
I have weighed this morning and I could cry . I am 15:6 which is overwhelming but for now I am aiming at getting to 14 something.
I always say snacking is my downfall but actually it is snacking and crisps and bread and portion size . I am reading a book called Why we eat (too much) and have a tesco order coming at lunchtime and will do some batch cooking (have also bought the meal prep king)
I am a suckered for a book 😀

poorpaws · 20/04/2022 08:51

… and here we go.

Good morning everyone.

stats this morning

SW: 11st 3lbs
GW: 10 sts

Its not quite as bad as I thought but bad enough as I’ve gained half a stone in a very short time.
I hope everyone has a good start and I’ll post later on when I have more time

@Eviebeans I remember you, good to have you back.

So many doggy people in here too, I love it.

Weigh2go · 20/04/2022 08:58

Can I join please? Just weighed myself this morning and I’m 16 stone 4lbs. Desperate to lose 6 stone at least.

SpreadHummusNotHate · 20/04/2022 09:55

Weighed this morning
SW: 12st1
GW: 11st

Not doing anything extreme because I know I won’t stick to it but just cutting out all the crap biscuits and sweets, cut out the coffee, more fruit veg and water. Beautiful morning today so walked a bit further than usual on my morning dog walk ❤️

good luck everyone

Readytostartagain · 20/04/2022 10:20

Can I join please? Weighed this morning
SW: 10 11
GW: 8 7 (though not sure I have been this since I was 10). Need to lose 19lb to be a healthy weight so will see after that.

Another one not doing anything extreme because I know I won’t stick to it but cutting out snacking to start with as I know that is a big part of it for me. Lovely morning so feeling jealous of all the dogs- would love one but need to retire first.

Madickenxx · 20/04/2022 10:23

Ooooh I'd like to join. I might not post a lot but it will be good to have somewhere to moan about the fact that my DP is losing a steady lb a week on 2500 calories a day!! I'm putting on weight if I eat more than 1500 or so. So unfair (he is super tall so that works in his favour).

I lost a stone last year but have been faffing about so far this year and need to get going. Overall I have around 4 stone to lose (so 3 to go) and that will still leave me overweight but should be a comfortable size 14 as opposed to my current size 18.

I'm using NutraCheck and it works well for me as long as I use it lol. I ate the last of my easter eggs last night and am on antibiotics so can't drink alcohol. No reason not to do well this week therefore but we'll see!

I'm 47, recently engaged and would like to lose the weight before the wedding and my 50th whichever comes first (wedding probably although nothing booked yet). That should be doable, right? I'm my worst enemy, however, and can do really well all day and then fall head-first into a bowl of crisps / popcorn in front of the TV at night. Can't not have it at home either as DC and DP love it but are able to eat in moderation. Moi, not so much. I've taken up knitting to keep my hands busy but while I love it it's not really helped much.

SW 15st 3lbs (ish)
GW 12 st

Playhousearmy · 20/04/2022 10:35

Hello, I have found my people!

I’m 3 stone overweight, have a lovely fluffy golden retriever and have a range of sizes in my wardrobe!

so my plan is calorie counting. Achieving a deficit by using 16:8. I’m only 5’2 so have very little wriggle room with calories.

My worst habit is I am a daily weigher. My husband was very into his fitness a few years back and has a scale which measures weight, body fat, muscle mass and more - it scares me a bit! I generally stick to my one I just stand on and it weighs me and that’s it!

Also I have an event in 5 weeks (my daughters first communion) and we’re going to Center Parks so I want to have lost a bit for that.

SW: 11stone 13
GW: 11 stone 7
(I’m breaking my goal weight up into sections, long term it’s 9 stone)

oh and also I’m working my way through all the Dr. Rangan Chatterhee books instead of just reading them and then not doing anything from them. Starting with the 4 pillar plan.
