Just started Fast 800 - care to join me?

Hello

Despite my user name, I will not allow myself to be ambushed by cakes etc for at least 3 weeks. I have a stone to lose and have just read the Fast 800 Keto and watched the series on 4 on Demand, How to Lose a stone in 21 days.

Day one went well. Had 3 lovely meals (recipes delicious and easy to prepare) but just not a lot of them.

The 5 volunteers on the Channel 4 series lost between 10 lbs and 1st 10 lbs in 21 days. That has got to be a great motivation.

Please join me if you like the sound of this, as we can support each other.

Happy Sunday all. I am still on track and another 2kg down at the end of week 2, so that's 5.4kg in total - or 11.5lb. I am feeling very tired though so I'm hoping my body switches to fat burning mode over the next few days! In positive developments my sex drive has come back with a vengeance GrinWink!!

Ambushedbycakeinmydreams · 13/03/2022 14:19

Wow, go you Claire! I'm sure you will be in keto soon, are you testing each morning with the sticks to check?

Happy Sunday from me too. Just done 2 weeks now, am feeling very good and keep finding more clothes I can get back into Grin and Smile

Believe me, it does get easier.

I'll join.. love bread but lost 1 stone on this last year so know that it works for me. Would like to use another half a stone before my hols at Easter so count me in.

Ambushedbycakeinmydreams · 13/03/2022 14:50

Hi @Crazycrazylady

Excellent stuff. You'll do half a stone before Easter easily if you stick to the plan and luckily you've done it before so you know it works. Yes I love bread too and cakes and biscuits and ice-cream

Hello all! So at the one week weigh in I am 1 stone 6 pounds down..very very happy with that! However I wondered has anyone noticed if this diet has affected their periods? I am on the minipill, I don't have periods (other than a spot of spotting every now and again) and last night I had really bad cramps and now I have a period! Wondering if it's hormone changes due to quickly losing weight. I'm not concerned, just interested if anyone has experienced anything similar? X

Ambushedbycakeinmydreams · 14/03/2022 09:56

Hi @Lorelaiii

That is astounding - 1 st 6lbs after a week? Well done, that's going to be a great motivation and also for everyone else on this thread.

Re the minipill you may need to seek medical advice in case its effectiveness has become impaired.

Re the cramps, I had really bad restless legs at night which hampered my sleep and was really uncomfortable. Research on line shows this is a common condition but no-one knows the cause or cure. However 2 things that have worked for me and may help ease the cramps:

I take an iron tablet and vitamin D supplement;
A hot water bottle in bed is very soothing for aching limbs.

Keep it up!

Thank you, I know, it's quite an unreal weight loss, but I do have a lot to lose, and I was not exactly eating well before I started. My body has probably gone into shock that it's not getting 2 bottles of wine and a pizza a night Grin

Thank you for those recommendations, I will get some supplements ordered today. Appreciate it :)

Have a great week! x

clairebeacham · 14/03/2022 13:22

Wow @Lorelaiii that's amazing! And so inspiring!! How are you doing it? Are you following recipes from the book? Here's to another great week Smile

clairebeacham · 14/03/2022 13:25

@Ambushedbycakeinmydreams I have just ordered some Keto sticks so hopefully will find that I'm in Ketosis soon. My start weight was the heaviest I've ever been so I'm still not feeling like I've lost anything.
But, I've also had the tape measure out today so hopefully that will start to provide some positive reinforcement too. So far, am finding the diet itself fine and I haven't felt tempted to eat anything I shouldn't. How far off target weight are you? Smile

Ambushedbycakeinmydreams · 14/03/2022 14:36

Hi @clairebeacham

Don't despair, if you keep to the plan without cheating the magic will happen!

Re my target weight of 9 and a half stone, I don't know. I have made a pact only to weigh and measure at the end of the 21 days as a sneaky incentive to keep "pure" so I can get the best result possible. I think I have lost not far off a stone, judging by how my clothes feel. My muffin stomach has almost gone and I'm on day 16.

@clairebeacham hi Claire, thank you :-) it's a huge motivator.
Yes we are using the fast 800 recipe book. Last week we had the pork and bean stir fry, sausage lasagne (amazing!), Roast chicken and veg, turkey Bolognese, and then we had spicy chicken and salad (not from the book). I have to admit that Friday and Saturday weren't the best days, I had around 1000 calories each day, mostly wine. It's really eye opening to see how many empty calories wine has! For lunches I've been having either left overs from the night before, or salad with feta cheese.
Thank you, and a great week to you too!
X

Tomatel · 14/03/2022 22:30

Good evening all,
Lorelaiii that is incredible. Well done! Weighed myself today, end of week one and I have lost 8 pounds which will do for me! Not finding it too difficult overall but I get really grumpy if I get too hungry!
Feeling more energetic but sadly not in the same way as Claire!

JodieFoster1 · 15/03/2022 11:48

Hi everyone, sorry I’ve been quiet, I have covid but not badly, just very tired and bad head cold symptoms, not sleeping well. Taking a break from Fast800 as DH is cooking and I don’t feel well enough anyway.

Ambushedbycakeinmydreams · 15/03/2022 12:53

Hi Jodie, sorry that you're not well and hope you feel better soon!
Best wishes Smile

@Tomatel thank you and well done!! 8 lbs is brilliant. X

Winecheesesleep · 18/03/2022 12:47

Some great losses on here, well done!

I've lost almost half a stone in 3 weeks, a bit slower but I've not been 100% at times and have had covid this week so allowing myself a few extra calories.

Feeling really good (covid aside) as I'm enjoying the food and today fit into a pair of jeans for the first time in about a year! It's only one pair but it feels great! I've lived in tracksuit bottoms, dresses and skirts since putting on weight during lockdown.

JodieFoster1 · 18/03/2022 13:00

Well done Winecheesesleep very impressed you kept going despite having covid. I didn’t manage that. Feeling better today, just tired, might weigh and restart tomorrow. I am pretty sure I regained what I had lost the previous week as I have been eating lots of carbs.

How is everyone else doing? Ambushedbycakeinmydreams I am excited for your 3 week weigh in.

Ambushedbycakeinmydreams · 18/03/2022 13:55

Hi @JodieFoster1
and @Winecheesesleep

Isn't it great when you can finally wear a much loved item of clothing after an enforced absence? I have got my sewing mojo back and have a dress project on the go (funnily enough I lost all impetus to sew when I gained a stone!)

Yes I'm excited for my 3 week weigh in too, I guess I'll land somewhere between 10 - 14lbs lighter but who knows. All to be revealed on Sunday so watch this space!

OP posts:
clairebeacham · 18/03/2022 14:06

@JodieFoster1 am glad you're feeling better and good luck for the restart tomorrow.
@Ambushedbycakeinmydreams it's so interesting how you lose interest in hobbies when you're that bit heavier, and how much more energy you have for them when you lose the weight.
I weighed myself this morning and have now lost a total of 6.4kg which I believe is just over a stone. So have lost a stone in 17 days. Am feeling very motivated to continue which hasn't happened with any other diets before. I did also measure myself this week and was absolutely horrified by the size of my waist which was nearly as large as my hips. Am guessing this is all weight which is very bad for you, but also weight that this diet should hit the hardest?
How is everyone else getting on?

Winecheesesleep · 18/03/2022 14:16

@JodieFoster1 oh I wasn't feeling that bad, just tired. Sounds like you had it worse than me. Hope you're feeling better soon.

@Ambushedbycakeinmydreams yes it feels great, I've had a whole wardrobe I couldn't fit into with me just cycling through the same few things and refusing to buy a bigger size! It's early days but feeling confident if I carry on I'll be wearing more of them before too long.

JodieFoster1 · 20/03/2022 10:16

clairebeacham you are doing really well, madly impressed here.

Ambushedbycakeinmydreams how did you do? Excited to hear if you want to share.

I’m afraid I have done very badly. Covid, period and I have regained what I lost plus 2 lbs. Sorry! Not at all inspiring. I am in my 50s and it’s just hard. I am dusting myself off and starting again. Bread has been my main downfall.

Ambushedbycakeinmydreams · 20/03/2022 14:13

Hi everyone - at last, the results are in!

Lost 11 pounds; 3.5" off my waist and 1" off my hips. All over slimmer though including legs. I have 8 pounds to go to get to target so I'm carrying on with the plan but being more flexible with portion sizes.

@JodieFoster1 I feel your pain re the bread thing. I made a loaf of home-made the other day and the smell of freshly baked bread taunted me for ages! I got my husband to slice it up and stick it in the freezer. Then this morning, shopping for top-up provisions, there was a special offer on for Hagan Daaz ice-cream - but I have vowed not to buy this in ever again!

OP posts:
JodieFoster1 · 20/03/2022 15:26

Ambushedbycakeinmydreams that’s a great result, especially as you didn’t have a lot to lose to start with. You must be very close to getting into the 9 stone category. Thanks for sharing and really well done.

Ambushedbycakeinmydreams · 20/03/2022 15:47

@JodieFoster1

Thank you! Yes just under 10st 3 today. I'm quite happy with how I look at the moment but think at 9st and a half is right for my height, build and dead middle BMI.

How is everyone else getting on? Good, bad or indifferent, it would be lovely to hear about your progress.

I'm back! My start got a bit delayed Blush but raring to go from today. Need to do a food shop and have a read through the books again and get some proper meal planning from tomorrow.
