'It's laughable how much weight you've put on'

New Year New thread!
Still using this quote as motivation - 'It's laughable how much weight you've put on. You've always been ugly inside and out, but at least you had your enviable figure as leverage to get your own way. Now you don't even have that'
Started at 74kg, now at 68kg which I've managed to hold over the festive season. Next goal is 64kg, in 8 weeks.
Anyone want to join me?
I've set myself a few fitness goals and I'm going to try and not buy any new clothes over the 8 weeks so I can buy something fabulous for a weekend away I have planned at the end of the 8 weeks.
Anyone want to join me?
(I don't know how to like the old thread but I'll try)

Oh for f*cks sake why has it posted a picture 🤣🤣🤣 does anyone know how to remove? I'm just heading into the gym but chances are I'm going to sit in the sauna and do nothing because the baby had me up all night I'd rather not look at myself right now 🤣🤣

Hop27 · 10/02/2022 11:34

Looking fabulous @PaddleBoardingMomma 🥰
Based on my BMR, I have 1600 cal a day. Activity levels sit at approximately 2500 - 3000 cal. So I sit roughly on minimum 500 deficit daily - with room for error. That equates to half a kg loss per week.

Thank you 🤣 I've reported myself hopefully they take it down, such a silly mistake!

I hadn't even added in calories for activity level, I wonder if that's why I get peckish sometimes 🧐 you must be really active to be burning that!

WouldBeGood · 10/02/2022 11:42

I don’t add them
In other than in the initial calculation. I’m quite fat and active so have around 2,000 calories! I rarely get to that. 140g protein goal fills me first

daisyducky · 10/02/2022 20:19

Room for a not so little one....

I was 84.7kg on Monday. Not lost the baby weight but haven't put any on since DC2 arrived 2 years ago. Would like to be 65kg to just get in the green on the BMI chart.

First target is to get under 80kg.

Doing calorie counting along with DH who has 30kg to lose. He did the calculations & says I need to be eating 1500 calories a day.

Haven't found it too bad this week but tonight I am hungry!

Hop27 · 10/02/2022 21:37

@daisyducky join us !!!
Staying in a calorie deficit is the best way to drop kg's and its it's amazing how much you can get into 1500!!
Great you are your DH are doing it together, makes it easier !

daisyducky · 11/02/2022 06:22

@Hop27 thank you.

Yes, great we're both in the same head space at the same time otherwise it's just too difficult wanting to eat different things. We've 2 kids as well, 4 & 2, so it's finding new meals that suit us all is a challenge in itself!

Snacking and portion size is our main downfall.

Years ago I did 1200 cal a day but found it too restrictive abs didn't actually lose any weight so will be interesting to see how the 1500 goes.

Twiglets1 · 11/02/2022 06:38

Please can I join the club? I am currently trying to stick to 1600 calories a day ( and walk off at least 200 of those) - started well but now struggling a bit. It’s so boring and sometimes I just can’t face a walk after work when the weather is bad. Sounds like excuses! I just need more motivation really

sparklins · 12/02/2022 08:22

Morning all! Unfortunately having to send back my rebounder as it is a pain to fold up despite the advertisement (I can't keep it open as we've no space for it) .

I am not meticulously counting calories at the moment, more estimating (I have done cc before so I have a pretty good grasp on my staples but being super precise with cc did not put me in a healthy mindset). I am however trying to focus on whole foods/less processed and one thing I have implemented is weighing portion sizes mainly for my carbs (rice/pasta etc). I no longer guess it but look at the packet for recommended portion sizes or calories per g and go from there - you'd be surprised how you can easily double the recommended portion of pasta by just eyeballing it!

I think I will start with simple 15 min workout a day from youtube, considering joe wicks at the moment.

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 12/02/2022 08:41

Going to admit I had a Sod This moment yesterday and had curry and a beer for dinner. With poppadoms. But it was a jarred sauce, chicken and stir-fry veg (no rice or naan) so probably wasn't that bad.

Its half term. Today is DHs birthday and he gets the fun business trip to the US (not all fun but he gets a long weekend off so going to Nashville with his friends) while I get the fun of juggling grandparents demands and children and in laws etc. So just feeling... muh.

daisyducky · 12/02/2022 09:45

First hurdle for us today as the rugby is on and DH is going round to a friends who is doing wings and pizza. I'm joining later. Just don't want to undo 5 days of hard work in one evening!

WouldBeGood · 12/02/2022 09:56

@Aroundtheworldin80moves oh no! I’d be so jealous! Any chance your DCs could visit GPs and you get a bit of peace…?

I had loads of wine last night. Had banked some calories but possibly not enough 😃

PaddleBoardingMomma · 12/02/2022 21:58

Hey folks! How's everyone getting on this evening?

Weather is grim here (Belfast for you!) so didn't get out on a walk today, but didn't have much of an appetite either for some reason so I think I've broken even calorie wise. Hope you're all having a good weekend x

Aroundtheworldin80moves · 12/02/2022 22:02

@WouldBeGood I've brought the children to my parents. It usually turns into a tiring week while my mother pushes various cakes and treats on us all. I've brought my running kit with though.

WouldBeGood · 13/02/2022 01:36

Oh, gosh my mum was like this @Aroundtheworldin80moves, in between calling me fat. My DP is now doing it: planning butter laden food for our next weekend together. So difficult. Hope you get a run or two in!

Hop27 · 15/02/2022 21:10

Morning all ! How was the weekend check in? Sorry I've been quiet had a head cold and of course thought I had COVID!
66.6kg for me this morning.

You're approaching my goal weight, I'm very envious! How are you feeling?
PaddleBoardingMomma · 15/02/2022 22:36

Also, well done!!!!

daisyducky · 16/02/2022 06:56

Well done @Hop27 you're getting so close to your target. Hope you're feeling better after your cold.

I'm 83.2kg so down 1.5kg so far. DH had a weekend off but he still lost too. Managed to avoid most treats over the weekend. I also picked up a cold and I'm always ravenous when I have the cold!

Here's to a healthier week 🤞🏻

Hop27 · 16/02/2022 07:59

I'm convinced it was a off weight in and I'm still around 67..... Feeling good tho, just trying to keep focused on it!
Hoping to have hit 100km walking and 19 gym sessions in 3 weeks by Sunday.

Still at 75.9 again for me.
Big weekend with DD1 in the city, and we ate out a lot.
Pleased I did not go backwards.
Did 26,000 steps yesterday with a double shift, hopefully that will help.

CourtRand · 16/02/2022 12:52

Sorry, but that's a horrible quote. I hope you're OK

sparklins · 18/02/2022 19:50

Hi everyone just checking in! I've been coming down with some type of cold for the past few days and feeling rubbish, today whilst trying to look after one dc who is off nursery I have survived the day on a pot noodle, crisps and areos Blush which has made me feel even worse.

I dare not weigh myself last time I was somewhere around 69.8 kg which is encroaching on unhealthy BMI for me but I can't imagine much has come off.
Hoping I feel better tomorrow and can maybe do a walk.

Weenurse · 18/02/2022 23:56

74.7 🙋‍♀️ Over here.
I need a happy dance emoji.
I am about to go to the city to see Harry Potter and eat. My plan is to walk everywhere instead of catching trams, and try to be a bit sensible with my food choices.

Hop27 · 21/02/2022 18:56

Congrats @Weenurse !!!
Happy dancing for you. I'm back to 67, my period is due hoping that's to blame and I've not gone backwards. Sad
How is everyone else going?
