Looking for a weekly weigh-in buddy who is looking to lose 2-2.5 stone

cardboardbox24 · 14/04/2022 12:55

Hi everyone. Finally faced the dreaded scales today and it has really shaken me. I am 11 stone and pre covid (and pre relationship breakdown) was 8.9 stone. I'm 5 ft 2 so the extra weight is really noticable and I feel so miserable and embarrassed I don't like leaving the house. I'm really struggling with motivation and think I need a buddy looking to lose a similar amount who will do a weekly weigh in with me and we can support each other to keep going. I'm aiming to do a slow weight loss of a pound a week in the hope this will be easier and I'll actually stick with it! Am going to do what has worked for me in the past: the 16:8, cutting out starchy carbs and limiting sugar to fruit and dark chocolate. Is there anyone out there who would like to be my weigh-in buddy?!

@milkfromthesleepycow @petalsandstars welcome both! Make sure you do a weigh in today if you haven't done one recently as weekly weigh in days will be every Thursday
@TynTynTyn I'm defo not doing a spreadsheet Grin

Popping in to say I weighted this morning and was 11st 8lb

Liblobs · 15/04/2022 21:46

Hello! Can I join too please? I started yesterday, weighed in at 12st4lb and would like to lose 2 stone. I'm 5'4.
I'm counting everything I eat on MFP until I get into my groove!

SpringLobelia · 16/04/2022 06:39

My 'plan' such as it is is to have calorie free drinks (so tea and water mainly) and to try and replace rubbish on my plate with vegetables and fruits. I have gotten out of the habit of eating well. I realised recently that when i included the lettuce in my Big Mac as one a day that I had gone slightly off course. Grin

Fashiontatts · 16/04/2022 08:35

Hahaha! I def count Big Mac lettuce as one of your five a day!

I’ve unfortunately gotten Covid (after avoiding it for the last 2 years!) but the only bonus is I’ve now got zero appetite so perhaps I’ll get a loss this week after all Grin

TynTynTyn · 16/04/2022 11:02

Don't forget the pickles in the Big Mac, and add that to the lettuce and you've got two of your five a day.

shalalala · 16/04/2022 11:04

Can I join? Back from hols on Monday

EngelbertHumperdinck · 16/04/2022 21:11

Can I join too please? A once a week weigh in is about the commitment level I can manage at the moment. 198.6lb this morning. First goal is 190.

Iamsodonewith2020 · 19/04/2022 09:07

Oh dear. Forgot about this thread! My starting weight last Thursday will be 11 stone 🙈

cardboardbox24 · 21/04/2022 07:55

It's our first weigh in day! @Cornishmumofone @EngelbertHumperdinck @Fashiontatts @FelicityGreen @Iamsodonewith2020 @Jonesy88 @Liblobs @Readytostartagain @Showercurtainofdoom @SpringLobelia @TynTynTyn @WigglesWaggles @golddustwomen @milkfromthesleepycow @newbiename @oliviastwisted @petalsandstars @shalalala

Original weight: 11 stone 0.5 pounds
Ideal weight: 9 stone
This week's weight loss: 2.5 pounds
Total weight loss: 2.5 pounds

Am feeling really happy with my weight loss as I'm only aiming for 1lb a week! Plus I've been poorly so not doing any exercise. I've stuck religiously to the 16:8, reduced carbs by about 40% and stuck to dark chocolate for treats (apart from my Easter egg!). How have you all faired? Post your results here!

Readytostartagain · 21/04/2022 08:11

That’s great @cardboardbox24 well done that’s a great weight loss. 1lb on for me- Easter was a bit of a disaster but back on it now.

Fashiontatts · 21/04/2022 08:22

Well done @cardboardbox24 !
I started 12stone 2lbs and today I'm 12stone exactly so 2lbs off.,. Altho, it was absolutely due to getting covid and having zero appetite, or smell/taste! Just need to make a concerted effort this week to keep it up x

Showercurtainofdoom · 21/04/2022 09:26

Well done cardboardbox24 and Fashiontatts!

I'm in the same boat as Readytostartagain, 2lb on. But am ready to start again 😀

Green smoothies, veg soup, natural yogurt and proper dinner.

Current weight 176 lbs

Fashiontatts · 21/04/2022 09:39

I think Easter is such a hard time to start... the problem I now have is a house full of uneaten Easter chocolate (and a lucky DH who can eat whatever he likes and stay slim 🙄)
I'm going to try having a 99cal hot chocolate instead of a cup of tea and bar of chocolate in the evenings as that's def my downfall!

youaremysunshine2623 · 21/04/2022 09:51

Can I join? I’ve tried noom, WW, Sw - maybe Mumsnet is the answer! Easter has been disastrous food wise for me.
5 ft 8
14 stone 6 lbs.

youaremysunshine2623 · 21/04/2022 09:52

Forgot to say - 2 stone off is my goal.

FelicityGreen · 21/04/2022 12:34

SW 11 st 5 lbs
GW 9 st 0 lbs
CW 11 st 3 lbs

Thanks @cardboardbox24 , I’ve lost 2 lbs, long way to go but it’s a start.

petalsandstars · 21/04/2022 13:04

SW 13st 12
CW 13st 11

1lb off this week - with some Easter chocolate so I’m happy with that as a start. Just got to stick to it!!

greentrees9 · 21/04/2022 13:51

Hi everyone, please could I join as well. I’m only 5’3 and weigh 82kg ( I can’t bear to change it to stones and lbs 😓😓😓) - I would also like to lose 20 kg. Was exercising regularly but have got gastroflu so feel horrible! Will measure and weigh myself next Thursday properly! I’m trying not to snack (going ok) and reduce starchy carbs (not going so well!)! Good luck everyone, we will do it!

milkfromthesleepycow · 21/04/2022 16:56

77.8kg today, so 1lb off. I'll take that as a win after Easter weekend!
Well done everyone

milkfromthesleepycow · 21/04/2022 16:58

Sorry meant CW 171lbs! I use either metric or imperial depending on what makes me feel better!

cardboardbox24 · 21/04/2022 18:02

Well done @milkfromthesleepycow @FelicityGreen @Fashiontatts @petalsandstars !!! That's great work, especially with Easter chocolate making it tricky. @Readytostartagain @Showercurtainofdoom don't worry, the new week starts again from today so put last week behind you and just focus on the next 7 days. We've got this.

OP posts:
Shedcity · 21/04/2022 21:46

Oh am I too late to join? I really really need some accountability. I’ve lost 1st so far but then nothing now for 3 weeks.
I’m sorry if I’m crashing,
but I’m 11st 7 (as of this mornings weigh in) and I’m 5ft 8 trying to lose another 2 stone.

well done everyone one on this week

youaremysunshine2623 · 22/04/2022 09:34

I logged in with a start weight of 14 stone 6 but double checked today as I thought it a bit out and I’m 14 stone 9. Only reposting so I have an accurate baseline.

DollyPartBaked · 22/04/2022 09:45

Can I join you? I should weigh around 9/9.5 (or I did pre lock down) but now weigh 11 something - haven't weighed myself in a while as just been letting it slide on and on.

I've done ww before but will look into 16.8 as I don't know what this is. My issue is carby dinners and chocolate / snacks / wine in front of the telly!
