Looking for a weekly weigh-in buddy who is looking to lose 2-2.5 stone

Hi everyone. Finally faced the dreaded scales today and it has really shaken me. I am 11 stone and pre covid (and pre relationship breakdown) was 8.9 stone. I'm 5 ft 2 so the extra weight is really noticable and I feel so miserable and embarrassed I don't like leaving the house. I'm really struggling with motivation and think I need a buddy looking to lose a similar amount who will do a weekly weigh in with me and we can support each other to keep going. I'm aiming to do a slow weight loss of a pound a week in the hope this will be easier and I'll actually stick with it! Am going to do what has worked for me in the past: the 16:8, cutting out starchy carbs and limiting sugar to fruit and dark chocolate. Is there anyone out there who would like to be my weigh-in buddy?!

Well done @jynnerso . @Shedcity I stayed at the same weight last week, and this week I've put on a pound. Am feeling very low in general about my weight loss journey (or lack of it!) and am swinging between giving myself a stern talking to and feeling like I should just give up for now as I can't stay motivated. I am so pleased for everyone doing well, and annoyed with myself that I can't do the same.

Maintenance is good considering the course @cardboardbox24 and a 1lb gain could be anything from drinking water, bloating in your cycle or anything else. stick with it, it’s only been a couple of off weeks (and one of them was actually neutral!) you’ll get there, it’s just a slow process.

Showercurtainofdoom · 02/06/2022 19:56

Shed's right, cardboardbox24. 1lb on can be down to anything. Please keep trying and posting. I've also gained a 1lb this week, am reminding myself that it slow and steady is OK because I want long term change not just a quick lose/regain cycle like before. And I want to enjoy life as well, not just be miserable and think about counting calories all the time. We can do this!

Current weight - 162lbs (11 st 8)
Goal - 154lbs (11 st)

Sorry I totally forgot to weigh this morning- I'll do it tomorrow!
Well done to everyone... weight loss is HARD! There's always going to be ups and downs, hope no one is too disheartened x

cardboardbox24 · 02/06/2022 22:03

Thanks everyone, you're right of course! Drawing a line under this week and starting afresh from tomorrow.

1.75loss for me... down to 10st 13.5... only a half stone to go!

Fashiontatts · 03/06/2022 09:10

@cardboardbox24 fresh start is the best way ! It's the long game that's important x

cardboardbox24 · 03/06/2022 09:18

@Fashiontatts you're an inspiration! Well done!

Thanks @cardboardbox24 , def slower this week but getting there...! I had a busier week and my DH was off work so not quite so planned with things as usual!

Shedcity · 03/06/2022 11:16

Amazing @Fashiontatts thats my current goal, just to hit that 10 stone bracket. Huge milestone for you. Well done!

Fashiontatts · 03/06/2022 11:25

Thanks @Shedcity - that was my goal too ! Just to get into that 10stone range.... by the skin of my teeth right enough haha! Just hard trying to stay consistent tho isn't it? Especially when everyone else in the household can eat whatever they like and stay thin!

jynnerso · 09/06/2022 09:55

Well it's been a funny old week here for me.

I was doing really well until yesterday when I fell off the wagon a wee bit.
Anyway, am practically the same at 11st 0.75, so have lost a quarter of a pound which is basically staying the same.

Does anyone else feel they stall a bit around the mid month part of their menstrual cycle? I'm pretty sure I usually go up a couple of pounds at that point in the month.

Am really looking forward to breaking the 11st barrier.

Hoping everyone has had a good week.

Fashiontatts · 09/06/2022 10:02

10st12 this morning - 1.5lbs loss

Fashiontatts · 09/06/2022 10:03

@jynnerso totally agree! Hormones are a b*tch!! I stopped breastfeeding this week and my hormones have been going crazy, so I absolutely feel your pain. Probably also means I won't be losing as much as not burning those calories but needs must 🤣

Hope everyone has had a good week!!
I'm off to the dentist for root canal today, boo hoo x

Fashiontatts · 09/06/2022 10:04

@jynnerso well done - a loss is still a loss! Even 0.25lb.., all going in the right direction 🙂

jynnerso · 09/06/2022 10:32

Thanks @Fashiontatts, this is true.
I've got to keep going anyway, hard as it is.

Well done on your 1.5lbs and that must have been hard combined with stopping breastfeeding. Really good going!
Good luck for your root canal too, it'll feel much better once it's done.

Fashiontatts · 09/06/2022 10:51

@jynnerso yup, that's it... just need to keep on trying each week! 🙂 consistency is key, as they say!

Thanks, it's been put off for the last 2 years due to covid, then pregnancy - so I'm glad to hopefully be getting it sorted!!

Shedcity · 09/06/2022 13:23

1lb off this week. Feel like I’m back on track with exercising too so feeling positive even though I’m sooooooo far from my goal.

and yes, some women gain as much as 3lbs - it’s just water weight, and drops off when your period starts usually. So to maintain (or even lose a bit) is really good!

well done everyone that lost as well, and good luck on the root canal!!

cardboardbox24 · 09/06/2022 17:24

1lb off here- this must be the slowest weight loss journey in the world! Well done everyone, slow and steady wins the race.

Thanks @Shedcity but half hour before the appt (and just as I was about to leave the house!) they phoned to cancel as their X-ray machine had broken! Oh well...

Well done to you both @Shedcity @cardboardbox24 !

jynnerso · 09/06/2022 19:15

Well done to you both @Shedcity, brilliant that you're feeling inspired to exercise - that's a v hard state of mind for me to get into!

Really well done to you too @cardboardbox24 you got back on that wagon and that's the hardest flipping thing to do!

Shedcity · 09/06/2022 22:05

@cardboardbox24 i think it always is! And that’s why it’s so hard to stick to!! Well done on your loss x

Showercurtainofdoom · 10/06/2022 07:52

Maintained this week. 162lbs. Well done everyone!

Fashiontatts · 16/06/2022 06:05

Morning all!
Kids up at 5:30am here so a super early weigh in for me haha
Now weighing 10st 10.75lbs, so 1.25lbs off. Not going to lie it's been TOUGH going this week... but trying to keep it up as the last few days I've defo lost motivation for it.

Hope everyone has had a good week and looking for way to the results 🙂
