Hi all here is the new thread. Excuse the rubbish title.

Weighed in at 9st1.75 this morning, so same as the start of last month. Would be delighted to get a couple of pounds off this month.

I fell off the March thread, life got busy and food wasn’t the best!
Back on the wagon from today! DH and I joined a gym yesterday so I will be aiming to go at least twice a week which I think will help motivate me to eat better!
Hope everyone is doing ok and thank you for the new thread @Octopus37 Smile

NutellaEllaElla · 01/04/2022 09:13

Hello and thank you for the new thread. I'm 9st10 this morning which is roughly where I was end of Jan. 3lbs off my maintenance goal.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 01/04/2022 15:12

Hello all and thanks for the new thread. 10/7 here today, what a shock. Why was I not one of the "I got Covid and lost a stone in three days" people? I finish for Easter today so expect the next couple of weeks to have quite a bit of eating out.

QueenMabby · 01/04/2022 18:12

Well I'm in the on-my-period-and-can't-stop-eating phase so will try again tomorrow!

QueenMabby · 01/04/2022 18:12

Thanks for the new thread @Octopus37 btw.

swallowedAfly · 01/04/2022 20:38

Thanks Octopus for the thread.

Haven't weighed but even if I've put a bit back on March was actually a success for me on the weight front thankfully. People have started commenting again on me having lost a lot of weight so I think it's hit another tipping point where my appearance has changed itms.

Off on holiday on Monday - no idea what effect that will have - will be more active but possibly foody and definitely boozy so we shall see. Will try to manage some fast days and make sure I swim rather than just wallow lol.

Goal for April would ideally be to lose more but actually having had a whoosh in March and April including a two week holiday even just consolidating that whoosh so it sticks would be good.

LOTS to do this weekend so that should keep the steps up.

Octopus37 · 02/04/2022 09:00

@Judystilldreamsofhorses hope you feel better.

@swallowedAfly you must be so excited.

Cannot believe how cold it is here, full of a cold as well so planning on having quite a lazy day. Had some friends over yesterday and we went for a curry, didn't go mad though and had no alcohol. Also the lady who came has successfully lost loads of weight on Slimming World a few years ago (looks fantastic) and declined cake. I ate a very small slice which probably did me a favour.

Hope everyone has a good day

Well I was a dirty stop in last night and sat binge-watching Bridgerton with a friend til 2am! Feeling it today though - can't do late nights any more.

Trying to get through it by drinking lots of water and wearing a pair of my snugger jeans to try and steer me away from the biscuit tin.

Am also out for a curry tonight @Octopus37 - going for a veg based one and no naan to keep it healthier.

LBB2020 · 02/04/2022 18:34

We went to the pub for dinner last night so not the best as I had dessert and wine!
Hoping once I get started at the gym I will also start making healthier food choices so as not to ruin my hard work at the gym!

Octopus37 · 03/04/2022 10:16

@QueenMabby bet it was fun though.

Had quite a lazy day yesterday as I'm full of a cold, ate far too much left over cake, I know they say "starve a fever, feed a cold", but think I took it too extremes. Nevermind, up to 9st3.5 this morning but aiming to be a bit more active and to drink lots of water today. Still feel rough so will see how I go.

swallowedAfly · 03/04/2022 11:08

Scales said 11:8 this morning and I don't really know why I'd have gained but I'm close to period due time and not reacting really. Will see where I'm at after holiday and take it from there I think.

Octopus I get the same way with a cold - could just eat and eat. I am both excited and a bit unnerved that I'm still not ready and still can't get myself moving and cracking on properly Hmm I am a compulsive procrastinator and need it to be very last minute before I feel a real sense of urgency but we're leaving at about 4.30am tomorrow and there is loads to do and I'm going to my parents to eat this afternoon so I really should be able to motivate myself at this point!

Octopus37 · 04/04/2022 09:51

Didn't weigh in today, ate a bit better yesterday but next to no steps as feel so yuk. Period also started.

Happy holiday @swallowedAflywed

QueenMabby · 04/04/2022 16:13

Ooo yes - wishing you warm weather and lush cocktails @swallowedAfly!

After a very lethargic day yesterday I have been to the gym and on a walk today. Food choices pretty good so far.

QueenMabby · 04/04/2022 20:02

Just under 1600 calories today. This included a cheeky glass of wine. Very scandalous for a Monday night but it was in the fridge all weekend and we didn't open it so it seemed rude to leave it there any longer!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 04/04/2022 23:42

Still 10/7 here. I am eating everything in sight because I can’t taste, and no exercise.

Octopus37 · 05/04/2022 07:51

9st1.5 this morning, quite pleased. Have eaten a bit less the last couple of days but not enough exercise cause I've felt so rough.

OP posts:
Octopus37 · 06/04/2022 08:14

Still full of my lurgy unfortunately. No weigh in today. Just about managing to do my work.

OP posts:
QueenMabby · 06/04/2022 11:00

@Octopus37 sorry you're poorly - hope you get a chance to rest up today.

Wednesday weigh in for me today at 9st 8.2lb so 1.6lb lower than last week! Most of that will be due to the fact that my period has finished but I'll take it!

No calorie counting today as it's DS's 16th birthday and I've already had a massive fry up and some chocolate!

LBB2020 · 06/04/2022 23:17

I’ve not been brilliant with making healthy choices so far this week Blush I’ve also caught some virus and have felt pretty rotten on top of a busy week at work! I have some time off over the next couple of weeks so hopefully I can focus a bit more and get started at the gym!

Octopus37 · 07/04/2022 08:10

Sorry to hear you're poorly @LBB2020, hope you get a chance to rest. Also not a time to be thinking about healthy eating.

Thanks @QueenMabby have been trying to rest in between doing my work. Think I'm on the mend now. My Dad is probably coming down tomorrow for a few weeks, so need to be firing on all cylinders.

OP posts:
QueenMabby · 07/04/2022 08:11

Unmumsnetty hugs @LBB2020. Hope you feel better soon.

We went to a restaurant last night and as per the new rules it had all the calories for the dishes printed on the menu. Bloody hell they were high! It was interesting. It did make me made different choices. I went for a seafood starter as it was lighter (one starter was over 700 calories!) and chose veg instead of chips with my steak. Meal was still nearly 1500 cal though! My son's massive burger and chips was over 1400 by itself!!

Starting afresh today needless to say.

LBB2020 · 07/04/2022 08:56

Thank you @Octopus37 and @QueenMabby. I hope you’re feeling better too @Octopus37, there has been so much going around hasn’t there!

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 07/04/2022 11:45

I am still Covid positive almost three weeks in 😷

QueenMabby · 08/04/2022 07:16

Wow @Judystilldreamsofhorses - that's impressive! 🤣 How are you feeling in yourself? Not too poorly I hope?

A couple of heavy days here food-wise - but should be a bit lighter today.

I start a new job on Monday after a very long time as a SAHM so will need to be disciplined on food as I won't be on my feet as much. Job is only part time so I can hopefully make up my activity on my off days.

Octopus37 · 08/04/2022 08:25

@Judystilldreamsofhorses you poor thing, how are you feeling in yourself?

@QueenMabby congratulations on your new job, very exciting.

I'm on the mend, not 100% but much much better. Had to put off my Dad coming down cause DS2 has now got a cold, but dont think he feels too bad with it and he stays out of my Dad's way anyway, so think we can probably reschedule for Sunday.

How are you feeling @LBB2020?
