Looking for a weekly weigh-in buddy who is looking to lose 2-2.5 stone

Hi everyone. Finally faced the dreaded scales today and it has really shaken me. I am 11 stone and pre covid (and pre relationship breakdown) was 8.9 stone. I'm 5 ft 2 so the extra weight is really noticable and I feel so miserable and embarrassed I don't like leaving the house. I'm really struggling with motivation and think I need a buddy looking to lose a similar amount who will do a weekly weigh in with me and we can support each other to keep going. I'm aiming to do a slow weight loss of a pound a week in the hope this will be easier and I'll actually stick with it! Am going to do what has worked for me in the past: the 16:8, cutting out starchy carbs and limiting sugar to fruit and dark chocolate. Is there anyone out there who would like to be my weigh-in buddy?!

@Fashiontatts I'm going to be brave and peek through my fingers! Ha ha.

Shedcity · 12/05/2022 22:01

Good luck @jynnerso ! Whatever they say doesn’t matter, it sounds like it’s been tough and it’s totally understandable you are where you are. But tomorrows a new day and a fresh start.

cardboardbox24 · 12/05/2022 23:47

Massive WELL DONE to everyone who has lost weight this week! Amazing. I've had a shocker of a week looking after my poorly son and although I haven't lost any weight I haven't gained any either- still on 10 stone 12. He's now much better so back to focusing on healthy eating and squeezing in a few exercise classes. Really well done everyone.

I braved the morning weight in.
Starting weight: 11 stone 4
Target of around: 9.5 stone
Am only 5 feet 1 so am far too heavy!

Have no idea of a plan yet.
Initially thinking of intermittent fast 16:8 and cutting out starchy carbs but I know the carbs part is really hard for me to keep going with.
I don't know if anyone else finds this but sometimes I end up with a worst of all worlds eating plan - going low carb so eating high fat but then slipping up, eating carbs so that means I'm essentially doing high fat and carbs. Aargh!

jynnerso · 19/05/2022 07:58

1st weigh in for me.

SW 11.4
CW 11.2
2 llbs off! V chuffed.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

cardboardbox24 · 19/05/2022 08:22

@jynnerso massive well done!

I'm also feeling good this week as after a couple of rubbish weeks of no weight loss I've lost 3lb this week! So start weight was 11 stone, current weight 10 stone 9 pounds.

@cardboardbox24 that's brilliant, well done!
It must be a relief to break the stall. Well done for pushing through.

I've always found that bit tricky in the past.

Fashiontatts · 19/05/2022 09:32

Start Weight - 12st 2
Goal Weight - 10st 7
Current Weight - 11st 3.75
Loss this week - 3.25lbs
Total loss - 12.25lbs

Happy with that! Tried to incorporate a few walks and a strength training exercise in this week so obviously helped!

Fashiontatts · 19/05/2022 09:33

Well done @jynnerso @cardboardbox24 !!

cardboardbox24 · 19/05/2022 11:29

@Fashiontatts you're doing amazingly! You have incredible willpower.
@jynnerso yes after the last weigh in I was tempted to give up, really glad I didn't now

jynnerso · 19/05/2022 12:11

@Fashiontatts that's fantastic! You're over half way to your goal now then.

@cardboardbox24 I'm chuffed for you and will also bear it mind when I reach an inevitable stall too.

Fashiontatts · 19/05/2022 12:21

Thanks, yeah I do have good willpower when I (eventually) get in the mood to do it 🤣 seeing the number move really motivates me too. Yup, over halfway. Another 8lbs to pre baby weight but ideally another 11lbs to where I want to be x

Shedcity · 19/05/2022 12:43

Well done everyone! Very proud of you all!
I’ve had an absolute shitter of a week and I hope you don’t mind If I don’t weigh myself this week. This thread is stopping me from just sulking until Monday ‘because it’s the weekend anyway now I may as well just carry on’ because I want to be able to report back on Thursday knowing I tried my best! So I’m feeling positive to start on healthy eating and exercise again today, but I don’t want to crush myself if I see a big weight gain after this week. Especially whilst I’m still a bit exhausted from my terrible week, ….and a bit hormonal…

I may even weigh myself tomorrow but I think I need to at least get started on the more positive front before I take the hit!

I’m still at the same weight as I was 2 weeks ago. However - I went up in the middle and I’m back down again now.

I’m also sticking with c25k and have declined the birthday treats in the office today!

Showercurtainofdoom · 20/05/2022 14:13

Current weight 168 lbs
Goal 154 lbs

Went up 2lbs. Back at it today.

1200 cals per day; 10,000 steps; short bursts of exercise when I get an urge to build.

My new plan is a little treat for every 2lb off. Working up to a hotel stay at a fancy hotel if I reach my goal.

Well done everyone. Shedcity, we'll get it next week.

2 lbs off this week. Better food choices and keeping moving this week so good to see the result. Positive vibes all.

Fashiontatts · 26/05/2022 07:23

Well done @petalsandstars !

jynnerso · 26/05/2022 08:53

Well done everyone who's done well this week.

I've had a shocker of a week; lots of things gone wrong (DS bullied at school, husbands health, my health, dogs health) , and been eating to survive, not taking any care etc.

Consequently have put the 2lbs back on that I lost in my first week.
Time to regain control and get back on the saddle! Aargh!

petalsandstars · 26/05/2022 09:27

New week - it’s so tempting jynnerso to spiral down - I’m guilty of this too.

I realised that I keep putting myself last so am trying to keep good food choices at the front of my mind to keep my health.

Showercurtainofdoom · 26/05/2022 10:17

Start Weight - 176lbs

Have had a horrendous viral thing this week and have been unable to eat!

Well done petal & fashion.

Sorry to hear about your rotten week jynnerso, hope this week is much better.

Shedcity · 26/05/2022 12:25

Well done everyone
I’m back on the wagon this week with a 2lb loss
hope I can keep to it!

cardboardbox24 · 26/05/2022 14:43

Well done everyone. I'm not able to weigh myself until tomorrow morning but I am currently on a course with free food so I'm slightly worried! Have so far avoided the biscuits and dessert
