would anyone like to join me. I am going to start on Monday.

I am not joining any clubs but will be loosely following WW.

Need to cut out the alcohol, crisps, cheese and chocolate (not totally) .

I would love some company. Will try to log on everyday to keep up with anyone who joins me but I do work full time so please dont be cross if I dont reply quickly!!!

I am really down right now about the way I look and would love to share my joys/lows with others - speak soon x

My goal weight is apparently 8 stone 10lb!!!! I havent been that since I was 14 (and I was a very fit teenager - I used to do athletics and sports).

10.5 to 11 stone (size 12-14) would be just fine for me.

I suppose i have major problems believing anything under 8 stone is healthy - I was 10 stone when I was 16 and although I wasn't happy then, I look back at photos and realise I looked GREAT!

I'm aiming for 10 stone. I have been 9 in my 20s but i worry now it'd make everything flop too far south if i went down to that now. And i might look like a shrivelled prune.

Well - that's my excuse anyway

Anyhoo - i think BMI's are too low.

A recent (proper) study showed that people who are just a little overweight live longer.

Surely this means they are the right weight and we need to readjust what is 'overweight'.

Anyway - it's not nice to be told by a nurse you're obese at 11.5 stone.

Potatoes are going to be my savior. You can get a LOT of potato for three points!

Report
JossStick · 08/01/2008 20:58

Really Colditz?

I live on potatoes and always thought this was a bad thing (or is it what i put on them?)

Report
VeniVidiVickiQV · 08/01/2008 21:13

I've had a plastic thai curry for dinner tonight (aka Sainsbos be good to yourself pineapple and chicken curry).

I still have 9.5 points left

I dont think potatoes do me any favours actually.

Soooo.....do I spend, or do I save ladies?

I was a size 14 when I was 11.5 stone which I dont think is humungous - personally.

Report
colditz · 08/01/2008 21:18

you can't bank more than 4 points a day, so spend

Report
colditz · 08/01/2008 21:21

Hi all,
Hope your diets are all going well. Had a very boring dinner of rice and tuna. But have put a load of lentils into soak for tomorrow. They are really good at filling me up.

Hi all, and welcome to all the newbies

Not a bad day today, even if it did start at 4.30 - thanks to DS!
Have decided to really try to have healthy snacks rather than my usual dougnut type ones and did really well - had carrot with humous. All going well until bit of a blip, this evening visisting my Dad and found some Christmas chocolate liqueurs - Oopps

This WW weight thing sounds a bit scary - will have to go and see what it suggests my ideal weight would be, but I would be very chuffed with 10 and 1/2 stone.

Happymumathome - I too hoped that breast feeding would make me slim while I ate what I wanted - no such luck either!

Got to go baby crying for the 4th time this evening agghh....

Hello am I too late to join?

Need to lose 4 stone minimum. Have a dd 9 weeks old and feel like I am made of custard poured into my clothes and spilling over . No one told me what happened to your stomach!!!! Was used to being fat but was pretty firm before.

Running - look at the runners world website. They have a programme I followed 2 years ago when doing the race for life, From beginner to 5km in 6 weeks iirc. It was ace cos I hadn't run since cross country when I was 13!

My tactic is to write down everything I eat for a week. I think I constantly graze on a load of shite . So before dieting I need to change my habits and eat consciously iyswim instead of just shovelling food in without even realising I'm doing it.

Exercise - not that easy to get to the gym at the moment even though I am am a member. Playing badminton once a week and doing 2 different dvds at home. Figure I should be able to mangae that when dd has her lunchtime nap.

Goal no 1 - fit into my current clothes comfortably by the end of the month (they are size 20 fgs)

I want to join too please.

I need to lose at least 2 stone but really 2 and a half to get me to 9 1/2, which for my height (5ft4) would be a good weight.

I'm going to start cutting back now and then start the diet with avengance in monday, once I have cupboards/fridge full of good stuff and a meal plan for the week!

Will read the rest of the thread later to get some tips
