'It's laughable how much weight you've put on'

New Year New thread!
Still using this quote as motivation - 'It's laughable how much weight you've put on. You've always been ugly inside and out, but at least you had your enviable figure as leverage to get your own way. Now you don't even have that'
Started at 74kg, now at 68kg which I've managed to hold over the festive season. Next goal is 64kg, in 8 weeks.
Anyone want to join me?
I've set myself a few fitness goals and I'm going to try and not buy any new clothes over the 8 weeks so I can buy something fabulous for a weekend away I have planned at the end of the 8 weeks.
Anyone want to join me?
(I don't know how to like the old thread but I'll try)

Me! im 84kg. First goal is to get under 182lb which is 13stone.

On the low carb bootcamp too!

Yush30 · 01/02/2022 22:42

Would love to do the same- currently 90kg need to lose 15kg!

Hop27 · 02/02/2022 09:31

Let's do this together @Luckydog7 and @Yush30 !

Hop27 · 02/02/2022 09:32

What's the the plan for dropping a few kg's? Diet? Exercise? Both?

OP posts:
Yush30 · 02/02/2022 09:49

It’s mainly food and exercise too
I think 90% food and 10% exercise

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 02/02/2022 09:59

Can I join?
I started one month ago at 108kg. Now 105kg. My first target is under 100kg.

My 'healthy' weight is around 70kg but that's a very long term goal. I'm doing it in chunks of 5kg.

Dietwise... lower carb (I don't think it counts as fully low carbon as I rely a lit on vegetables like carrots). I'm gradually increasing exercise as I don't want to cause problems. Its mainly walking so far but adding some weights and cardio in now.

WouldBeGood · 02/02/2022 10:08

Please may I join? I don’t know how much o weigh as I’m too ashamed, but allowing pt to weigh me and have lost 1.5kgs in my first well weigh in, next one on Friday 😱

I’m doing calorie deficit, with plenty protein but nothing forbidden. To be honest I’ve never eaten so much 🤣 Stuck to my plan, and quit midweek wine (my downfall) though still have a few drinks as my reward. I also do weight training and some spin classes.

Long way to go! I’d like to make this a long term thing as I’m in my fifties now and would like to remain fit.

Jump in @Aroundtheworldin80moves and @WouldBeGood.

Im doing the low carb bootcamp until late may. I have a hen do and wedding and want to fit back into my dresses. Also a holiday shortly afterwards where there will be swimming hopefully so would like to be slimmer then.

I have two small children and would like to be less selfconcious for photographs etc as they are getting older. My yongest is 2 now so no more excuses.

FelicityBob · 02/02/2022 14:10

Who said that to you OP?? Shock

Yuckypretty · 02/02/2022 14:16

Hello, I've just started too. I'm 12 stone and I want to get to 10.5 stone.

I'm dieting by good old calorie counting. I eat the same lunch every day of 200 calories worth of boiled green beans and potatoes. I have 2 snacks a day which are no more than 120 calories each.

I've also started walking my son to school and use my cross trainer for 10 minutes 3 or 4 times a week.

safeharbour · 02/02/2022 14:21

Hi op, sorry I have missed the previous threads and I don't want to trample over old ground or be intrusive or cause you upset, but 68kg is a reasonable weight for many depending on height and build. I was about to say I would love to join your weight loss thread but then I read your op again and it seems you are losing weight because of horrible insults from others and I just wanted to check that you are ok before jumping on board, as I would hate for anyone to lose weight as a form of punishing themselves. Hope you don't mind me posting this as I have my own struggles with weight ATM and wish you well Flowers

Juniper68 · 02/02/2022 14:21

Yes who said that??

I'm not following any particular diet. Just moving more, eating more veg etc. I love cheese and don't have a sweet tooth so cheese is my snack. Just no crackers. It'll come off slowly.

I love walking and dancing. Going line dancing tonight. First time in forever. It isn't my dance of choice but it's at our community centre so close.

I don't get hungry during the day so was thinking of getting a food supplement? I don't want my metabolism to slow.

Valkyrie40 · 02/02/2022 17:54

Blimey, did someone actually say that to you OP? I hope you punched them!

Valkyrie40 · 02/02/2022 17:56

That sounds like fun - I've always fancied line dancing 😆

WouldBeGood · 02/02/2022 18:47

Can you go to line dancing on your own or is that a silly question? 😃

SoManyQuestionsHere · 02/02/2022 18:54

Sorry this was said to you, OP! How rude!

Having said that, the last time I saw my dad he greeted me with "geez, you got fat!".

For the record: my BMI at the time was around 22, and I was wearing a size small.

Some people are just wankers!

Hop27 · 02/02/2022 21:06

It was DSS's mum. She is a very nasty individual. Agree I'd put on weight, 4 rounds of IVF, a chemical menopause and a suicide attempt will do that to a person.
I know 68kg is a healthy weight for most, but I also know my own body and feel most comfortable between 60-64kg. I'm 41 and a curvy muscular 10, happier as an 8.
I'm in a really good place mentally, and want to do this for me.
Have set myself some personal fitness goals and want to stop eating and mostly drinking mindlessly !!!

WouldBeGood · 02/02/2022 21:18

Oh, gosh, sorry @Hop27 I can’t believe someone said that, how awful. Sounds like you’ve had a bad time but glad you’re doing well!

Cutting down on wine drinking is the best thing I’ve done on the calorie counting! Too easy to do.

It was. Beginners class thank goodness. I've done modern jive but line dancing is different. I went in the middle so there were people to follow. But she did a brand new difficult one. I managed.
Londoncatshed · 03/02/2022 12:39

My god OP. What a terrible thing to say to you. I wonder if it’s stems from jealousy, not that it matters. Just wanted to wish you well in achieving your goal! You are doing very well already. Best wishes to you

StopStartStop · 03/02/2022 12:42

OP, who the fuck said that? Right, found it in your later post. She's a bitch!

fluffiphlox · 03/02/2022 12:45

Good God, what a thing to say to anybody.

Hop27 · 05/02/2022 02:30

I hit 2 of my fitness goals today, so I've added another 2.
Weight in tomorrow morning - hopefully I'm on track.
How is everyone else going?

OP posts:
Weenurse · 05/02/2022 06:39

Currently 76 want to be 68kgs.
Have not seen that weight since before DD2 was born 24 years ago.
Have stopped drinking alcohol and lost 4 kgs.
Walking 10,000 steps a day.
Just need to stop eating because it is there!
Weigh in tomorrow.
Thanks @Hop27, I need some motivation
