I am not joining any clubs but will be loosely following WW.

Need to cut out the alcohol, crisps, cheese and chocolate (not totally) .

I would love some company. Will try to log on everyday to keep up with anyone who joins me but I do work full time so please dont be cross if I dont reply quickly!!!

I am really down right now about the way I look and would love to share my joys/lows with others - speak soon x

Hello everyone .

Colditz - thanks for the points. 6 points is A LOT for such a small pudding

VVQ - have you tried the oatcakes with dried fruit in them? They are delicious and don't feel diety.

I did OK yesterday and have invented a new diet, called "Hungry? Do some housework", which is something the hoodlum house badly needs. It won't last, but its virtuous whilst it does.

Off now to buy WW magazine and find out about free gym membership for a month. Also might join this website which is quite a good way to track what you eat without joining ww.

oh - love the Hungry? Do some housework idea. My house is a hovel (is that how you spell it? the lack of calories is making my mind weak (that's what I blame it on!).

also like the chart making idea - helps to put off housework!

Just worked out yesterdays points and even including the mince pie I was 1/2 point under - Thank goodness for BFing!

God I'm in a foul mood.

I'm wondering (hoping) its sugar withdrawal or something. I dont think I could bear to be in a horrible mood for no reason.

(Apart from having a horrible day at work, but again, that could be from the sugar withdrawal).

I've just done something amazing - I really lost it after my lovely ds's soaked me from head to toe while they were in the bath(it was the last straw ) and then I managed to resist the cold sausages left over from their tea. I'm feeling very proud of myself - I'm a bit of a comfort eater usually

Well if my chins didn't get in the way I would hang my head in shame.

I have eaten crap today. Well that and good food. Porridge for breakfast at 10am (4 hrs later than planned but better than yesterday). Then had smoked salmon, v low fat soft cheese and wholemeal toast for lunch at 12.30pm. So far, so good

But over the course of the afternoon I ate 10 cadburys chocolate fingers. They had been in the cupboard for weeks but dh opened them last night. I tried to kid myself I wasn't being bad by eating them slowly and one by one. That's 300 kcal!!

Bugger

Cooking chicken and pasta with a tomato and onion sauce for tonight's tea. Ho hum a new day tomorrow I suppose.

silhcushion don't give yourself a hard time, we have all fallen at the chocolate fingers spell at some time , that is why we are here lol

Report
moodlumthehoodlum · 10/01/2008 20:27

silkcushion - fret not, tomorrow is another day. There is no physical way I would be able to resist an open pack of Chocolate fingers.

I have done OK today, but I've just had some filled pasta which although the sauce was just lemonjuice, thyme garlic and mushroom, it was filled with goats cheese .

Tired and in a bad mood too. Its all I can do not to go out and find some chocolate to spank.

Report
VeniVidiVickiQV · 10/01/2008 21:39

I erm removed all the chocolate in the days leading up to D day.....

I havent bought any more. Mind you, DH is dieting with me (although he's not as good as me ) so it makes it easier.

For dinner I have had:

Corn on the cob - they really dont need butter and are utterly delicious.
Fig and Goats cheese Tortelloni (sainsburys), with a dessert spoon of grated parmesan, a handful of spinach and rocket, and half a yellow pepper. 10.5 points in all.

I had a be good to yourself bread and butter pudding for dessert - 2.5 points!

I've saved 6.5 food points so far this week and it's only Thursday!

HI all I'm hoping I can join you too.

I need to loose abiout 3 stone in total. My first goal is 10% of my body weight.

I did not too bad today until teatime when i was cooking some lamb which needed cooking and wasted 12 points eating most of it!

To try and make it up I have made no points soup for lunch tomorrow its in the slow cooker as we speak and have done a huge bowl of salad to take into work with me to have with my soup.

I hate weighing things out and am a complete grouch in the morning so am trying to prepare things the night before.

First weigh in this morning at my own slimming club (my bathroom) and I've lost 4lb so I'm really pleased and feeling motivated for next week.

CayKon · 11/01/2008 11:03

reading everyones posts are inspiring me to keep at it. Alhough I have never done weight watchers so havent a clue about the points. I've always lost weight with slimming world or cambridge diet.

i had another great day yesterday and am strangely looking forward to weigh in on monday. I refuse to weigh myself midweek, in case i get to smug and binge or demotivated if the scales dont move daily.

I got really good set of salter scales in the john lewis sale, they measure your weight (obviously) body fat percntage, body water percentage, and bmi only £25 and free delivery

oh dont worry lulu chalk the booze down and move on.

I got up late this morning so no time for breakfast then went straight to sainsburys to do the weekly shop.

I've just eaten a BGTY maple cereal bar - 1 point, and a clementine and am about to have a well deserved cuppa!

I'm meeting my mum for lunch at the local chinese restaurant. We know the owner well and he makes all sorts of things if he knows we are coming (not just your bog standard chinese food and sometimes salads etc)

I'm thinking a soup is going to be the way to go........I may even have a dumpling or two

VVV im off to chinese too! Lots of stir fried veg methinks, yum.

Lulu you are our leader having started this thread! Dont lose heart

Was thinking about motivation and for me I would love to pass a mirror and - when i have to check my appearance - look into it fully, rather than through squinty eyes because i cant bear to see the full truth I even have started to hate my laptop as it mirrors all my double chins anyone else feel like that to mirrors?!

Oh and well done nimnom- that's brilliant! See what not having those sausages did for you!!!!

UC - I dont get that - which is half the problem. I am sure I have reverse body dismorphic syndrome - I look in the mirror and dont see anything really wrong. I can see I am curvy, but, I dont think "oh, look I'm really fat".

It's only when I see photographs of myself that I can see how I look.

Strange, huh?

Well, lunch is over. I had chicken chow mein - yum! I also had 2 prawn crackers!!!!

I also stupidly had a lemonade without thinking. If I had asked for diet lemonade it wouldnt have been a problem. I did it without thinking and wasted 1.5 points. Ho hum. Still 11.5 points for dinner though.

Oooh I would love a chinese. Not been good today, I haven't eaten much, but what I have eaten hasn't been good. Making toast with butter for dcs is a danger spot because I cannot resist hot buttered toast.

I've found out about the ww magazine free gym membership. Go to this website www.thegymwebsite.co.uk/WW/ and then you have to sign up, (giving bank or credit card details) and then print off your free induction voucher. But if you don't cancel this membership (v.easily I think, through the same website) by the 17th Jan then you will be signed up for a year. I think even though you cancel on the 17th Jan, you still get a month's free use of a gym near you. So as long as you remember to cancel it, you can have free access for at least a few weeks..

Hi All, not too bad so far today, fruit and fibre skimmed milk, ryvita cott cheese (3) butternut squash soup, pear, baked pot with 2 turkey slices and beans, I think that is about 16 points but really guessing
Walked up and down a huge hill twice and loads of stairs so that will have to be the exercise today
Am now fighting the " oh its Friday you deserve a treat " voice !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
How is everyone this evening??

Report
moodlumthehoodlum · 11/01/2008 19:35

Thinking that it is Friday and I do deserve a treat... Its a hard habit to kick. Maybe just 175ml of red wine?

Report
PerkinWarbeck · 11/01/2008 19:43

Hi everyone,

I've been going fairly gently since Tuesday, as I am rather childish and don't react well to having all my treats removed at once.

So this week I have phased out: chocs, wine, and cake (fruit/yoghurt puds only). Also down to one bag of crisps per day, which might not sound like something to be proud of, but they are such a weakness for me.

Next week I aim to stick with the above, and start to look at portion sizes, as the sheer amount of food I can get through is rather gross.

I walked the 3 mile round trip to DD's nursery (in the pouring rain ) - but need to find some other way to exercise on the days when I'm not at work.

Thats exactly the way to approach it Perkin.

Just had dinner. Bacon (BGTY bacon medallions) roll (half a baguette so about 6 inches I guess!!!) with mustard mayonnaise worked out to a surprising 7 points only! (skimped on butter and mayo and using really low fat bacon helped!). Had a yoghurt for pudding.

It was on its last day...i'm not sure it was okay though (nauseous emoticon)

I have 2.5 points and I want a sweet treat but dont know what......
