I am really down right now about the way I look and would love to share my joys/lows with others - speak soon x

A points thingy?

Change of plan - I went to Sainsbury's to pick up a prescription and decided to get some of their Be Good To Yourself Goodies

So, its ham and cherry tom pizza, half a garlic baguette and half a pot of coleslaw for dinner 1 point left after that..........

This is soooooo easy!

Have you seen that the WW online has a free week trial on at the moment? You have to set up a subscription and then cancel it after the week. Can't say what it's like yet as can't find my purse!

Also can't find my points book so not sure how I've done but have just had a mince pie so guessing not to well! Going to get the dog to lick the rest off the six pack so that I can't have them!

I was a size 20 before getting pg - was going to start diet last feb when I reached my heaviest ever - 16 1/2 stone but then discovered I was pg. Went up to nearly 19st at 40 weeks but dropped back to 17 straight afterwards. In the last 9 weeks since dd was born I have managed to shift ummmm, hmmm bugger all

It's so easy to live off shite food isn't it?

I am 5ft 11 so can get away with being a bit overweight but my size 20s are tight and that makes me feel dreadful!!

At 13st I am a size 14 on top and 14/16 on the bottom - would be delighted with that.

But I need to start somewhere so I've got my little goals as listed before

Today I had nothing to eat at all until 1pm which is ridiculous but i didn't find time. Then I ate 6 pringles and a digestive biscuit. Made a brunch of slice of smoked salmon, scrambled egg and piece of wholemeal toast which was yummy.

Tonight we went to the local pub and I ordered a prawn salad - it was lovely actually - wanted scampi and chips though

Pringles and biscuit not exactly good but previously I would have eaten tube of pringles and/or half a packet of biscuits.

Tomorrow I am going to make myself porridge after dd early morning feed (6amish) and that should stop silly snacking later on. Think I need to plan a menu like you guys have suggested.

Flippin eck - sorry for long post - am starting to use thread like a therapy session

i have a problem - been trying to lose 2 stone for 8 months now and i have lost NOTHING . this is despite cutting out chocolate, drinking no alcohol, no junk food, going to gym twice a week, walking everywhere. what is going on???? i'm so frustrated don't know what else to do !

Report
UniversallyChallenged · 09/01/2008 23:29

are you losing inches though?

that must be soo frustrating for you. Have you been feeling ok or tireder than usual? I had similar prob and it turned out my thyroid was underactive

Baby new potatoes are very bulky and filling for their points value - and tasty too. You can get about 6 of them for 2 points (200g) and they seriously increase the fullness ratio of salad.

Report
VeniVidiVickiQV · 09/01/2008 23:47

I'm scared to touch potatoes.....they make me want to have butter on them

Report
colditz · 09/01/2008 23:48

Instand gravy is ok, 1/2 a point I think.. And a teaspoon of butter is 1 point, so you could.

Report
VeniVidiVickiQV · 09/01/2008 23:58

Butter is my weakness though you see....one step at a time for the moment

What is your points thingy you mentioned earlier?

And why doesnt the WW website have hoovering listed as an activity? Or sex?

Report
colditz · 10/01/2008 00:02

It's a slider thing where you can work out the points in a portion by putting in the calories and the saturated fat. Then it tells you the points.

Report
VeniVidiVickiQV · 10/01/2008 00:03

Oh I see!

Doesnt tell you about hoovering or sex though?

Can i join you on Monday please, I have about 3 stone to loose too , but am planning on taking it a half a stone at a time.

I am 12 stone 8 at the moment and my first goal is that by 4th February I will be 12 stone.

I think that is an acheiveable first goal because the first weeks weight loss is always a good one

I'm counting calories and am having an allowance of 11,000 per week. I am going to wear my pedometer and also aim for 70,000 steps per week.

I saw someone who I used to go to school with last week, (I'm 44) and she looked so good and I hid

This wobbly person is jsut not me, and seeing me in her skin upsets me.

Report
belcantavinissima · 10/01/2008 09:54

hello, can i join please?

after having baby no 2 and then baby no 3 i have gone initially from 9stone to 13 stone

i have spent several yrs increasing in size and thinking it was ok and that i was voluptuous and how it doesnt matter what size i am etc etc but i have come to the realisation that i am miserable being this size, i feel deeply unsexy and wont let anyone even dh see me in the light without my clothes. i feel really unfit, unhealthy and generally gross.
so om monday i am going to ww for the first time in my life and starting the gym (which i will hate but need to do something- what i really want to do is a bhangra dance class lol but not sure if devon is really the place to find such a thing!)

i want to go down to 10 stone at the heaviest really and at the moment that seems such an impossible task. dont really know where to start!

Morning Ladies >waves from glasgow< I was just reading the last few posts and realise that loads of us have ahem piled on the pounds around pregnancy, it is soo easy when we are getting bigger anyway to think oh well this cake/choc/sweets won't make much difference!! And we know it does, its climbing out of my jeans!!!!!
So from now when I at my fab LOs I am going to think, you are getting bigger and stronger I am getting smaller and fitter!!
I am also going to find a pic of me today that I like( ie slim and ages ago) and stick it on the freezer!!!!!
Can you tell that day three ???

happymumathome · 10/01/2008 10:21

Hi everyone,
It was great reading all your posts. Is it too late to join the group. I also started my diet monday, so would love to weigh in with you all on mondays and keep myself motivated.

I got married in august, managed to loose 3 stone for my wedding and looked great, after the wedding I let things slip a little, well maybe a lot, now I want to get back on track loose what I have regained( about 1 stone) plus extra. In total around 50lbs.
challenged my dh. If I loose 50lbs (no time limit) i get £500 to shop with and if he gets a six pack he can have £500 to spend on whatever he wants. I would ideally like to do it by oct as we are taking the dc to usa, and would love extra spending money.

Bad start to the morning - not had time for brekkie. Having horrible day at work too.

Anyway, I've had two clementines adn thats it so far.

Falafel, humous and pitta bread for lunch again today.

My pg weight dropped off immediately with my two - i was lucky. In fact with DD, I weighed half a stone less 4 weeks after she was born than I had when I got pg with her!

I've gained weight steadily since I stopped b/feeding DS 6 months ago though....

Exercise is a big issue for me, I live in the middle of nowhere so have to drive to get anywhere. I tried a gym but actually cancelled my memebership monday as I was wasting money as I never went ( a 30 min drive each way didnt help motivation)
So I have got myself a pedometer which should arrive early next week, and some fitness dvds to do at home. As i try them out I will let you all know if they are any good and worth the money.

I am going to make use of my birthing ball as well and use it to exercise with ( should be interesting lol)

Also got a chart on the wall, a box for each lb i want to loose and each week when i weigh in I will cross out the lbs as I loose them, so i can see my progress. (do this stone by stone if the full amount is too daunting) I have put my chart under my husbands calander of kelly brook in underwear as another incentive.

Its all mind gameswith me I dont know why but it all helps me keep on track. ( maybe I am just too busy drawing graphs and charts etc that I dont have time to eat.)

VeniVidiVickiQV · 10/01/2008 12:15

Exercise is also an issue for me too, but i think once the weight starts to drop off, I'll feel much better and more inclined.

I am doing little things at the moment. For example yesterday I did a vigorous 20 minute hoover of the car. It's a little bit of exercise and it actually feels like I am achieving somethnig too!

The more you do, the more you want to do. I know this only too well. It's just starting the doing in the first place, lol!
