Hard to believe itโ€™s April already ๐Ÿ˜ฎ. Fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (Weigh On Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day.

oh my from 12 noon till 7 pm just absolutely the worst of the worst food choices....dh having endured low carb went shopping on his own (i'm positive right) and came home with all the stuff i have NO WILLPOWER to refuse :(.
it's done and i feel so uncomfortable...
fingers crossed i can do better tomorrow!

Try not to worry about what you say on this thread @SunshineCake1. Sounds like you had a tough time on another thread you started? I havenโ€™t seen that thread, but you are amongst friends here. Weโ€™re all behind you ๐Ÿค—

I finally braved the scales this morning and Iโ€™ve gained almost 2 lbs this month. I wish it were all muscle, but according to my scales my fat percentage has gone up by a whole percent and my muscle mass has gone down by almost the same amount. I canโ€™t quite get my head around that, so think Iโ€™ll just take the โ€œsticking my head in the sandโ€ approach and ignore it all for now ๐Ÿ˜‚

I wonโ€™t be having my Easter dinner until tomorrow so today will be another chance to try and be sensible! Iโ€™ve gone for a Middle Eastern theme for my Easter meal, so lots of healthy veggies. Itโ€™s not too bad if we ignore the massive chocolate cake I madeโ€ฆ

Afternoon all. Just driven down to auntโ€™s by seaside for short break and doing interview with her permission at her house on Tuesday morning.

This morning had bagel with red onion etc (new New York bagel one) with half marmite, half butter.

Yesterday was at DMโ€™s for friends and family lunch. Had quiche Lorraine almost half one, portion potato salad with dressing and salad with avocado, melon, cucumber etc, plus apple pie and ice cream. So far no runs for past few days but walks. Dinner yday was half fresh veggie pizza from Sainsburyโ€™s with half Waitrose yogurt dressing potato salad and remainder of salad (was at DMs). Also scoffed half smarties Easter egg, and the smarties, and had 4 crackawheat, laughing cow light triangle, baby bel cheese and 1 cheese string. Oh and 1 x vanilla cupcake with icing and decorated with sugar flowers (co op cupcakes mix).

I need to get back on diet and exercise. My main downfall is seeing stuff I like in supermarket, buy then eat it! I can give to people when they drop by though!

Think Iโ€™m probably over 11 stone now Shock.

@SunshineCake1 - so sorry re your DD. It must be almost like a bereavement for you. Stay strong, we are all thinking of you. Flowers The only thing I can suggest is what my DM did when DB ran away from his asthma boarding school - he thought heโ€™d been abandoned which wasnโ€™t true. Just be there and have hope she will return. I know itโ€™s hard. DM had kittens as when he returned he immediately moved into a shared house with friends/workmates to do with his job (in a guitar workshop) but he was either 15/16 then. I canโ€™t even recall what the police said. She did have dialogue with him though.

@SunshineCake1 I saw it had gone. There are some ghastly people around. You probably don't want to but if you posted in Mental Health you'd probably get less traffic but more helpful replies. As @Crazzzycat says, you're among friends here.

We have been to see her today. She was more chatty than Friday but rude to me a number of times. Don't mind, more herself. However, she is focused on getting out of the unit, is only going to come home because she has to agree to that to get out and I suspect she'll go off again Sad.

Well, I weighed myself after 4 weeks of back to gym and stopping with the carbs after 7pm. Fairly minimal change (a bit less than quarter of a stone - would like to lose a stone ideally) so think I'll go back to 5:2 and just try to keep it up, it's the best I've got!

Hugs @SunshineCake1(my desktop doesn't recognize the older name version yet). That's a tough spot to put the family in, will she have access to trained support remotely? will the family have any tools at their disposal should she not comply (police being more supportive etc.)?
I've not weighed in today but will tomorrow. so far despite all the treats being right under my nose, i've steered clear. we're talking cheeses and hot crossed buns and cinnamon buns just fat and carbs that have my name stamped on them.
breakfast was one hot crossed bun with butter
lunch will be a tuna lettuce wrap
supper is ham with various veggies (baked potato, green beans, carrots type stuff all reasonable).

Hi @fallfallfall. I'm trying to get her reregistered at our family doctors otherwise she might be sent hours away to where she was at uni. We can pay for private but we still need to know what kind of help she needs.

I'm struggling to breathe I'm so stressed. My arms are hurting physically and I am sure it is the anxiety.

@SunshineCake1, keep doing your very best. sounds like you're very self aware, so take 15 minutes somewhere quiet environmentally and focus on your breathing. some things are not in your control.

Dh and DS are being very loud. Dh has had too much too drink as he's barely eaten all day. It is good to hear them laughing together but I just want to go to bed tbh. They are playing the piano and singing.

I am lying awake. Was just dropping off when a big spider walked across my pillow. I know it's in the room somewhere and of course now bits of me keep tickling.
Starting diet Tues so will be measuring tomorrow.

Morning all! After yesterdayโ€™s surprisingly high readings, Iโ€™m pleased to report things are back to normal again today. Even the full percent muscle mass I allegedly lost is back ๐Ÿ˜… I guess my scales were having an off day!

Iโ€™m having my Easter lunch today, so no calorie counting for me, but I may have a smaller dinner to compensate. I am definitely planning to spend some time on the cross-trainer today. Itโ€™s been two weeks since I last hopped on that and I missed it!

I hope you managed to sort out that spider @DrRuthGalloway!

I feel so disappointed in a friend. She has fixated on one thing I have said about DD and keeps mentioning that and missing the point. Just means I won't talk to her about it anymore.

Sorry for the woe is me post. I'm just not coping well at the moment. Everything thinks I am and I am supporting dh and the boys but inside I feel I am heading for a breakdown.

The weight is going down slowly but I'm sure it's because of the warmth that I'm appearing bigger on the scales, I still look slim enough so that'll have to do!

I have spoken to the GP @8stone13, we got sleeping pills the week before last. She asked to be kept informed so I'll be dropping a letter off tomorrow when I go for a scan. Tomorrow DH and I will visit DD and meet with the clinician to see what their plan is.

Hi all. I was on here ages and ages ago as MrsJ. @SunshineCake1 I am so sorry to hear about your DD and her poor health and what you have been through in the last few weeks especially.

I'd like to rejoin you all as we have a family wedding to attend in the summer. As a summary, I lost about 10kg 2 1/2 years ago and kept it off till the winter lock down that was just too stressful and regained about half. Stable there but need to get to a healthier place.

Tomorrow is my first day on diet. I will break up my (hotel Chocolat!) Easter egg for the kids and have finished my last bottle of wine tonight.

I feel quite positive.

I have ballooned over the past 2+ years, I used to be hovering around 2 stone lighter but I'm over eating over drinking and i put my back out (due to the extra stomach weight I think and lack of toning etc) which means painkillers - causing problems in themselves too with stomach issues.
I've tried to drag myself out of it - walking every day (even though it's very painful). When I see pics of myself I get a fright how big i am now. In my mind I'm not as big. None of my clothes fit.
So I started IF and exercise but I need to do more. I'm trapped in a cycle of painkillers... I also suspect my scales might be out by miles

Thanks @8stone13. I feel sick tbh and really anxious. I keep going cold which usually means shock. I'm very tearful. Going to take ds2 to school then go and buy food to take for dd. Tonight we are hoping to celebrate dh birthday. I don't think anyone is in the mood. Well dh isn't, I want to give him a nice day and the boys are excited about the presents they have bought him, but it isn't easy.

Welcome @Flowers111. Boots used to have scales so might be worth a trip there if you think yours are out. Tbh I would use a tape measure. I have had times where the tape has said I am smaller and the scales don't agree so it was nice to have something else to check against. Currently I look the same size as when as was 1.5 stone lighter according to the scales Confused.
